CHDistantFarm
CHDistantFarm is a lightwight and highly optimized plugin that keeps your plants growing when you're away and the chunk is unloaded.
Features:
- Keeps ur plants growing, while the chunk is unloaded
- Supports all important plants
- Nether Warts
- Crops
- Melons
- Pumpkins
- Cactus
- Sugar Cane
- Saplings
- Uses the original minecraft algorithms
- Low level caching for maximum performance
- Auto unregistering of plants if they are fully grown or destroyed
Installation:
- Put the plugin in your plugins directory
- The plugin uses the database from your bukkit.yml (default is sqlite)
- Replant the blocks that you want to grow when the chunk is unloaded
- Edit the configuration file
Upcomming:
- PermissionsEx support
- Disable the features for a specific player
- Disable growing for a plant on a specific world
Known bugs:
- Growing does not work for the spawn area
- Thats a minor issue, because the spawn chunk is always loaded, and the game will grow your plants without the plugin

Well its more then 10 chunks from the location my plants were at to the spawn, tried being logged off and try being in another world. I'll take a look at it again.
@shintarutaru
You have to be at least 10 chunks (160 blocks) away. But that depends on your server settings (view-distance in your server.properties file). Or maybe you are using some kind of plugin that keeps your chunks loaded.
Just installed this on my server running MC 1.1 and it does not seem to be functioning at all at the moment. Replanted some tree's melons and sugar cane and then proceeded to go several chunks away afk for a hour came back and no change to the plantlife.
@TfT_02
The plugin cant cause any chunk corruption. It uses the main server thread for all grow operations so async chunk & block access is impossible.
@Kane_Hart
I guess you wont notify any major lags. The plugin will auto unregister plants like crops or nether warts if they are fully grown.
Also a bit scared on how well this works on say a 80+ Player server in a World 16,000 x 16,000. Yeah the point is only new growth hehe. But I wonder what would happen say months down the road. My world is over 400 days old and we don't ever wipe so just the thought of it haha.
@ZacGod
The algorithm is highly optimized. In my own tests it took less than 10ms to grow a chunk, but this depends on your cpu speed, the number of registered plants per chunk and the time between unloading and growing.
@Zombiemold
Try out the new version. I removed the debug messages :)
@Zombiemold
I was afraid to try it but it sounds awesome! How is the performance?
This plugin works great, but spams the server console with messages about growing chunks.
Would love a version that doesn't do this so I can read my console while not in game.
