Lightning Strike on Ban
Hello Minecrafters! This is my first plugin that I am putting on Bukkit and it causes lightning to strike at the location of a player who is about to be banned. If the player is offline at the time of the ban, then lightning will strike the spawn of the world that the person who bans them is located in. The lightning will not damage where it strikes.
This is basically more for fun than anything else, but it gives a bit of satisfaction when the player is banned.
This plugin is configurable to different servers. It has a spot in the configuration file for the node used for banning, and can also be changed to use a different command for banning (the default is /ban).
To have it work, simply add the node your server uses for banning to the config after "Ban Node: ". If you use a different banning command then "/ban" be sure to also change the command you use in "Ban Command: ".

Posted Jan 12, 2022I have to say, I love this plugin! So much so, that I have updated it to support 1.17.1. I tested it myself and it works as intended.

Because I used JDK17 during my update, the updated plugin will only load if the server runs Java 17.
In regards to continual support for the updated version of this plugin, I am not a developer in any way but I do have experience updating certain abandoned plugins others have made. As such, I do not know if I will be able to maintain this plugin but I will try to.
It should be noted that just because I updated the code does not mean I am taking credit for it. I have left the author information within the code untouched as per my code of ethics and everyone is welcome to check that for themselves if they wish.

Posted Oct 28, 2018Will this plugin work along side other plugins such as Litebans and Maxbans, So you can use their ban command but still get the lightning effect?
and does it strike the player when they get banned or just make a thunder noise

Posted Apr 22, 2012I like this plugin! A nice touch of Zeus for when players do bad. I noticed that this is your first plugin. If you need some more plugin practice I have a simple plugin that needs to be created. Its really simple, I need someway to make leaves decay like they used to in Beta 1.7. For example, if a log block is not in the range of 4 blocks from a leaf it will begin to decay. And this goes for natural and sheared leaves. If your interested PM me, and thanks for this plugin.
