FilmMaker
Introducing FilmMaker, a command-based take on Minecraft filmmaking!
Change your movement speed with ease (and more soon to come) to allow for more professional, precise filming on your Bukkit-powered Minecraft server. Eliminating the annoying need to crouch and install mods to get right the speed you want, FilmMaker allows you to take control your movement speed with a single command.
Originally made as a small request for another user, I'm deciding to add more features and functionality to a potentially very useful plugin for anyone serious about their recording careers. Currently, it has the ability to slow you down and speed you up by 6 different speeds to allow you to take more precise shots and scenes where punctuality is key.
Commands:
- /filmmaker - Plugin info and version number
- /filmmaker off - Turns off any and all active Film Maker effects
- /filmmaker help [Page] - Command help for Film Maker
- /filmmaker slow [#1-6] - Slows your movement from levels 1-6, with 6 being the strongest
- /filmmaker slow off - Turns off any active slowing effects
- /filmmaker fast [#1-6] - Speeds up your movement from levels 1-6, with 6 being the strongest - I highly recommend putting your FoV on as low as it can go when using this feature.
- /filmmaker fast off - Turns off any active speeding effects
Permissions:
- filmmaker.* - Gives holder access to every Film Maker command
- filmmaker.slow - Gives holder access to all slowing commands
- filmmaker.fast - Gives holder access to all speeding commands
While there aren't any bugs (yet), there are some current limitations.
Fortunately, they have very easy fixes.
To-do list:
- Eliminate the cosmetic bubbles that appear when an effect is in use
- Add new /filmmaker speed commands to give the user higher speed - Done
- Add new /filmmaker jump commands to give the user more powerful jumps
If you find any bugs or have any suggestions at all, please don't hesitate to speak your mind! I'd love to hear feedback on what works and what you'd like to see. If a suggestion is plausible for me to code and inside the scope of FilmMaker, then there's a very good chance I'll add it!

Are you updating this to 1.7
@Tzsara
I can't control what clients' computers do
--
if it were possible through Bukkit, you would be seeing a lot of plugins that abuse that feature and spam clients in many different ways.I've seen Spout plugins that can take screenshots, but I'm not a Spout developer and don't plan to be any time soon. If you really want this feature, you could go and make a request for it on the Spout forums.
Can you also make this good for time lapses and take screenshots every x seconds? :)
@Creeper5589
Are you requesting that I update this?
I would want this plugin so i can do other stuff! (It was my second comment just like the first one)
@DarkRiddles
All it does is give a slowing/speeding potion effect :)
Quite rudimentary, yes, but I made this just when I was starting to work with Bukkit. The source for this is absolutely horrendous, I feel like a buffoon knowing that I created this.
If there were any more interest in this, I could do a complete recode in about 10 minutes, adding many more features and completely eliminating the bubble effects from the potions, but sadly, I don't think many people would use it even then.
So If I get this right, all this does is change your flying speed movement right?
Wow, over 1000 downloads. I thought there would be barely any interest in this plugin, I guess I was wrong. Thanks everybody!
@lol768
That's too bad. I think I've actually gotten rid of the bubble effects though, I'm just too lazy to go through the whole plugin and replace the old code with the new code. I'm too lazy to do a lot of things these days...
@devilquak
yeah, the setWalkSpeed is a client bug unfortunately. I managed to slow down creative flying (it takes a float, check f3 for normal value and see if you can reduce it).
@lol768
Actually, I'm testing it out right now and it seems pretty undeveloped so far. The only thing it will let me do is either make the creative flying speed insanely fast or insanely fast and backwards... player.setWalkSpeed does nothing and I can only use 1 and -1 values, so it might not actually work out.
@lol768
They just added that about 3 days ago, so it's new API and not in an official release, so very few people actually have the Craftbukkit build with that new feature in it. If I release it before a new RB comes out, anyone who doesn't have CB 2205+ will have the plugin spit out a nasty error when they try and load it.
But yes, it looks like a very nice new feature, I'll probably use it once they release a new RB. Will save me a lot of time from trying to git rid of the bubbles, thanks for telling me about it.
@devilquak
Why not use the player.setFlySpeed() method?Then this would work for flight, without visible effects.

@SpikeDB
Yes, /filmmaker help will give you all the commands that are currently coded in. I'm adding many more very shortly.
@SpikeDB
i guess type /filmmaker...
how do u use it
