Well this is as good as dead but the future looks bleak for all of my plugins. No promises on what will happen in the near future...

MoreMobs has officially been succeed by Monster Apocalypse. Its a great plugin and is VERY worthy of taking over this plugin. MoreMobs Lite DOES work on Minecraft 1.0 but MoreMobs was never updated, you may continue to use this plugin if you wish but i strongly encourage you check out Monster Apocalypse We had a good run, thanks to everyone who had a part in it!

MoreMobs Lite

What Is it?
MoreMobs listens for mobs to spawn NATURALLY (not via spawner of command) and spawns more of that mob. I found this is actually pretty sweet and makes the sheep herds look a bit more realistic :) it also makes night fighting more fun! Any Sheep spawned by this plugin will be colored! The coloring is completely random! MoreMobs will make Giants spawn naturally! You can now TRULY make more mobs spawn and not just increase the amount already spawned. There is now an option to allow animals (Chickens, Cows, Wolves, and Pigs) to spawn in loaded chunks. See bellow for more details. NEW! Mob damage and Mob health are now configurable along with the ability to stop Skeletons and Zombies from burning in sunlight. See the config page.
Why Do I Want It?
Well it's fun and if you don't like fun...well your a boring person and you should probably go play some Minecraft. And it adds colored sheep! And you can get rid of those nasty-looking squids! And you can see naturally spawned Giants!

As of v1.4 there is now 1 command available:
/mmreload - Reloads the plugin
How Do I Install It?
Just dump it in your Plugins folder. After you have run it at least once a folder called MoreMobs will appear in your Plugins directory. Inside there is one file, config.yml, take a look at the config page.

Bugs We're Aware Of
- IT DON'T WORK ON 1.0!!!
No sound is played when your attacked if you set a custom damage valueFIXED! Except on instant kills...If you set a custom damage value armor is ignoredFIXED! It could use some testing but I think I fixed it...Mobs don't seem to spawn in already loaded chunksFIXED! I changed chunkPopulate to chunkLoad which seems to have fixed this but it needs some testing...Add cool-down timePROBABLY FIXED BUT UNTESTED! Because I'm no longer canceling the event this SHOULD be fixed but it needs testing...Giants are acting very weird and spawn like crazy even if disabled...POSSIBLY FIXED I'LL TEST IT WHEN I GET HOME!

great idea, I'll get on that right now..
make a light version plz! i cant use this plugin since 1.6 version. server crash at start. Too many conflict with other plugin?
Giants don't have damage or health values in the options and are 1 hit kills.
I added them in manually with a -1 default setting if its going to make a difference I don't know.

the problem probably lies in MoreMobsChunkListener, a simple check in my creature spawing loop SHOULD fix it. Right now I have it looking for the nearest non air block and if it doesnt find 1...well BOOM!

Is there anything in the world? If it is 100% empty, then it is just trying to find areas to spawn mobs, but there is nowhere to spawn them. It might also be acting this way if there is alot of lighting... a quick fix might be to place a few blocks far away from the house.

If you can add roaming dragons in the normal world, can you add a configuration so that they won't carve giant tunnels where ever they fly? Haha. The dragons destroy everything but endstone and obsidian.

hmmm if it only has 1 building I would recommend that u disable giants and disable mobs spawning on chunks. The plugin looks for the first piece of land in a chunk and if it doesn't find 1...well idk wat it does but it probably just crashes the server in its confusion :) ill add that to the bugs list :)
I can't seem to get it to work. I configure it and everything, and when I try to start my server, the startup will stop on this line "2011-11-18 22:35:18 [INFO] Preparing start region for level 2 (Seed: 1435672245)". That seed is of a world that is completely empty (like, it's just a void with a floating building in it". It doesn't spit out any errors or anything, it just infinitely stops at that line until I force it to stop. I remove the jar from the plugins list, and all of the giants and animals are spawned like they should be. I really want to get this working because I hate the new mob spawning system. Any ideas?

Well I haven't even seen a dragon yet (i stopped at prerelease 3) but yeah depending on bukkit I can probably work something out :D

Oooh.. Rare dragons in the normal world would be nice. Could you make the health and damage for dragons in the normal world configurable? So that the real boss dragon is still the strongest and most feared?
I cant wait for a 1.0 bukkit RB...SO MANY NEW MOBS! I intend to FILL the sky's w/ dragons! :D (configurable of course!)

I'd try 1.6, that disables configable mob health and damage...ill get a new version out soon but I'm still tied up w/ spyer sry :D

I fixed my previous issue.
Edit: Nevermind, the updated version I installed is still the same as previous: No damage noise, no armor effectiveness.

Will there be an option to set hostile mob spawnrates? Because on my server, they don't spawn so much as friendly mobs.
