Help Pages
Have you ever wanted to be able to customize /help with ease? Now you can!
Just make a file with the text, and you're good to go!
- Download the plugin
- Put it in your folder
- Run the server once
- Make a file in the HelpPages/Pages/ folder called Main.txt
- This is the main help file. You can now add whatever you want in it. If you want more files for more arguments, follow these steps
- Check the argument you want. Such as /help donor somerank.
- Make the file donor_somerank.txt in the HelpPages/Pages/ folder. Again, just put whatever you want in it.
- The underscore ( "_" ) represents a space in the command. So a file called "i_love_this_server.txt" would need the "/help i love this server" command.
To reload do /helpreload. This requires the helppages.reload permission.
2.0 has REVAMPED permissions! How do they work you may ask? Here's how.
Depending on which folder you put the text file into, that's your permission. So let's say you have two folders. One for op the other for default. If default doesn't have the op permission, it will open the first one. Since op has both permissions, it will open one of them (eh.. I should change this haha). So if the player has the permission on the folder, they can read the page!
@Dupstal
Eeh, never mind. I'll get this patched up quick =D
@PaulBGD
I always use Notepad+ +, but that does not solve my problem :( Ingame it writes strange letters instead of them.
@Dupstal
It looks like you have to change the encoding on the file. I would suggest Notepad + + if you use windows.
@Dupstal
I'll see what I can do.
I've tried to make special characters like [é,á,í,ö] but the plugin does not support them. :( Pls update the plugin or make a patch please :S
Take care! :D
@zifaun
I have a lot of plans for this plugin, so just hold on! :D
Group support would be helpful as there are different commands and permissions to each groups. It would be easier to display what is available to them with just /help and displaying the appropriate .txt.

Have your staff do /ehelp, its the essentials override. Also, /? should work fine. I don't do anything to it.
@TristonSmith24
I would like that too, please add that ultimate :)
Is there any way I could make it where players use this plugin as help but staff use the essentials plugin, this is becuase it wont let the staff view the big page with all the commands on it.
New version finally approved! Start downloading!
@PaulBGD
Works like a charm now, thanks a lot :D
@everystat13
Never mind, I figured it out now. I uploaded the latest dev to bukkit (as it should fully work now). Feel free to download off the dev server or bukkit(when it gets approved).
@everystat13
I haven't done much testing. I'll check it out now.
Also, most file issues are because of operating systems. Are you having any Access Denied errors in console? And what OS is your server ran on?
@PaulBGD
Still no folders being created with that .jar, could it have something to do with the fact I am using Spigot instead of Bukkit?
@everystat13
Yeah, I messed up files on the jenkins. Try getting the HelpPages.jar file.
@PaulBGD
I tried the latest dev (1.4.1) and it refuses to load, I have a pastie of the error at http://pastie.org/8187500
@TheCoolGuy123_5_Minecraft_
Huh?
@TheFrecyboy
It should work fine, but you can always use a dev build otherwise.
Can you Please Update This Plugin??????
It works fine for 1.6.2
I already had the files created in 1.5.2
