MapEdit
MapEdit
MapEdit is a way to send data to maps. It finds what you set in the config, and adds the effect to all players with permission. One of the major features of this plugin is that it tracks player movement, much like the maps on the Xbox360 version of Minecraft. MapEdit can replace online maps such as DynMap, and won't cause lag.
Features:
- Player-Tracking
- Full permissions
- Full configuration
- Player colors
- Almost exact in accuracy
Player Tracking
This plugin allows maps to track players. Players that are in the same world can be seen on the map as a cursor similar to your own. Your cursor will be white, and the other cursors will be the default color of the server or the color the player has permission for.
Startup Map
When a new player joins the game, they will be given a map. If they are not new to the server, they will not be given a map.
Default Scale
The scale of all maps on the server can be automatically set, and can even be made smaller.
MapEdit has proven to be a challenge. Many things involved in MapEdit are not written anywhere, therefore, this plugin has taken me a decent amount of time. I have managed to add functionality to something I never thought possible, until I looked into the bukkit documentation. Nice Plugin

@GamingTutsDK
Thanks, I will update that right away... Bukkit just wanted to put a 404 cat on my link :D.
The 'My Plugins' link in the top won't work.
@SrPatchez
Tried it for a while, this project has been inactive for a while though, as I am working on Ablockalypse at the moment. Once a release for that is out, I will go back through my older plugins (including this one), and try to figure some stuff out. Not really sure how to move the map yet though, I tried it before and just got the map to re-color over itself, which was really odd.
Are you going to add the "Move-Map" option soon?
@Jnorr44
I would REALLY appreciate this functionality, as I am currently filling in 4 large (i.e. zoomed out to the fullest extent) maps on creative using NODUS (For speed), bettersprinting, and /speed 10 while sprinting. There goes an hour.
@MrKorvic
I may get to this soon.
I don't know if someone else's suggested this, but is there a way/command that I can give staff to auto-fill a map? As in they create the map, then use the auto-fill command (whatever it may be, or end up being) and it will fill in the empty space as if they had just explored it. (Live with the map I would hope.) I don't even know if this'd be possible, but it would make a great addition!
@Thrystor
No, I tried to make this work, but I couldn't find anything that would allow me to change maps to that extent. This most likely just works in the Nether and the main world.
Does this work with multiworld plugins? I know by default maps are broken in worlds other than the main.
Fixed, thanks!
Just a heads up, your link for your plugins, is a link to whomever clicks it's plugins, not yours ;)
This is the actual link to your plugins. http://dev.bukkit.org/profiles/Jnorr44/server-mods/
@TerraVale Yes, pretty much anytime.
@Jnorr44
Ah sorry, what I meant was more along the lines of myself being busy tomorrow (what is now today) XD
Hopefully you'll be available next weekend, or some other time :)
@TerraVale Alright, I can start tomorrow. I've pretty much completed ZA, just waiting for iKeirNez to do his part. Should be good!
To download saros, (in eclipse) go to: Help>Install New Software, paste this into the work with box: Saros - http://dpp.sourceforge.net/update/ Then click finish, and it should install it for you, then just restart eclipse.
@Jnorr44
I have two of three spoken of elements, Saros being something I wasn't aware of... I shall go research it right now :)
As for teaching me first-hand, it would be much appreciated - though I'd like you to take priority over your current doings before such things.. Semi-busy with physics/psychology homework and the like.
I do understand the gist of programming itself, my dad being one who practically writes programs for a living, I've picked up some from him. (though no java, just C[plus plus] / C#). In this sense, getting me started with Java shouldn't be much of a hassle anyways!
@TerraVale Basically, I just learned primitive types first. Other than that, I dove in straight away, and after 12/13 weeks I am a fairly good Bukkit dev. If you need any help, I can teach you a great deal if you have the resources:
I am semi-busy now, since I just have to make minor modifications to ZA (my next major plugin), and so I have a bunch of time on my hands. If you would like, this weekend would be perfect, and I could teach you all the basics.
And yes, it did shoot up like crazy! I will be updating it once I figure out the math problem with the slight offset of the cursor compared to the MC default cursor.
@Jnorr44
Do you have any tips on learning Java, in general? Perhaps some resources that really helped (other than just diving into the gist of it using examples and small(er) tutorials-) you out in the long run.
I'm quite interested in Java programming, especially because Java is becoming/already is native to an incredible amount of technologically related devices commonly used in modern day society!
Now back on topic. Congratulations on reaching 1,000 (plus) downloads! Shot up there pretty quick, I must say :)
ANNOUNCEMENT
Thank you for 1,000 downloads!
The last few weeks I have been very busy with all sorts of plugins, and I spent my entire summer learning and writing Java. I really had a great time writing my plugins, and hope you enjoy them too. Although I had a lot of fun, these plugins do take time out of my day (most of it), and are sometimes very tedious. If you like my work, please click the donate button at the top of the page.
Again, Thank you for 1,000 downloads, and I hope to bring you many more updates in the future!
