ANNOUNCEMENTS Updated 10/2019
Hello guys,
several years have passed since the last update here. But now i will be change it. Me , Bl4ckSkull666 ( old name Papaharni or Papi too ), work now on the plugin to update it to the newest version of minecraft.
What's currently done? I added 2 new job groups. reworked few job groups.Reworked the jobs. Moved Database from old cache system to read friendly yaml/mysql support. Added Multilanguage support. That mean you can translate language file in multiple language and let your user select the language. You set default language in configuration, but the user can change it to a available language for him self.
Hmmm okay, whats new too? You can, currently only manual in the job files add a region and message that the player displayed on enter this region. The message can be a string with | for new line. Or use spigot message, if you use a spigot server, In Spigotr message u can build buttons and much more. And new is the NPC message, the message is same like on region, but it can be different messages. It can be activate on click the npc. To work set a sign with [mcjobs] in line 1 and in line 3 the jobnname below till 7 blocks on the npc. Users can now click it to see the message. Other one is the free Signs. For Description please read THIS
If you have a question, need help or will be report a error. please use the Discussion Thread ONLY . Thank you!

Description
You have developed great shops with a shop mod or you use citizens as NPC shopkeepers, you have a repair shop, or you have a block protection system that uses an economy. But that begs the question "How do you pay your players?" Well you could just give them money, but what fun is that? That's where MC Jobs comes in. It's a full fledged player job mod where you choose how much they get paid and for what activities and they can earn money by doing those tasks. It's fully customizable by server admins, but for those of you that just wish to plug and play it has 20 built in jobs that covers about 90% of the blocks and entities in the game. Remember:
If you need cash get a job!
Features
- Ability to join or leave jobs
- Obtain higher levels in jobs to earn more.
- Charge or pay players for doing actions on the server by default. You want TNT to cost to use. You can! It's in Taxes.
- Earn XP through jobs by default.
- Earn money through jobs using any of the economy plugins
- Ability to edit, create or delete jobs in the config.yml file
- Multi World support
- WorldGuard region support
- Utilizes craftbukkit's built in Materials List
- Uses craftbukkit's built in Entity Type List
- Uses custom Potion List
- Uses custom Enchant List
Commands
/mcjobs = Allows all the user commands such as joining and leaving a job. /jobs = Alias of /mcjobs /mcjobsadmin = Allows the administrative commands. Reloads the addon or gives/takes a specific job from an online player or group if using Vault. Options are: reload, defaults, add player/group job, remove player/group job, list player/group. /jadm = Alias of /mcjobsadmin
Instructions
Installing is simple. Copy mcjobs.jar into your worlds plugin folder and restart or reload your server. Players can then join up to three jobs (modifiable in config.yml). To join use /jobs join job_name . The default jobs are:
- alchemist
- armorer
- baker
- brewer
- builder
- carpenter
- conjurer
- digger
- enchanter
- farmer
- fisherman
- hunter
- miner
- soldier
- theurgist
- tinkerer
- toolmaker
- weaponsmith
- woodsman
- bulldozer - default job
- taxes - default job
You can then leave a job with /jobs leave job_name . To learn more about each job type /jobs job_name . Feel free to check out the forums for more info!

@xcanner
Well I'm not going to add my own area support to the mod, but I know that Towny's regions work. It appears that WorldGuard isn't working exactly right so I'll look into that.
I currently have no plans to add a cost to joining a job, but I know a lot of people like Heroes so I was going to look into adding heroes type dependencies at some point.
@thernztrom
Currently there is no benefit to SQL support. The only data that is persistent is what jobs people have and that is stored in RAM. The only time it is accessed is when a job is joined or left and when the server is restarted.
I'll add SQL support when I have player levels as that will gain the benefit of the SQL database.
@enigmax2
Newer versions of Register are now maintained by the Towny Advanced team.
