EggCatcher
EggCatcher
This plugin allows the players to get the new Spawn Eggs from Minecraft 1.1 by throwing regular eggs at mobs. It is intended to be simple to set up and use. The plugin is open source and can be forked on github. If you make any changes, pull requests are appreciated.

- Respects animal protection plugins such as GriefPrevention
- Compatible with all trading plugins.
- Very simple, throw an egg at a mob and it will be turned into a spawn egg.
- Permissions support.
- Configurable catch chance.
- Configurable cost (vault support, or items).
- Explosion effects.
Installation and requirements
Vault is not required unless you intend to use it
Download the jar file and the configuration file will be generated on the first startup.

It doesn't but I like the idea. If you want it now and is not using an economy plugin you can probably use EconXP. With that plugin you would be able to do what you are asking for.
is it possible the set the cost to xp?
@rodeyseijkens
I assume you talk about WorldGuard. I think the best way is to find a generic way to do it if that's possible. If it's not possible to do it in a generic way, I may look into a way to override the catch from other plugins, so that separate plugins could be made for separate protection plugins. I basically just want the main plugin to be as basic as possible, to maintain stability and compatibility. I'm going to look into it this weekend.
@shansen1
Could you add the option to check if players are owners on the region, so they can't catch mobs that are not in the region they own, or based on the building flag or something like that.
I'm willing to add that feature myself so look out for an fork on GitHub
@xdazza7
Awesome video. :D
I don't understand what you mean when you say that you have to be OP in order to use it. Everyone can use it. Either you give your players access through permission nodes, or if you are not using permissions you can disable it in the configuration file.
Hey I made like a little video one what this plugin does. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJb8ZOpOvQU&feature=plcp
@shansen1
You are a lifesaver. xD thank you so much. everybody will love this
@shansen1
Can't you share a link? Takes too long :P
@bob2244
@rodeyseijkens
I can see that now. It's fixed in v1.18 which has just been uploaded.

I have the same problem with the config file that it gets overwritten on restart...
@shansen1
Thats the problem, before posting that comment i tried that a few times, but the config file keeps being overwritten. :( any tips?
@bob2244
You can disable permission checking in the plugins/EggCatcher/config.yml file. Just change UsePermissions: true to UsePermissions: false
I'm a total noob at this, but when a player (non op) tries to use it it says they dont have permissions. Do i need to get permissionsbukkit or change a file already there?
@weja93
The ocelot permission seems to work fine on my server?
@weja93
Good point :) . I'll get it fixed.
Where is Ocelot permission? :O
Awesome plugin, works like a charm!
@ConcernedCitizen
that's very negative and outright rude
@shansen1
sorry, i think i didn't have comments Sub'd
@shansen1
thanks for finding and fixing it sorry i wasn't able to help
@cvxx7q
I've looked into it further. Looks like it happens if you have Vault installed but not an economy plugin. This is fixed in v1.17 which has just been uploaded.
@cvxx7q
1.16 works perfectly on my 1.2.4 server. Can you try and run it without any other plugins and a clean configuration file?
I think it might be related to Vault / iConomy. Do you have and of these plugins installed?
@ConcernedCitizen
I fix most problems almost immediately after they are posted here. So I'm not sure what you are referring to?
