MoxieSkills
MoxieSkills is a skills plugin like none you've ever seen before. Having had three previous recodes, the current version is as fast and efficient as you will ever see. Train yourself in a range of fifteen unique skills to beat your friends. With hiscores, good interfacing and challenging levelling, you'll never be bored.
What Does MoxieSkills Do?
- Competitive levelling formula
- Vast range of skills
- Skill leaderboards
- Skill and XP dynamics similar to that seen of online MMOs
- Multipliers for individual players and their skills
- MySQL Database support
- Each skills is highly configurable - each has it's own file!
This plugin uses an email API to automatically report errors. I do not receive passwords (this would break Bukkit rules). If you want to keep your email anonymous, use Yahoo! email, otherwise use GMail (only Yahoo! and GMail are supported). There is also an option to send your server IP to improve communications. This plugin also uses an auto-updater and MCStats.

Yup, if players do /mox they can see all their commands, you're looking at /mox toggle fw, and /mox toggle xp :)
Is it possible to allow players to toggle the level up firework? Can it be done to have the "You gained Xamount of XP" disabled or at least made less frequent?
The plugin looks great and I'm running it on a test server at the moment.

Hey, I'm in a similar situation to you where the server I work on uses Citizens too. For this reason, MoxieNPC will use a "Character Trait" for Citizens 2, rather than creating it's own NPCs :)

I think they said it would be separate but don't remember for sure.
Would MoxieNPC be a part of this plugin, or one on its own? I already use Citizens, so being forced to use another plugin's NPCs might (emphasis on might) be an issue, unless there's a configuration to turn off that portion entirely, as if it weren't even there.
Would it be possible to make it so that when gaining exp its not a set amount, but a random amount within a range? If so that would be epic.
I think this definitely is a much better rpg(ish) plugin then mcmmo. Definitely going to keep using this :D Great job!

Thanks! Did some comment digging, can't seem to find anything relating to the shift click issue. What causes that? Is it an issue with Bukkit itself? If so, do you have an issue posted on bug tracker that people can go support to be fixed?
Edit: Also, I take it the GainXPWithOtherSkills is the constitution thing? How do I configure this, I don't see any defaults anywhere to know how it's done. :P
really cool plugin, i've always wanted something like this. i recommend an option to lose all your skills on death, i would definitely add it to my server if this was possible.

I'm still to add the admin-base commands, but be sure that is next on my list :) It'll likely include the leaderboards too. The constitution idea is in there in v2.1.2 :D

i really love the idea of this plugin. i have a ? tho. once lvl 99 is achieved what is gained beside the rewards. is there a way to tell who has reached 99 in a skill as an op is there a way to create a doc. in the config so its easy to see who has reached that lvl so in game we could post there names. . also i would like the hp to be listed like other have said also.
I would love to have constitution earn XP from normal combat as well, at like 33% rate, that way if you got 99 attack, strength, and archery, you would get 99 constitution as well along the way. ((THIS<

Could you add earn XP for fishing like you have with Mining, Woodcutting, and those kind of skills? I have a few custom fish, and when people fish them up they don't earn XP for them, and I can't add their IDs, at least I tried, maybe I did it wrong. Are you able to? If not, will you please add the option to set custom item IDs there?
Edit: Sorry, they do earn XP for anything they catch, without adding anything, what I meant to say is that they earn the default amount, which is what I want to configure, some of the fish are rare, and I don't really want them to only get 5 XP for them.
Edit2: Also the same for attack/strength, tons of mods add weapons and tools, and I have no way to add those, so none of my swords or axes give XP for attack/strength.

Anyway, would an RPG plugin like this be compatible with mcMMO? I was looking for an RPG plugin that would act as a supplement for mcMMO, and this one seems just "right".
Also, it would be nice if we could set a base custom health and level it up to the max configured amount over time. The way this plugin could do that would be to "listen" to the damage (after all other plugins, of course) then change the damage by a percentage, accordingly, kind of like how Heroes does it.
Fine control is a must for any RPG plugin like this one, which basically means that almost every feature should be configurable. I know that you're probably busy, and the plugin is still in its beginning stages, but I just wanted to point this out. According to the configuration set-up (assuming it's up to date), I can't configure how the skills work, or exactly how I get better as I level. It would be nice if I could, though.
Remember that I'm just pointing things out, there's really no rush to get these things done. And again, nice plugin. :)

I would have edited the comment to say that I found the problem, but I couldn't. I didn't have time to read the console saying it was updating, and apparently it didn't change parts of the config automatically, so just didn't work.

Oh sorry about that I missed that I guess, the way mcMMO works with herbalism is it detects if that block (flower) is placed by a player, if it is, you earn no XP. I have a lot of mods, like a ton of other people, and my flowers and plants drop a different item then what you break, so this wouldn't be an issue anyway for us.
Sad to hear about alchemy, I guess that is why I haven't seen anyone have a skill plugin that does it.

At the moment, you need to have a permissions plugin like PermissionsEx to assign the permissions. I'm looking at making this op/default as well tonight though :)

I'm having much the same trouble as you, but with a different thing. I would probably (at the moment) advise going with a different skills plugin whilst the developer gets this plugin sorted out. If you're interested, the trouble I'm having is no commands work; it just returns the command you used. So if you used /moxie, it would return "/moxie" in chat. It's a shame, really.
