ShipwreckedWorldGen
Shipwrecked World Generator is a world generator designed for Bukkit. It generates islands of various sizes, including many realistic terrain features as further described on this page.
Highlighted Features:
- Realistic biome transitions
- Multiworld support
- Encourages exploration
- Randomly generated loottable structures (WIP)
- Extensive cave systems, discouraging strip mining, and encouraging exploration
Installation:
Multiverse:
- use /mvcreate worldname normal -g ShipGen
- Note: This build of Multiverse is required if you prefer not to have a bunch of errors in your log when editing structures. (The AwesomeBuild has no issues other than console spamming)
MultiWorld:
- use /mw create worldname plugin:ShipGen
Bukkit YML (Must be used for main world)
- See here

You can follow the author's Twitter to know when he is working on the plugin: @timothyolt
So are the randomly generated structures in 0.75, or are they only in .0.80 right now?
@UrNowKoed Actually it has the same amount of iron as a vanilla chunk. They are just clumped together in large veins and in a specific Y range. Making it sometimes easier to get more iron. Configuration for things like this is planned for version 0.9 right after structures in 0.8
I love the generator, but is there any way to reduce the number of iron in the world? The iron veins are HUGE, and way too common. I want to use this for my server's main world but iron is a bit too abundant for what I want my server to be about.
By the way, I just recently saw a jungle biome for the first time, and the jungle trees look AWESOME!
Scratch that preview, there was a big bug about chunk distortion I did not catch because my test size was the same each time. A new preivew will be up soon with structure properties, tile entity support (chests/signs), and hopefully documentation!
If you want a bleeding development version, you can always clone the git repository. I try to keep the code in the bleeding branch at least functional.
I have uploaded an preview version of v0.80 so you guys can create your own structures before they are implemented in the world gen. Documentation will be up shortly.

I will be continuing to optimize my world generator, but there is something related your server that is running the generator slowly, it could be a RAM issue, it could be a cpu issue, or even a network issue (I have not updated the plugin to support chunk sections yet, so it takes a teeny bit more network than vanilla generator does atm.)
@Darkeh57
Hi I pay for a hosted server with gameservers that has 4GB ram dedicated for it and it only lags my server when a user goes in to the generated world while its loading the chunks around him, but all other users in the main world either it be 2 or 20 all experience the lag from it :(
@devilsphere007
The world generator is slower than vanilla's and its on my list to fix some things making it slower. However, it runs fine on my desktop with 16 players only giving the server 2GB of RAM. So either you have a ton of people on your server, or you just dont have enough RAM in the first place.
Looks cool and works great but it lags my server trying to load the new chunks etc and sometimes crashes it
@Hmmcrunchy
Please open a ticket and include more of your server log, including the startup. Also include which plugin is sending the stuck main thread messages, because it is not ShipGen senfing those messages itself.
Edit: Please shorten your comment
hey this is looking good - :)
ill open ticket :)
Leaking a bit of information here, but I will be supporting custom structures with a permission-locked ingame editor. Structures will use a sort of schematic format that can be opened as an "editor world" with my plugin.
Oh, awesome plugin ! Thanks for that ! I follow your work (wait dungeon/structure).
@BadDog8891
worldgen needs to be ShipGen, and remove the options property, not sure why thats there.
If this does not fix the problem, please open a ticket and I will continue helping you there.
@Darkeh57
Yes I did that twice and its still generating normally.
Maybe it's because of my server.properties?
@BadDog8891
Yes, you must first set the world to use the generator as shown above: Jump to Install Instructions
Does this work on worlds that are already created? Because I tried it on my world and its still generating normal, even went to unloaded chunks
Wow. This plugin is so cool! Can't wait until you add the new structures!
@TheMultiplayer
Alright, I will work on fixing that bug. It is probably related to another bugfix I introduced keeping some stack overflow errors from hapenning. I know what is happening now. The spawn chunks that are originally generated when the server first makes the map contain no caves/ores besides caverns (containing trace amounts of iron in the stalagtites) and coal (not generated as an ore, generated as a sediment deposit like gravel)
Working on this ASAP! Will have this fix in the 1.5.2 release shortly.
@Darkeh57
I can confirm this - the only ores that generate seem to be coal and a trace amount of iron. I use CaveOreVeins to fix that, but the rest of the plugin is so awesome that it's totally worth it.
But for the ores, it would be pretty cool if you could talk to the author of CaveOreVeins and stick it in your plugin. The generation of veins like that is actually pretty cool.
