HothGenerator
This world generator creates a real ice world that isn't just normal land covered with snow.
The plugin can actually generate more world types from the star wars movies (Tatooine, Dagobah and Mustafar worlds) but those are not described in detail here. You are left to explore and find all their secrets on your own.

This generator produces an icy world with a thick ice and snow layer and the occasional snow covered mountain. Hidden below you might find tiny caves where life that once inhabited the surface still survives and perhaps you'll find strange structures left over from some ancient civilization.
It also applies some extra rules to the world:
- Ice block, packed ice blocks and snow blocks drops as blocks
- Water placed in open air or above a certain level instantly freezes
- Lava placed in open air or above a certain level is turned into stone
- snow and ice does not melt
- No rain falls, only snow
- Plants doesn't grow if exposed to the sky
- Grass and mycelium dies under open sky if it can't spread into safety
- Slime does not spawn naturally above the stone layer
- Stay out at night and you will take damage from the cold
All rules are fully optional by editing the advanced options section in the configuration file.
Players can don an environment suit to protect themselves from the environment.
- Simply wear full armour with each piece with a name starting with
Environment
Commands to create a world:
STEP 1: You must add a new world to the HothGenerator configuration. This is done using the /hothaddworld
command.
/hothaddworld worldname type
Where "worldname"
is the name of your world and "type"
is one of hoth
, tatooine
, dagobah
or mustafar
.
STEP 2: Create the actual world.
If you are using the excellent MultiWorld plugin you can create a new world like this:
/mw create worldname plugin:HothGenerator
/mw load worldname
Do note that you should use the nether for the mustafar world. Use plugin_nether
above.
And for Multiverse:
/mv create worldname normal -g HothGenerator
or for a mustafar world:
/mv create worldname nether -g HothGenerator
@Neotician
Did you restart the server after updating the config file?
To those trying to use this with multiverse, the correct command is
/mv create (worldname) normal -g HothGenerator
I actually have an issue, the "rules" does not apply to the world generated, ice turns to water when broken which is a big bummer :/
I've added the worlds name to the config, didn't help.
I'm using 1.4.2 bukkit beta server and Multiverse plugin
@MineDelp
If you are using multiworld then use:
/goto hoth
If you didn't call it "hoth" then replace that with whatever name you gave the world.
How to go into hothworld?
@RedAndBlueReDux
I got the instructions for multiverse from DrMadFellow from earlier in this thread.
Should you get it to run then let me know. The HothGenerator config file has no effect on if the generator is used or not, it's entierly up to the multiworld plugin you are using.
@DaHollander
I've never used tekkit. However this generator puts some 1.4 content into the world so I don't know how that would affect somethign built on 1.2.5. Plus I don't generate any ores but the standard ones so it might feel a bit limited on a tekkit server. Currently there's no specific 1.2.5. or tekkit version of the HothGenerator.
Should you get it to run in tekkit then let me know how and I'll put up a description here. I've had a few requests from people with tekkit servers before.
Hello, this generator seems really cool! Though I am using tekkit which is based on mc CB 1.2.5 any idea where I could find that file? Thanks!
I'm running the latest version of MultiVerse, Bukkit CB 1.4.2-R0.2 and HothGenerator_1.2. When I use /mv create hoth normal g -HothGenerator it just creates default terrain, do you know what I'm doing wrong? The world hoth is selected in the config.
@OriginalMadman
Nice, and no problem :) I checked your dynmap and it looks great :)
Awesome - just added it as a new survival world - much appreciated by our players. Thanks orgin_org!
Takes forever to get a file approved. You can download 1.2 here:
http://dev.bukkit.org/media/files/645/185/hothgenerator.jar
It's the first 1.4.2 release.
Looks really cool! TIME TO MAKE SOME AT-AT's XD
You sould make some more :)
Looks real nice - Will probably add a Hoth survival world to the server once 1.4.2 version is out.
Since this has an MIT License, is there a place where I may see the source code?
@altair123ezio
I will as soon as the first recommended build of bukkit 1.4.2 is out.
please¡¡¡¡¡ update to 1.4.2 this is a the best plugin¡¡¡
@Darkeh57
Any suggestions that would fit an alien world?
Looks pretty cool! Are you planning on adding more surface populators?
I added a few images in the image section.
@DrMadFellow
Thanks, I've added an example to the description.
