BDchat
Welcome.
Links are down below for commandsThe documentation is currently outdated for this plugin. Most of the docs are still correct, and the rest will be updated soon.
Overview
BDchat aka Blocky Development Chat adds chat channels to your Minecraft server! There are several different types of channels you can use, and they are made to be configurable as possible meaning that you can make your own channels, and you can add as many channels as you want to. You can also set permissions to set who can talk and/or view messages sent in a certain channel.

- How to Help
- - If you are a programmer and would like to help me make this plugin I uploaded it to Github!
- - If you are not a programmer, but you have ideas on how to improve the default channels submit your changes to the config file on Github!
- - Of course, we also need people to know that this plugin exists! Let the admins of your server know about this plugin!
Update News
BDchat v3.0 released!
BDchat v3.0 released!
Please check the change log for more information about this release! It is currently beta, and you can expect a stable release soon.
@Hangar
No, there is not currently a reload command. unfortunately I have not been developing much lately, but please create a ticket and I will try to add the command at some point.
Is there a reload command? I tried 'bdchat reload' but I'm not sure that's working. It would sure help with testing/setting up.
@GreenGrizzlyBear
All this plugin does is channels. It works well with Essentials Chat also.
Could this work along side essentials chat, or other chat plugins? Because I kind of want the channels feature, but thats about it x.x
If they can't work together, could you make a seperate plugin, with just the channels?
Thanks either way :)

Update to v3.1. If you still have the issue create a ticket with the error log. Version 3.1 was a major bug fix update so it will most likely fix your problem.
Hello can you tell me what is causing this?

Version 3.1 has just been released. This update fixes all known errors for v3.0. The documentation will be updated soon as well.
NOTE: At the time of me posting this comment the update has not yet been approved, please wait patiently until it is.
Anyone running their servers on Linux machines should stick with v2.2 until v3.1 is released. There are some problems with v3.0 making it incompatible with most Linux systems. A fix will be released soon.
A configurable command alias will not be added with v3.0 of BDchat. There will be a single fixed alias "/ch" for "/cc", and you can add your own aliases using the Bukkit.yml file. Click here for a guide on how to do it!
Also, just an update on the development of this plugin. It has slowed some over the past weeks because I have started on another plugin which will be a land-claiming plugin with a clan/faction system. Click here for that plugin's page!
I just updated the license. All Rights Reserved was always just a temporary license, and now the project is under a GPLv3 license allowing for modification, redistribution, etc. I would appreciate if you would link people to this page rather than providing your own downloads, but you are free to do as you wish in that way as long as you do not try to re-license it or take the credit for it yourself.
We have changed the main page around a bit. It is not finished, and we will continue to update it until it is. If anyone notices anything missing from this page let us know. If you go to pages there is also an archive of the old main page if you can't find what you are looking for here.
Comments posted here might not be seen as soon as comments on the BukkitDev page. If anyone wants to post a comment please go there.

I believe what zombica was saying was to add a better shortcut so that instead of doing "/cc g hi" you could just simply do "g: hi" I will probably remove the old method and replace it with the new one.
Also, I have been busy rewriting major portions of the code to make it use less RAM, and overall run more efficiently. Once it is in working state I will upload the changes (probably later today).
EDIT: Changes are finished and are being uploaded to git-hub now now :D
@stevenmg
@Zombica09
Incase Neither of you have tried that already, it already works. /ch g hello is already working. and Steven, can you update the GitHub Page?
@Zombica09
The only supported chat manager currently is Essentials although it has not been tested with many others. If you look at the update news you will see that it is planned for the next version to improve support in that area. If you could send me a PM with the chat manager you are using that would be great!
As far as the trigger, I like the idea, and I will add it in the next version :D
If you want to be notified when the next version is released with these features make sure you check out the subscriptions tab as well for email updates!
Is it possible that this could be used without Essentials?
Also, a way that you could chat on a channel by typing a trigger instead of the command, Like this. g: Hi Not like this. /cc g Hi
I plan to add a lot of features with the next update so if anyone has a suggestion, now would be a good time to say it.
Whenever a new Bukkit version is released people ask for an updated version of the plugin. I test the plugin with every Bukkit beta build within a few days, and if it has any compatibility issues it is fixed right away! The current r0.1 build(v2.2) is 100% compatible with r0.2 of Bukkit.
EDIT: Plugin has been tested with 1.5.1 r0.3 and also with 1.5.2 r0.1 No bugs have been found.
I just updated the main page for BDchat v2.2! It adds some great new features that make the plugin easier to use. The command /BDchat (or /BDchat help) will display a message giving info about the plugin. This message is configurable, and you can change it however you want, and you can add as many lines as you want.

I believe pex permissions do work. The problem is with pex's chatmanager plugin.
