neoPaintingSwitch
neoPaintingSwitch - switching paintings the easy way:
This plugin uses the same basic idea as located here and here.
This plugin was originally created by Edward Hand (credit to him!) then abandoned and updated by MadMonkeyCo (thanks for keeping it alive) but abandoned again. Because I use it, a lot, I needed it working. So, I have rewritten it to use the bukkit api instead of hooking directly into the net.minecraft server. Meaning it shouldn't break after every new minecraft version.
How it works:
- Place a painting on the wall.
- Right click the painting and then using the mouse scoll wheel to scroll through the paintings.
- When you find the painting you like simply right click again or walk away from the painting. The plugin will disengage and the painting you have selected will remain.
There you have it, in a nutshell, it simplifies the selecting of paintings and saves alot of time. The plugin is also smart enough to know which paintings are the correct size for the space available. No commands to remember, simply click and scroll. Simple as that.
Features
- Allows you to scroll through paintings by aiming and right clicking at them and using the mouse wheel to scroll through paintings.
- Permissions support ("neopaintingswitch.use"). -Groupmanager, bukkit permissions, niji based permissions, bPermissions, Vault, PermissionsEx and any other permissions that works with bukkit.
- config to turn off permissions checks entirely
- Support for worldguard regions
- Remembers last painting used and will attempt to use the same painting for future placements.
Permissions:
- neopaintingswitch.use
Config:
- free4All
- false : enables permissions checks and allows anyone to switch paintings
- true : disables permissions checks and allows anyone to switch paintings
- debug
- true: enables permission debug traps
- true: enables permission debug traps

@OriginalMadman
OK, I think I have basic WorldGuard support working. The owner of a region is the only person allowed to change a painting. (right click / scroll) I wasnt sure if members of a region should be allowed too so I err'd on the side of caution and just left it owners only.
Try out the beta and let me know if this is ok or you need something else worldguard related fixed / added.
neoPaintingSwitch 1.32 beta 2 (worldGuard support)@OriginalMadman
I dont have any specific support. However if griefing is a problem then I can look into worldguard. I certainly dont want any of my plugins to be a contribution to griefing. If I can, I'll see about adding something worldguard related to the next version. IE the one in beta now.
editI'm assuming you just need protection from players scrolling the painting who do not own the paintings. Correct? You dont need place and destroy protection. Worldguard provides that protection right?
@arcvvolf
Well, we do have the problem that other players grief paintings inside wg regions - we still use this plugin since it's been a minor issue and the convenience is great - but once people get a handle on it it may become much worse...
Seems like most other protections don't help either.
So what kind of protection do you support? Because right now as I see it, using this plugin makes you open for grief...
@OriginalMadman
Now? This is the first I've heard of anyone even using worldguard and paintingswitch. So its probably not going to suddenly start supporting it. lol, besides that I've not seen a whole lot of demand for worldguard support. So its not very high on the todo list...
Will it obey worldguard now?
@ascobolbeast The mirrors my own results. The beta version I am using does fix a dupe bug but other then that the plugin is working correctly with no errors.
A new release will be posted in a few days.
Current Beta can be downloaded here - NeoPaintingSwitch beta 1.32
Hi arcvvolf,
just tried it on Bukkit 1.3.1-R1.0.
Seems to work. I didn't check if there are any error messages. But the scrolling/locking works.

UPDATE: The bukkit console doesn't show any error.
I LOVE YOU! THIS IS AWESOME!!!! BEST PLUGIN SINCE PLUGIN. SO USEFULL!
@HavenOfKairos
Yep, if needed. Nothing has changed though so its still working ok so far. Pretty low maintenance plugin really.
Still really loving this, doe sit get updates if needed?
Don't want to be panicking around trying to find a plugin like this!
Thanks!
@Emcitement
Yep, alive and kicking with a fresh coat of paint. :D
Woohoo. I thought the paintingswitch was gone. I'm the one who made the request for the plugin to be updated (which MadMonkey did)
This makes it so much easier for decorating
Thank you, this is great! :D
My players really like this plugin. Thanks!!
Works perfectly for me with the latest RB of CB++ for MC 1.2.5
I can confirm that this plugin works with the present build of Bukkit (2149). Please try it before requesting an update. :)
@Tealk123
People! please. I've tested this and it works FINE with the current version of craftbukkit build 2034. Minecraft 1.2
If it will make you happy I can increment the version number... but the source will remain the same unless there is something specific that needs fixed.
please update
@arcvvolf
Ok, cool. It still says R1 on the latest file, that's why I was asking.
Seems to work fine with todays dev build of bukkit 1.2
@veN1337
Very first line of the error states your problem" [SEVERE] Error occurred while enabling neoPaintingSwitch v1.3 (Is it up to date?)"
The answer to the question "Is it up to date?". No, that version is not current and that would be why it bombed out. Maybe you should try 1.31, pretty sure it will fix your problem..
