I just barley installed it with no settings changed or anything and I get these errors in my console.
09:52:50 [INFO] [RankupOnKills] Enabling RankupOnKills v2.0 09:52:50 [SEVERE] Error occurred while enabling RankupOnKills v2.0 (Is it up to date?) java.lang.NullPointerException at net.roguedraco.rankuponkills.Ranks.loadRanks(Ranks.java:50) at net.roguedraco.rankuponkills.RankupOnKillsPlugin.onEnable(RankupOnKillsPlugin.java:92) at org.bukkit.plugin.java.JavaPlugin.setEnabled(JavaPlugin.java:217) at org.bukkit.plugin.java.JavaPluginLoader.enablePlugin(JavaPluginLoader.java:365) at org.bukkit.plugin.SimplePluginManager.enablePlugin(SimplePluginManager.java:381) at org.bukkit.craftbukkit.CraftServer.loadPlugin(CraftServer.java:265) at org.bukkit.craftbukkit.CraftServer.enablePlugins(CraftServer.java:247) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.i(MinecraftServer.java:296) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.d(MinecraftServer.java:275) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.a(MinecraftServer.java:225) at net.minecraft.server.DedicatedServer.init(DedicatedServer.java:140) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.run(MinecraftServer.java:380) at net.minecraft.server.ThreadServerApplication.run(SourceFile:539)
Also when I type a command like /rankstat, I get a load or errors.
@TruDan97
Okay thanks! Keep me posted!
@sk8rjwd
I will attempt to add it to github shortly. However when i convert it to maven, it will be alot different!
@TruDan97
Any possibility on the source code being released? I can try to fix it on my server.
Or, can you just make a small update for world support to the "RankupOnKills-1.3.1 for CB 1.2.5-R4.0 Jul 21, 2012" version of this code? It is the only one that seems to work for me and I really need world support as soon as possible.
@sk8rjwd
I am attempting to get Jenkins up and running as i am converting my projects over to Maven, with this being unsucessful due to my server being on a VPS. and we cant seem to get it working on dwd's server. I am now looking into building my own server to host. So there will be a longer delay then expected
Any news on this?
@TruDan97
I reverted back to version 1.3.1 from Jul 21, 2012 and it seems to work. Can you just add a permission node so that the group with that node ignores rankups for kills or ignores the plugin entirely? like rankuponkills.exempt?
My server is live, so I would rather not do the testing. Although, if you REALLY need it, I can go ahead and do it. Let me know
@Erik058
Try shared count on false. turn on debug, paste some of the debug outputs with a little explination on what you did to get that debug.
HELP! PEOPLE GET RANKED UP AFTER 1! IDK WHY!
debug: false useFancyConsole: false addRank: false showCountdown: false tellPlayer: true ranks: kelly: sharedCount: true pvpCount: 5 mobCount: 0 requireBoth: true totCount: 5 kellya: sharedCount: true pvpCount: 7 mobCount: 0 requireBoth: true totCount: 7 kellyb: sharedCount: true pvpCount: 9 mobCount: 0 requireBoth: true totCount: 9
@sk8rjwd
I can most definetely add that in, i was thinking of some form of command running system. I was also thinking, a few extra things like
addRanks:
- Rank1 - Rank2 removeRanks:
- oldRank1
etc. Its abit easier than searching through all the ranks, working out which one came before, etc. Also, i noticed you have tellPlayer off, but showCountdown true, are you sure your not getting confused with it? showCountdown shows /rankstat after each kill, tellPlayer sends them a message when they rank up. I will look into the Enderman issue shortly. Would you be able to provide some console log with debug: true? All RankupOnKills messages will begin in gold because you have useFancyConsole true.
There is a bug with the 1.3.1 update. Endermen are being counted towards PVP kills. Also, it is automatically upgrading people on one kill.
Here is my config:
Also, can you make it so that you can run a command when the kill count is reached or world specific ranks? I need to have this PVP rank only in a certain world, so the command for me would be /pex user %name% group add %group% %world%. Also, can you add an option to make it so that it won't add the ranks if the user is already a certain rank or higher? I don't want it to add the rank to Donors or Staff on my server.
@PuneyWhiteBoy
Temporary solution:
Then it will not copy them by default, im not too sure how to make it add them on first creation only just yet.
Edit: Should be another file coming up on here very shortly, i edited the config.yml and the bug with the spam
@batcraver327
if you set the plugin to add group instead of set group, and have the priority of the moderator group higher, they will never get ranked down. The only downside to this, users will end up with every group in the perm file.
What could be added instead, is a check to see what group was ranked up to previously, then remove that group upon ranking up. This would leave all groups on the player other than the promotion track itself.
@TruDan97
I will gladly be willing to test your plugin on my server! May I suggest there be a way to put a permission node that allows the plugin to ignore ranking of certain groups For instance I do not want my Mods to be ranked down
Why does the config keep adding the peasant and trainee rank? and also every time someone ranks up every kill they get after that it keeps spamming that they've been ranked up.
just doing my before bed reading.. and seeing this is up.. will be testing it out first thing in the morning. Loving the looks of the new config. Ty so much.
RankupOnKills 2.0 Coming soon:
I am doing a complete re-write of this plugin, and i may require some testers along the way. It will include a new save/load system, new command handler, and should eliminate all the existing bugs.
@Seaboiii
Adding any kind of chat or tag alteration goes beyond what this plugin was intended for. There are 60+ plugins that can alter the chat for you already. This plugin already moves players permissions groups around. Just get a plugin that pulls the prefixes from the perm file.
@Seaboiii
I can add this in, however i intended not to, to leave that to other plugins, as they set display names etc. I like it where the prefix doesnt show on player joins, and player lists etc, so for example. my servers custom plugin, only sets it for the chat. I could possibly make both, and add a config, but if you use essentials, it may not work with nicknames etc.
Will you be adding prefixes?
