MCTowns
MCTowns is a powerful way to manage towns.
- Create Towns, assign them Territories, and let mayors divide them up into Plots on their own.
- WorldEdit backend means you can use WorldEdit CUI and all of your favorite WorldEdit commands to create regions of any size and shape
- WorldGuard backend means lightning-fast performance and rock-solid stability
- Mayors can restrict town membership to only people they invite, or open it up to anyone who can afford a plot
- Saves you time and reduces the workload on your moderators!
- Mayors can manage regions within Territories that have been assigned to them
- No need to ask a mod every time someone wants to join your town, or you need a new plot created.
Contact
- Send me a PM on BukkitDev. I will always respond to these.
- Post a comment here. I'll probably respond to this.
- Email [email protected]. I will always respond to these.
Basic Commands
- /mct -used for adding and deleting towns, querying basic info, etc
- /town -used to manage towns, including inviting players and adding territories
- /territory -used to manage territories, including adding plots
- /plot -used to manage plots, including adding players to plots
Metrics Collection
MCTowns tracks some stats about who uses it. They're primarily for me to feel good about myself when I see people are actually using what I make, or (in the case of bug reports) are so that I can improve the plugin so that I can continue to feel good about myself when I see people are using the plugin.
MCTowns uses MCStats. To learn what is collected and how to opt-out of collection, see the following official MCStats page:

Note that as of v2.1.0, most bugs will be automatically reported for you. See the page on Automatic Bug Reporting for more information.

Oh, can you add an option in the config that allows disabling of McTowns MOTDs?
@ArttuJarvinen
Glad you got it working =)
I just created a new server, and for some reason now, it's not listing the McTowns in the plug-ins list but EverCoreUtils is, and when I do /mct it says uknow commnad. Any idea why?
EDIT: nvm... I just realisec I forgot to install Vault ._.
@MrFrostmaul
I'm afraid that goes a little bit beyond my abilities.
This looks like a very promising replacement for Towny. I have been having quite some issues with towny lately. I am currently at work and wish to try this out later on. Will they be disabled item use feature like the ones in Towny?
If there anyway, you could add the feature where it has website stats as well. This would really help for members of towns and a list of towns etc.
@ArttuJarvinen
They can't...?
I'll fix that.
And, there is no command. If you left the tool as the default item, just go make or /give yourself a wooden hoe, hold it in your hand, and click away.
Even if they are assistants, only one mayor (the first) is able to make/edit plots.. In order for the other to do it, they always need to switch mayors using the /to setmayor <resident name> command.
I meant what command do you use to equip the QS tool? like /./wand with world edit.
@ArttuJarvinen
Add them as assistants.
There is no command for using the QS tool, just point and click.
Can you please add the ability to add multiple mayor to a town? like /town add mayor <name>
Because on our server we have a mayor rank and they get the McTowns commands and they get a territory to build and make plots in, but since the rank is failry expensive, people tend to team up for a town and then if they are about 1-4 people 2 of them might want to be the plot managers so I gave two players the rank, but still only one player can manage plots in one city. So I hope you add the ability to add multiple mayors to a town!
Thank you!
EDIT: Oh, and what is the command for the quickselect tool (or whatever it was called)? :)
@Everdras
Sounds great :)
@Samifighter
Yep.
@Everdras
Ok.
Will there be in future something like Towny's tax system?
@Samifighter
Not at the moment, no. I do have plans for it in the vague future, but there's nothing currently like nations.
Hi,
at the moment we use towny, but the biggest problem is, that towny's plots are very unflexible. Therefore we are looking for something else which is based on WorlGuard. I think we have found it with MCTowns, am I right?
Is it with MCTowns possible to create nations like in Towny?
Excellent, thank you so much and good job!
@roggbart
A jar with your fixes applied is available as v1.1.1 in the downloads section.
@roggbart
I figured out your problem; when a mayor buys a territory for the town, the money is deducted from the town's treasury instead of the mayor's personal account.
I've improved the error message you receive when your town's coffers don't have enough money to buy a territory.
@roggbart
Ahh, gotcha, I'll try to fix that too.
I'll release a hotfix of everything I have finished tomorrow, so I can do at least some minimal testing to make sure the changes work, though most of the changes were trivial and basically can't not work.
@Everdras
That was the fastest fix I've ever seen. Brilliant.
2. I'm not talking about buying others territories, but about this feature here: "mayorsCanBuyTerritories". (/wo -admin) /town add territory <territory name> . When I try that, it says I cannot afford it even I have money.
Good job on the fixes
