Vanishing Cabinets

A vanishing cabinet is a crude way to link two locations together. To use a vanishing cabinet, one must walk directly in front of the sign and cast the vanishing cabinet repair spell. One can never know where a vanishing cabinet's twin is, as the locations on the signs are scrambled after the first use, although still usable.

A vanishing cabinet must be constructed very precisely. The diagram below must be followed at minimum. Any ornamentation can be built around the structure after you have constructed it, but at least this many blocks should be there in that configuration. A sign at feet level should be placed that has the world name one wants to travel to on the first line, the x on the second line, the y on the third line, and the z on the fourth line. The x, y, and z coordinates must be in whole numbers. This means that you must round down the coordinates you see in your F3 view. Keep in mind: If you round down a negative number, such as -12.5, you will get a "higher" negative number, such as -13. A corresponding cabinet must be built at the exact location specified by the first's sign, and it's sign must specify the first's location.

Once the two cabinets have been built, you can cast the vanishing cabinet repair spell at the sign in one of them. It is recommended that you stand inside of the door block when you cast the spell, to keep the door from interfering with the spell. If everything was successful, you will now be able to walk into the cabinet and arrive at the second location. Items and other entities can also be placed in the cabinet and arrive at the twin cabinet.
