What is CustomSpawners?
CustomSpawners lets you make any block a mob spawner! These spawners can be of any type, have many configurable properties, and can be hidden because materials like stone, grass, even air can be a spawner block! After creation, you can use it like in-game MCEdit to make custom mob spawner blocks too!
The mob types can be customized as well. Create mobs for your spawners like giant slimes that have only half a heart of health, different colored sheep, and if you want the ultimate boss, try giants or charged creepers with damage resistance and regeneration potion effects! You can even change how mobs take and deal damage!
Some Ideas for CustomSpawners:
- Make multiplayer dungeons with mobs that only appear when you get close!
- Make arenas with powerful waves of mobs!
- Create puzzles that won't turn off a spawner until solved!
- Create entities that can only be damaged from certain items or objects!
- Make ultra-dynamic dungeons that change depending on the amount of players in them!
- Make Custom Mob Spawners in-game! (No MCEdit required!)

Installing
Simply download the CustomSpawners jar file from the download button above, and drop it in you plugins directory. Make sure you only have one version of CustomSpawners in the directory. After that, you can refer to the configuration page on the wiki for configuration of the plugin.
Basic Usage
I strongly recommend watching the tutorial series! I go into much more depth there.
To make a spawner, follow these steps!
- Login to your server.
- Run the command "/cse create <type of entity>" where "<type of entity>" is a mob like a pig or zombie. Note the GOLD ID number printed on screen.
- Select the entity with "/cse select <id>" where "<id>" is the golden ID given to you.
- You can set properties to the mob now, all of which are listed on the wiki.
- Now look at the block you want to make a spawner on, and run "/css create". You will see a ID number in gold for the spawner too.
- Select the spawner with "/css select <id>" where "<id>" is the golden spawner ID given to you.
- Make the spawner work in any light level by running "/css maxlight 15".
- Turn on the spawner with "/css on" and watch the mobs spawn!
Some other useful commands:
- "/customspawners" - displays the plugin info, and provides links to the main page for CustomSpawners and thebiologist13's BukkitDev profile.
- "/css on [id]" - Turns a spawner on.
- "/css off [id]" - Turns a spawner off.
- "/css listall" - list all the existing spawners and locations.
- "/cse listall" - list all the existing entities and their names if they have one.
- "/css setname [id]" - gives a spawner a name so it is easier to find.
- "/cse setname [id]" - gives an entity a name so you can identify it easier.
Development and Downloads
CustomSpawners is currently in Beta and may have a few bugs here and there. Many features will be modified, added, or improved on soon! You can download these versions from the download button above.

No, it's not that. This is a completely different option under the redstone one.

Also make sure the spawner is active:
/spawners setactive [id]
So I set a spawner to spawn when powered by redstone and then powered it and nothing happened. So I did /css info and it says it's enabled but there's another feature under it that says "Spawn when powered" and it's set to false. I have no idea how to change it to true and couldn't find anything on the wiki.

Yep! Just released v0.2! You might have to use the mirror link to get it though until the file is approved by a Bukkit moderator.

The one I have right now is sort-of a development build (i.e. debugging the new features and making sure everything is working). Then I will release an official v0.2.1 once I've finished debugging.

I'm with HockeyMike24 on this. My players are getting antsy about the dungeons being closed for so long. This is the best plugin out there for this! I'm far more interested in a working build than any new features! I rely too heavily on this plugin I'll admit it. Being without it for two weeks is making me a saaaaaaad panda... I mean sad admin. :-P
My anxiousness has everything to do with how invaluable a plugin you've created here, don't be offended! I'm a CustomSpawners fanboy!
Please release a stable version, with or without new features. My server really needs this plugin. Thanks. :)

No crashes saved in "plugins/CustomSpawners/Crashes". I'm sure it'll work with the update I'm not worried!

Hi!
It does look like it cannot properly load the data for a spawner. If you can, I would try fixing this by reverting from Bukkit 1.4.7-R0.2 to Bukkit 1.4.6-R0.3; they might load then. Otherwise, were any crashes saved in "plugins/CustomSpawners/Crashes"? If they were, please PM me the contents. If neither of those are possible, I will have the next update out in a few days, and I will double check the saving/loading.

Yes I get the following message on server boot with CB 1.4.7 R.02:
[Server] SEVERE Error occurred while enabling CustomSpawners v0.1 (Is it up to date?)
The plugin appears to be working for the most part with the notable exception that it will not recognize the .dat files for spawners. Entities seem to work just fine strangely enough. The following commands act weird: /spawners list returns "no spawners have been created yet" even though the .dat files can been seen on the server in the appropriate folder. /customspawners reload returns "an internal error occurred while trying to process this command"

Sorry, I didn't see that you said that you already set that. The item drops as a full-durability item, correct? And in the amount that they have in their inventory? I will look into either way. I have already made many fixes for v0.2 too.

UMMMi'm sure that i set custom drop be true but is still having a low probability to drop the inventory this probalility is about 1/20

I am still loving every update you send out and satisfied at every bug fix that you correct, and just letting you know that what everything you're doing is absolutely amazing that you have my full interest for a long while.
As we all may know, This mod you have created provides a lot of fun, useful and surprising features, the only words I may add would be, "How CANT this mod be perfect?" With every update though, I'm surely convinced that you will achieve total perfection; This mod shall be soaring with the TOP mods, possibly becoming the best quality - "ADVENTURE ESSENTIALS"

Hmm, I will look into it for you problem with drops. Make sure you have "Use Custom Drops" set to "true", otherwise it drops their inventory instead.

I think the problem might be that CustomSpawners isn't loading all of the data on a spawner, making it always return invalid conditions for spawning. I will make sure that v0.0.6 files will load properly in v0.2 for sure! :D

For the data not loading right, was there any error in the console or a crash report? If so, please PM me with it. Also, CustomSpawners v0.1 is a bit unstable with 1.4.7 builds of Bukkit right now, but it will be totally fixed with CustomSpawners v0.2!

I absolutely LOVE this plugin and all the adventures it allows me to create for players on my SMP server - especially the redstone-powered feature. Unfortunately as I'm sure you know it no longer will read my /spawners database file and /customspawners reload doesn't work since updating my server to 1.4.7. I look forward to the promised update! Keep up the good work this is a fantastic plugin!!!
