Economy

ChessCraft supports all the Economy plugins supported by Vault. You will need Vault installed if you want to use ChessCraft's economy features.

With an active Economy plugin, you can bet Economy credits on a game, by setting a stake. This works as follows:

  • There is a global default stake for all games, which is a configurable item: stake.default. This is 0 by default.
  • There is also a per-board default stake, which can be set with /chess board set default_stake ... while standing on the board. This defaults to -1, which means use the global default. Any value of 0 or greater overrides the global default stake.
  • It is possible to lock the stake on a per-board basis, meaning players can't change it. Use /chess board set lock_stake <true|false> while standing on the board to change this. By default, stakes are not locked.
  • After you create a game but before you invite anyone, you can use the /chess stake command to set a stake for the game.
  • You can also alter the stake using the board's control panel. Left-click the Stake button to increase the stake, right-click to decrease it. If you hold Shift (sneak), the stake will increase/decrease by an alternate amount (see the stake.smallIncrement and stake.largeIncrement configuration items)
  • When the game starts, both you and your opponent will have the stake deducted from your current balance.
  • The game winner takes all the money, and the loser gets nothing. If the game is a draw (or is deleted before it is finished), both players get their original stake back.

You can also bet money against AI players; their balance can be considered to be infinite. It is also possible to set payout multipliers for different AI engines and strengths - see AI for more details on how to do this.
