Better snow
Description
This plugin basically allows snow to "go through" leaves and set on leaves that are under and on ground under trees.
Features
- When snowing, the snow placed on leaves will be placed under as well
- Automatically places snow under already-placed snow on leaves
Installation
- Download jar and place it in your plugins folder. (http://wiki.bukkit.org/Installing_Plugins)

Change log
See changelog in the download for now, I'll put up a full changelog once it's out of beta.
To do list
- Improve performance
- More options for snow gap filling: on chunk load (current behaviour), slow and constantly always, slow and constantly only when it snows
- Add configurable chance to drop snow whenever snow is mined with a shovel
- Add configurable blocks that shouldn't have snow on them
- Add configurable blocks that should allow the snow to 'pass through'
@devilquak
well devil its possible if you spawn a falling snow block entity at the tall grass countiniously .. but it will lag a lot if you have a lot of them nearby
also its possible to make snow working if you check player destroys grass .. and you can spawn a snow instead of falling block entity
@Dogtag93
Tall grass and snow/snow tiles are both blocks, not possible to place two blocks in the same space.
Is it possible to get tall grass and snow to share the same block? Because it looks bad with spots of tall grass and snow together. Also can we get snow on stairs and slab blocks as well?
I would also like the snow above x so everything in snow biomes will be covered regardles of height.
Does this need an update to work with craftbukkit-1.4.7-R1.0 ?
New Request: Snow above X so I can have snowy mountain tops :)
Is there any way this could go through long grass?
@Seoxiwleto
Ah yes, CraftBook... alot of weird things that one has =)
Just for info, to disable that, go in CraftBookMechanisms/config.yml:
Set that to false ofc :}
Gotcha, thank you for the assist x.x We're not sure where to turn.
Is it possible that even removing the plugin that does this -would NOT- stop this from happening? Just wanna make sure we can tell when it's fixed.
Thanks again!
EDIT:
AH! It was craftbook, and I never would have guessed as much. Thanks a million for your help!
@Seoxiwleto
Piling up snow ? This plugin doesn't do that. :}
I don't have any idea what plugin might do that tough, you should look at your plugin list, see which ones are related to world editing and re-read their descriptions, one of them might have that feature.
For some reason, snow is randomly piling up up to one block in height in our server and we think that this plugin (or one of the same name) may have been the one to cause it. We deleted the plugin but are still getting really ugly patterns of 1/8-8/8 snow blocks that make running around feel like we're on the moon.
Any idea if this plugin was the culprit, and if so, how to fix it? It's really annoying D:
I uninstalled it for a while, reinstalled it and it works. Do you ever want to strangle computers? I do
Plugin works, I've just re-tested it, you have something wrong there... tell me how you installed it.
This is not working on my server (1.3.1) no errors or anything, just no snow underneath things.
@azot4o
You should add a ticket and post the entire error so I can investigate :}
I'm getting lots of errors " [SEVERE] Could not pass event ChunkLoadEvent to Better snow", I think it has something to do with NoLagg plugin, but i never had them before i installed Better Snow.
Well, currently I got into working on this again... but I think I'm going to complicate this as well, making a custom snowing code to allow more customization.
So, features to come:
So, if anyone has any other suggestions, make them now :P
Amazing, this simple fix deserves MUCH more attention :D
Yay another fix plugin I love it :)
@Digi add it to where snow can't form on some blocks "editable config"
