MC Jobs
Welcome to MC Jobs
MC Jobs was created to pick up where jobs left off. These jobs earn you money for your server economy. There are 20 default jobs that are customizable along with the ability to create your own custom jobs.
ANNOUNCEMENTS Updated 10/2019
Hello guys,
several years have passed since the last update here. But now i will be change it. Me , Bl4ckSkull666 ( old name Papaharni or Papi too ), work now on the plugin to update it to the newest version of minecraft.
What's currently done? I added 2 new job groups. reworked few job groups.Reworked the jobs. Moved Database from old cache system to read friendly yaml/mysql support. Added Multilanguage support. That mean you can translate language file in multiple language and let your user select the language. You set default language in configuration, but the user can change it to a available language for him self.
Hmmm okay, whats new too? You can, currently only manual in the job files add a region and message that the player displayed on enter this region. The message can be a string with | for new line. Or use spigot message, if you use a spigot server, In Spigotr message u can build buttons and much more. And new is the NPC message, the message is same like on region, but it can be different messages. It can be activate on click the npc. To work set a sign with [mcjobs] in line 1 and in line 3 the jobnname below till 7 blocks on the npc. Users can now click it to see the message. Other one is the free Signs. For Description please read THIS
If you have a question, need help or will be report a error. please use the Discussion Thread ONLY . Thank you!
Sincerely,

ANNOUNCEMENTS Updated 04/2015
So another year somehow has slipped by without being able to work on this project. So I have added PapaHarni to help keep the project going. Hopefully he can quickly get the codebase up to the latest Bukkit release. Welcome Papi.
I have also decided to release source on Github. If you want to fork or view the source feel free: https://github.com/RathelmMC/MC-Jobs

Requirements
There are no hard dependencies. MC Jobs can work out of the gate unchanged.
If you want to pay in money you need an economy bridge!
Register 1.6 or higher or Vault 1.2.13 or higher are needed.
Description
You have developed great shops with a shop mod or you use citizens as NPC shopkeepers, you have a repair shop, or you have a block protection system that uses an economy. But that begs the question "How do you pay your players?" Well you could just give them money, but what fun is that? That's where MC Jobs comes in. It's a full fledged player job mod where you choose how much they get paid and for what activities and they can earn money by doing those tasks. It's fully customizable by server admins, but for those of you that just wish to plug and play it has 20 built in jobs that covers about 90% of the blocks and entities in the game. Remember:
If you need cash get a job!
Features
- Ability to join or leave jobs
- Obtain higher levels in jobs to earn more.
- Charge or pay players for doing actions on the server by default. You want TNT to cost to use. You can! It's in Taxes.
- Earn XP through jobs by default.
- Earn money through jobs using any of the economy plugins
- Ability to edit, create or delete jobs in the config.yml file
- Multi World support
- WorldGuard region support
- Utilizes craftbukkit's built in Materials List
- Uses craftbukkit's built in Entity Type List
- Uses custom Potion List
- Uses custom Enchant List
Commands
/mcjobs = Allows all the user commands such as joining and leaving a job. /jobs = Alias of /mcjobs /mcjobsadmin = Allows the administrative commands. Reloads the addon or gives/takes a specific job from an online player or group if using Vault. Options are: reload, defaults, add player/group job, remove player/group job, list player/group. /jadm = Alias of /mcjobsadmin
Instructions
Installing is simple. Copy mcjobs.jar into your worlds plugin folder and restart or reload your server. Players can then join up to three jobs (modifiable in config.yml). To join use /jobs join job_name . The default jobs are:
- alchemist
- armorer
- baker
- brewer
- builder
- carpenter
- conjurer
- digger
- enchanter
- farmer
- fisherman
- hunter
- miner
- soldier
- theurgist
- tinkerer
- toolmaker
- weaponsmith
- woodsman
- bulldozer - default job
- taxes - default job
You can then leave a job with /jobs leave job_name . To learn more about each job type /jobs job_name . Feel free to check out the forums for more info!

