WitherShot
WitherShot
Be the Wither!
What is it?
WitherShot is a simple, lightweight plugin designed to let you shoot wither skulls from your bow! If you've ever battled the Wither, you know how he shoots the wither skulls from his head – well, now you can become the Wither!
With a simple command, you can switch from using wither skulls to arrows to wither skulls to arrows! You can fire out the wither skulls on other players and deal damage and the wither poison effect to your enemies! This also makes a great donor command as well by using the simple permission system that is built into the plugin!

Stats
This plugin utilises Hidendra's Plugin Metrics system, which collects and sends information to mcstats.org, such as the server's version of Java, what version of the plugin is being used, what type of operating system my plugin is being used on, and more. This is also what powers the graph above! For more info, please click here.
Automatic Updating
This plugin utilizes the BukkitDev auto-updating API to help keep this plugin up-to-date automatically on your server. By having this enabled, every time your server starts up, it will check this BukkitDev page for any new updates, and if there is a new version available, it will install it and update it for you automatically.
This feature is enabled by default; however, if you do not wish to have it enabled, you can opt out by changing the "auto-update" to "false" in the config.yml. We recommend you keep it on so that you do not have to worry about updating the plugin in the future!

I just uploaded the latest release of the plugin! Bukkit should have it approved soon, so stay on the lookout for /ws reset!
@LoganDad
To do this, you will need to use a permissions plugin to make groups and assign permissions to those groups. My preferred permissions plugin is PermissionsEx. However, before you look at that, I'd highly recommend reading this wiki entry about what exactly permissions are first.
Thanks, had to install Java 1.7, had to add the "path" like it says in the Bukkit Server wikki, figured out the gamemode settings in the server.properties file for creative, set myself up in the "ops" list so I can use the "withershot enable" command and it WORKS! Yeah! Now...how can I give players on my server permission to use the withershot enable command without adding everyone to the "ops" list? How do you use the withershot.fire permissions?
Thanks, this is fun!
Thanks jflory7, I will try this tonight.
@LoganDad
Hey LoganDad,
It sounds like what you're trying to do is make WitherShot into a single-player mod. Bukkit is software that is used for creating multiplayer Minecraft servers. WitherShot is a plugin that is made to work with Bukkit. In order for you to use my plugin, you will need to use Bukkit and create a server. By my guesses, you're just trying to do this in single-player, so you could probably create a local Minecraft server (that is, making it so anyone on your WiFi network can connect, which is much easier). I recommend that you read this wiki entry about setting up a Bukkit server.
Hi, would love to try this plugin, but cannot get it to work, Must I have some other plugin already in place? Is there a permissions issue? I've made a copy of the 1.7.4 minecraft folder, renamed the .json and the .jar file, changed the .json file to the new name for the .jar file, and copied in the contents of the withershot.jar file. I've tried to get the plugin to work with and without the "...INF" folder deleted. Please help, my son disparately wants to be the wither!
@georgaki
I could add snowballs as a fireable object.
Can you make a plugin that you can shot snowballs with your bow without using a command?
@kdthehun
This is a really awesome idea, and frankly, I hadn't even thought of arrows. I will have to do some homework on hooking it into an economy plugin, but I can't imagine it being too difficult.
I would GREATLY appreciate if you put this into a ticket for me so I can add it to my milestones! Thanks!
How about making it into Arrows with Lore? Entering the command would give you say 32 arrows with the specific Lore and even if the player has Infinity on the bow, i'm sure it can be coded so with each shot a Arrow with the Lore is removed. I think it would also be easier to hook it into an economy plugin or Vault for having a costs to the Arrows. Entering the command would not only give you the arrows but also deduct a specified sum of ingame money or item from your inventory.
Just a thought.
This is grate with disguisecraft xP
@mkezar
Thanks for the support! It really means a lot! I will continue working on these said things over the course of the next few weeks. Stay posted for more details!
This is an awesome plugin!!! I think it would be a good idea to have volume so when you fire the skull it makes a wither sound. and what flyerminer said a cooldown would be nice :) But still, its an epic plugin :)
@Flyerminer
I will look into trying to add this ASAP. I am busy with my school studies, but this should be doable :)