@TheMinerCrafting
As long as your Vault version is higher than 1.2.13 and you've switched payment_type: money and payment_mod: vault it should work. Other than that what kind of messages are you getting in the server.log?
Small problem, I can't get it to give me money, its either xp or nothing. I've got Vault, I've tried using Iconomy, I've tried using BOSEconomy but nothing is working. I have changed it from xp to money in the config file. Any help on this? Reply, ASAP!
Thanks!
Does anyone have any idea why the register mod on the bukkit plugin pages state that the latest build is 1.5?
Who is maintaining the register plugin nowadays and where can I find some more details about it?
How is mysql support going? Is it planned for any of the soon upcomming releases?
@RathelmMC
Will there be "area" support, in addtion to multiworld support. So you can have a certain area/region in a world, where you can get paid for a job.
Could you add a cost for a job, a job cost´s x amount money to join. Eg. it will cost 100 money to be a digger (it makes sence if the pay for the job is XP and not money) : jobs: digger: description: The digger earns xp by breaking blocks with the shovel. cost: 1000 basepay: 1.0 show_every_time: false break: pays: true hide: false tier1: dirt sand grass tier2: gravel clay tier3: tier4: soul_sand mycel tier5:
@SNIPINGTAC0
As long as you use Vault or Register it will support whatever economies they support. Which is all of them right now.
Does this support Essentials Economy?
i only use worldguard for protection
can u add 5+ tiers? thats bad only multipier it to 5..
@Doenerb0y
The tiers go up to 5.
The block break and placing event listens for other mods to cancel it. What protection mod are you using? Are they properly canceling the event or are they replacing the broken item? When I tested with Towny Advanced I couldn't break a block over and over and get paid.
can u add "only pay on block change"? i destroyed an flower in a protectet area and was paid all time.. link it to LogBlock or someone other blockchange plugins
and can i change tier3 to tier2000 and it works? or only to tier9?
btw thanks for this awsome plugin :D
After testing we found that it does prevent people from joining jobs in seperate worlds.
However, if you are in a world that allows jobs, and switch to a non-allowed world, you are still part of that jobs listing and able to spam money from items.
Not sure if this is an easy fix or not but does prevent its use on production servers.
Thank you.
@RathelmMC
Wow, that was fast, thank you very much. Throwing this on the test server. If all is good we will be adding it into main. I can let ya know at that point for curiosity sake. Always welcome to join us and see how it plays out, but I imagine you have your own server.
@PunJedi
Yes I added it to 2.0.4. Its uploaded and just needs approval from the bukkit guys. Hopefully the multi world implementation fits what you need.
So uh...about that multiworld support.
Ya DONE yet?! :)
Just kidding. We are very excited to bring this in. We like light and robust and in testing had no issues. Obviously can't use it yet because of the creative vs survival world mix that some of us servers do, but still.
This fits exactly what our Community has been looking for and we can't wait to see it in place.
Thank you.
@LHammonds
Unfortunately this is the only limitation of the mod. A grouping (place, break, craft, etc) can either be pay or charge, but not both. As for the wheat example, I'm trying to limit the amount of custom code for specific blocks. If Mojang ever adds more farming crops then I may consider adding it, since it'll be its own class.
@psirusa
Multi-world support is on the todo list.
@RathelmMC
Thank you :)
@RathelmMC
thx it work now :D
Works great so far, converted from the original jobs plugin. If I may make a suggestion, is it possible to limit payout by world? I have a creative and a couple survival worlds, and it would be nice to have players get paid only for working in the survival world.
I have MC Jobs 2.0.0 installed on CraftBukkit 1.2.5-R1.0 server and it works great. I only had to change the payment_type from xp to dollars in the config as well as payment_mod from none to Vault for it to work like it had before.
I still wish there was an option to take away money if pumpkin or melon stems are destroyed as well as destroying wheat before they are ripe.
Thanks, LHammonds
@gabriel11798
Lucky for you it does mean that. mcMMO repairs should pay you if you have the proper job.
