TorchThrow
TorchThrow
Info This plugin allows for long range torch placement in a very aesthetically pleasing manner. Rather than simply providing the player with long reach distance, this plugin allows players to throw 3D torches which stick to walls by pressing Q with a torch in their hand.
Permissions torchthrow.throw: allows a player to throw torches as described above torchthrow.magic: gives a player access to the /torchthrow command, which throws a torch without consuming one
TO-DO
- Optional timeout of thrown torches, ie they will break after a configurable amount of time and drop as an item
Updates
This plugin will be maintained indefinitely, however new functionality will only be updated if interest is shown, so post a comment, download, and make suggestions, this plugin is for you :D

this comment is just completely invalid. if you don't like spout noones making you use it. so please refrain from bringing up imaginary bugs that are simply nonexistent now. latest spout craft builds were amazing... Get accurate info or shh..
anyway great plugin, i remember using something similar to this once, and it had heaps of lighting issues, good job
lol what is all this hate on spout about, sounds to me none on you actually know what it is
for starters the plugin is named spoutplugin this plugin is required for servers running spoutcraft clients (minecraft players can still join and play but won't see or be able to use any of the custom things)
spoutplugin combined with spoutcraft allow servers to add custom items GUI's and other features that are currently not possible in bukkit or minecraft
(note that usually when a plugin says it depends on spoutplugin it means it has some kind of custom features that require spoutcraft to see, usually not having spoutplugin and spoutcraft will just affect those things that require it to be seen, but the rest of the plugin will still work fine.
an example of what i mean by custom is at http://i46.tinypic.com/mjsltj.png (no this does not require mods or tekkit or other things like that) it is simply requires spoutplugin (serverside) and spoutcraft (clientside launcher) and ofcorse the plugins that allow the creation of these things
on a side note Spout is the upcoming custom server software, written from the ground up (not a server mod like CraftBukkit).
while talking about bukkit/minecraft servers spoutplugin and spoutcraft are the ones that are used
(also they are still working on 1.4.5 so until it is done (expected this week) servers using spoutplugin are required to remain on 1.3.2 though they can update if they want to, and just re-add spoutplugin once it is updated but if you update to 1.4.5 you will lose all custom things until it is updated (not a big deal really)
@S1lverK3y
It should load the chunk for a single tick to drop the torch.
Really looking forward to "Optional timeout of thrown torches, ie they will break after a configurable amount of time and drop as an item". Any release dates yet? :D And, will the Chunks be loaded by the Plugin if an torch block would update by the timer? Would maybe eat some performance if it loads all the chunks with the torches on itself :/
@ViscousSummer88
It doesn't even matter anymore, SpoutPlugin isn't required -.-
@Malikk65
Haha, looks at plugin, loves it reads some comment...., LOL
@Llamasquishy
That's hardly a bug I would call game-breaking... lol.
@SnowGears
It IS possible, see RWTorchlight for example. I am working on removing the Spout dependency.
You can go ahead and remove "Option to have the torch entity emit light in the air." from your To-Do list as lighting takes place client side so this is impossible without a client-side mod. Also, I just want to let you know I didn't download this because it required an additional plugin. Thought it would be something for you to consider. Seems like a good idea though!
It's a shame that you would add SpoutPlugin as a requirement. Is there any way around it? In my experience, Spout is one of the most unreliable plugins out there. Sure, it gets updated regularly, but the amount of game-breaking bugs (such as causing the mining of ores to not drop experience) that get through to Release Builds makes the plugin unusable by most.

@Dustinduse
The reason you can't do this with axes is because axes aren't blocks, so they don't have a 3D model. I can do this with torches because all blocks have 3D models, which is how sand/gravel/ender dragon eggs fall.
I ran this plugin for awhile and when my players found out about it. the question was. Why cant we do this with axes... This would be awesome. Mainly for my Mob Arenas anyways. You should look into this. thrown axes maybe with a custom Crafting recipe so that you can craft a stack of 10. And a configurable damage amount. Thanks (:
I already can drop torches that's in my hand with Q.. Maybe you should change the information to a more.. informational information.
@poonjab1_0
I'm not sure what 1.4 has to do with that... I could conceivably create a mod right now that allows a player to hold an active redstone lamp, and have it emit light, even add in fuel costs.
once 1.4 comes out, you should make a lantern mod. That would amazing
Added the thing you have all been waiting for, torches stick to walls! You need to install SpoutPlugin, but your players need not use Spoutcraft, there are still NO CLIENT SIDE MODS REQUIRED, I have a feeling that someone is going to think that this requires Spoutcraft, IT DOES NOT REQUIRE SPOUTCRAFT, ONLY SPOUTPLUGIN
@Arko2
Has perms, and a grief protection update releases in a few days
A really cool plugin but i cant use it without perm and WG+Griefpervention support
nvm found a different plugin
