CHDistantFarm
CHDistantFarm is a lightwight and highly optimized plugin that keeps your plants growing when you're away and the chunk is unloaded.
Features:
- Keeps ur plants growing, while the chunk is unloaded
- Supports all important plants
- Nether Warts
- Crops
- Melons
- Pumpkins
- Cactus
- Sugar Cane
- Saplings
- Uses the original minecraft algorithms
- Low level caching for maximum performance
- Auto unregistering of plants if they are fully grown or destroyed
Installation:
- Put the plugin in your plugins directory
- The plugin uses the database from your bukkit.yml (default is sqlite)
- Replant the blocks that you want to grow when the chunk is unloaded
- Edit the configuration file
Upcomming:
- PermissionsEx support
- Disable the features for a specific player
- Disable growing for a plant on a specific world
Known bugs:
- Growing does not work for the spawn area
- Thats a minor issue, because the spawn chunk is always loaded, and the game will grow your plants without the plugin

@gettyy
He's been offline since August 15th. I think contacting him now is pointless.
Would you perhaps be able to re-do this plugin from scratch?
Or would that be too much work?
@CarrotPCdude
This does not work with 1.4, I want to try and update it but i have not head back from the original developer.
@diannetea
Can you confirm whether it works with 1.4? If not, do you know of any alternatives?
Very sad about :( good plugin..

not even a chance for update
This works fine with 1.3.2 for the record.
I certainly hope it will be updated for 1.4 though :)
Up to date with 1.3.2???
is this plugin working with 1.3.2?
Looks like this is abandoned. :-(
I hope someone else is able to update it in the future, because this plugin is great!
Update?
You said back on August 12th you were updating within a week. What happened to that?
Still lagging the server badly, I've cleared the SQLite DB and I've tried using 2 different MySQL databases, but they don't seem to be doing anything different. Both are lagging the server.
Any plans to update to 1.3.1 >_>
Any plans to make this work with animals and to update to 1.3.1?
Can these functions be split? I'm more interested in the growth rate configuration and would love a mod that would do that alone.
If you had the hook to affect growth rate I'd be happy to write a mod that only did that.
@midnighte2
Bingo!
I imagine the way this mod works is that, when a chunk is unloaded the mod saves the time that the chunk is unloaded. When the chunk is loaded again, it checks the current time to the saved time and finds out how long the chunk was unloaded. Then as the game loops through all the blocks and loads them back into memory, the mod looks for crops and runs the Minecraft growth code on them however many times it thinks is appropriate based on the time they were unloaded.
All that needs to be done for the furnaces is, when it loads a furnace, figure out how long it was unloaded for, divide that by 8, and then smelt that many items. Just remove from the input slot and remove from the output slot. Granted, it's probably more like 10-20 lines of code to account for half-using a piece of fuel and making sure it doesn't smelt more than it has the fuel to, but it's not a crazy large change.
@xboxhacks
Since its only 1 additional item, I am sure it wouldn't be hard to add, and to simply recreate an entirely different mod to add the exact same features as Chdistantfarm has, would be dumb. Its what a few extra lines of code?
@xboxhacks
Well of course! That goes with everything! The entire point of bukkit is tailor your server to your desire. A plugin without fine-grained control is a pretty bad plugin that's asking to be replaced, if you ask me.
@TomatoCo
i would only like it added if i can disable it.
I certainly hope this will eventually work with 1.3.1. This is one of my favorite mods and on my short list of recommended must-haves. For now, I am using MachinaPlanter to make it less of a hassle...although I hate going on a trip for days and come back to a still freshly planted field. grrrr.
Thanks, LHammonds