When it says "repair" does it mean craft-two-items repairing? (I wish it meant mcMMO repairing :3 )
@sexysteve865
I'll keep you informed. :)
Watching this closely for mysql support.
@Megalanias
It's not a quest mod, it's a payment mod for doing particular actions. If you want people to stop farming a particular block you can add it to the list. For example, miner has both place and break. Break pays, but placing obsidian, iron ore or gold ore costs. If you want it to cost more than change the percent_cost in the config file to a higher number. Any number over 100% causes it to cost more than you get paid.
@Kroky3000
Did you switch payment_type from xp to money? Did you switch payment_mod from none to vault or register?
@yigitusta9
Switch payment_mod to vault and payment_type to money. What version of Vault are you using?
@Pr0d1gyR
No. There currently are no job specific permissions. Maybe at some point I'll add that.
@xcanner
No. The source code is not available.
@todo94
Download the latest version of Vault (version 1.2.14) or Register (version 1.8). Switch payment_type to money from xp and payment_mod from none to whatever economy bridge you are using.
@MonserGaming
It does support iConomy through an economy bridge. I use iConomy on my server. You need at least 6.0.9b or higher for it to work right.
@sexysteve865
There's currently nothing to store into SQL right now. I'll add SQL support when I add player levels. But thanks for the like.
@fondelaar
You're welcome.
this saved my day. ppl were getting mad for not being able to earn money
once mysql is supported I will switch to this.
@stanenrik
Stanenrik:
Do you have iConomy, the plugin doesn't support it.........if it did i would be able to use it.........
how to change so i get payed in money? i get payed in xp now i have Essentials iconomy
@RathelmMC
Is the source code anywhere to be found?
Can you update the plugin so it would work with iConomy? That would help a lot of people.
Ia it possible to make a permissions group only be able to do certain jobs for example Regular can be Farmer Digger Miner and Fisherman Trusted get all of above plus armorer and weaponsmith
I can not connect this with iConomy using vault may you post a youtube vid?
Can someone help?? I installed the latest version of iConomy,Register and MCJobs but when I "accomplish" one of the objectives of a job to get money, I don't get anything. I did it with armorer and weaponsmith, I did all type of armors and weapons but I didn't get no money... Help?
I found something you must change ... could you propably make it so, that the people just get paid when they have an joboffer by someone, that could prevent farming ... also if someone place sand, and this sand falls down, and it get mined, then they get xp, so they could farm very much just with one block of sand ...
@MinecraftZocom
Register 1.5 will not work properly with MC Jobs. Are you still using craftbukkit 1.1? I haven't tested MC Jobs on 1.1 (R5 and less).
@stanenrik
That's not enough info. What version of MC Jobs are using? What job do you think is not working right? Are there any errors in your server.log?
@weja93
Upgrade to 2.0.0 that bug is fixed with mcMMO. Also if you think the payments are out of whack just change the basepay in the config file. If you come up with a better setup feel free to tell people. I'm kind of just winging it for values, on what I think instinctively feels right.
This plugin is awesome and simple.
Some of the default configurations are weird though, they should be tweaked so people won't at setup get too much money.
I am also getting this error. Plugin works perfectly though.
2012-04-13 19:37:28 [SEVERE] Plugin mcjobs is attempting to register event com/gmail/nossr50/events/skills/McMMOPlayerRepairEvent, which does not exist. Ignoring events registered in class com.dmgkz.mcjobs.listeners.mcmmolistener.McmmoRepairListener
can someone help me if i have a job and do the job i dont get money or xp ! how to fiix it
@RathelmMC Yes I use both, Vault and Register. I think I'm using the old version 1.5, maybe that's why. So can't you use Vault and Register at the same time?
The main economy plugins on my server is, towny, chest shops, maybe essentials / dragontravel.
@mattray114
To get money you need to switch xp to money in the config, and also have either Register or Vault running. It's also not a bad idea to switch payment_mod to either register or vault, depending on which you use.
@MinecraftZocom
Hmm.. That's an interesting error. There shouldn't be any concurrent modifications being done to any user iConomy account. Everything I do is in the main thread. What version of Register are you using? What other mods do you use that access iConomy? Also do you have both Vault and Register?
@dockter
It's actual XP. There still is no levels for jobs.
mc jobs 1.2.7 Resetted my iConomy accounts and caused us alot of trouble with our members wanting their money back. I'm not sure If this is fixed in the new update, but please our users like it, and we hope to be able to use it more without issues.
