ChunkKeeper
You have a huge redstone complex that is so big that not everything is loaded?
You want to teleport players to an unloaded place and it always lags?
Then this plugin is exactly right for you!
What does it do?
This plugin allows you to define chunks or bigger regions and to never let them unload!
The selected chunks/regions won't unload when you move far away.
They'll even be loaded automatically when the server shuts down and starts again!
Where to use it
Example 1
Let's say you've built a huge redstone complex.
It is a great invention and the redstone works perfectly.
There's only one problem: The whole complex is so big that not all pieces of the complex are loaded at the same time because you are too far away!
Here comes the solution! ChunkKeeper!
Simply select your whole redstone complex and tell ChunkKeeper to keep it loaded!
It's that simple!
Example 2
Let's say you have a big server and you have some warp points that are currently not loaded.
Sometimes when you want to teleport to these points the server lags or you are in the void and it takes some seconds to load the world.
The solution is ChunkKeeper!
Again simply select the warp point and tell ChunkKeeper to keep it loaded!
The server lags or void-spawning will disappear!
Commands
- /keepchunk: The chunk you are currently in won't unload anymore.
- /releasechunk: The chunk you are currently in will be able to unload again (if it was selected for keeping loaded before)
- /keepregion: The region you have selected with the wand (wooden axe by default) won't be unloaded anymore. Please note that this function requires WorldEdit to work.
- /releaseregion: The selected region will be able to unload again. This function requires WorldEdit too.
- /releaseall: This funtion releases ALL regions and chunks that are selected for keeping loaded.
Permissions
The only permission for this plugin is: chunkkeeper.
All commands of this plugin require this permission.
Of course it'll also work if you are OP.
I recommend a permisison plugin like GroupManager or PermissionsEx.
Requirements
It is optional to run this plugin with WorldEdit. Commands like /keepregion and /releaseregion require the WorldEdit plugin.
You can find it here: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-mods/worldedit/

This still works in spigot 1.8, but it makes lag spikes every 4 seconds. Check it with a fast redstone clock. The Reloaded version 1.2 lags also.
@DynamicThijs
The link is broken. Can you fix it? I loved this plugin when it worked!
Hey guys, I used your plugin for a while and now that I'm not using anymore, the areas that I use to get loaded, can't load anymore, and everytime that I get near the chunks I get stuck!
Any ideas to "realease" those chuncs since I don't have the plugin folder anymore?
Thanks!
Thankyou for this great plugin!
This seems to be working well for me, provided I do not leave the world I want some chunks to be loaded in.
I read that this is only in Beta mode, but I would like to know if it can be fixed soon?
I have a small server that I am launching into a (hopefully) Massive, public server for anyone to come on, and I don't want lagg spikes when someone leaves/enters a world, instead, I would spend resources in the long term to reduce lagg spikes due to them being more noticeable.
If you can send me a message with when it can be done, if it can be done and if/when it is done, I will be most thankful of you.
dead???
Please Please Please a 1.7.2 - 1.7.4 version My Ultimate Clock needs it. This most Awesome Clock is 2 years in the running and is sob sob stopped.
Great plugin, been waiting for a 1.7.2 release though.
Any idea how long it'll take? My minecart/metro system is inactive :(
@MinecraftShamrock:
I have sent you a PM like you said to do if anyone was still interested in this plugin being active again and updated , so i did so i really hope you decide to update this plugin and im sure om not the only one that feels this way...Thanks!
if no one in the server, chunkloader didn't work?
Yeah, a 1.7.2 version would be great :D
Not working on 1.7.2, would be great if a new update comes out! thanks for your effort! :)
@codiaz
My iron golem farm isn't working either. (Build 2969)
Ty very much ! I try this pluggin to get my iron foundry working even if i close the server and it seem working . Thx a lot !!!
@MinecraftShamrock
1.7.2 is out and I think it doesn't work, at least the redstone gets unloaded :((((
1.7.2 is out!
I just uploaded a new version of ChunkKeeper. But there's no version of Bukkit for 1.7.2 yet so it runs with the newest Recommended Build (1.6.4 R2.0)
PROJECT RELOADED!
I just started working on a 1.7 version :D I think the 1.7 version is going to be released next weak. :D
Oh and besides... I have had a look on the MCStats ranking. ChunkKeeper is currently on ranking 500. I think that's quite nice :D I think I'll add some special features as soon as we reach ranking 400.
INACTIVE
If anybody really needs this plugin I'll update it but for now it's inactive. If you need this plugin PM me and I'll reopen it.
Hi,I can't seem to get chunkkeeper to work on a debian(stable) server running java6. I'm assuming its compiled with java7. Strange considering minecraft is compiled with java6 i think!. Anyone have any thoughts on this. Would be much appreciated.
