MoreMobs
MoreMobs | Add More Mobs!
Well this is as good as dead but the future looks bleak for all of my plugins. No promises on what will happen in the near future...
ATTENTION!
MoreMobs has officially been succeed by Monster Apocalypse. Its a great plugin and is VERY worthy of taking over this plugin. MoreMobs Lite DOES work on Minecraft 1.0 but MoreMobs was never updated, you may continue to use this plugin if you wish but i strongly encourage you check out Monster Apocalypse We had a good run, thanks to everyone who had a part in it!

MoreMobs Lite
VERSION 1.0 IS OUT NOW!
MoreMobs Lite is a smaller, simpler version of MoreMobs, you can find out more here.
What Is it?
MoreMobs listens for mobs to spawn NATURALLY (not via spawner of command) and spawns more of that mob. I found this is actually pretty sweet and makes the sheep herds look a bit more realistic :) it also makes night fighting more fun! Any Sheep spawned by this plugin will be colored! The coloring is completely random! MoreMobs will make Giants spawn naturally! You can now TRULY make more mobs spawn and not just increase the amount already spawned. There is now an option to allow animals (Chickens, Cows, Wolves, and Pigs) to spawn in loaded chunks. See bellow for more details. NEW! Mob damage and Mob health are now configurable along with the ability to stop Skeletons and Zombies from burning in sunlight. See the config page.
Why Do I Want It?
Well it's fun and if you don't like fun...well your a boring person and you should probably go play some Minecraft. And it adds colored sheep! And you can get rid of those nasty-looking squids! And you can see naturally spawned Giants!
Commands
As of v1.4 there is now 1 command available:
/mmreload - Reloads the plugin
How Do I Install It?
Just dump it in your Plugins folder. After you have run it at least once a folder called MoreMobs will appear in your Plugins directory. Inside there is one file, config.yml, take a look at the config page.
How Do I Configure It?
Take a look at the config page.
Where Do I Get It?
You can download it here! (DO NOT CLICK DOWNLOAD AT THE UPPER-RIGHT, IT MAY NOT BE UPDATED!)
Source???
Of course silly! The source is on our GitHub here which SHOULD be updated.
Bugs We're Aware Of
- IT DON'T WORK ON 1.0!!!
No sound is played when your attacked if you set a custom damage valueFIXED! Except on instant kills...If you set a custom damage value armor is ignoredFIXED! It could use some testing but I think I fixed it...Mobs don't seem to spawn in already loaded chunksFIXED! I changed chunkPopulate to chunkLoad which seems to have fixed this but it needs some testing...Add cool-down timePROBABLY FIXED BUT UNTESTED! Because I'm no longer canceling the event this SHOULD be fixed but it needs testing...Giants are acting very weird and spawn like crazy even if disabled...POSSIBLY FIXED I'LL TEST IT WHEN I GET HOME!
Did you find one that's not listed? Did I lie? Leave a comment!
What's Next?

Questions? Concerns?
If you have Questions about the plugin, fell free to pm us or leave a comment. We aren't mean.. unless you ask a really dumb question ;)
@NateN34
yeah good point, ill put out a lite version and we'll have a 1.0 version soon but we're still waiting for a 1.0 RB :D
Ok, just a warning to the 1.00 users, DO NOT use this yet. IT messes up the armor health and if you are attacked, you actually gain health.. It is broke and the author has stated below that he is not fixing it for 1.00.
@xXZymosisXx
ummm never though of that :D lets move this to a pm
@hammale
That's awesome! But a problem: Couldn't you see their names through blocks and such? Unless they are like always sneaking haha.
@xXZymosisXx
yeah btw i got spout mob titles workin so this is probably going to happen :D u can see a quick proff-of-concept here
@hammale Two separate plugins would make sense. Hopefully they can be compatible with one another! :)
@xXZymosisXx
allrite thats better :D i LUV the idea and its actually not that complicated but it kinda defeats the idea of this plugin. Maybe we'll make a plugin MobLevel or somthing :D stay tuned :)
@xXZymosisXx
wow.........i think i need two posts to fully show the awesomeness of this idea
I've got an idea, (it's a very big idea, and I doubt it will be even possible to make this)
I've been thinking, what if mobs spawned with random levels? Like a level 3 or 4 zombie just spawned out there. With Spout, it could always say what level they are above their heads, and what each level could do could be configurable, like so:
Level 2: adds 1 health and 1 damage, drops 1 extra exp orb. Spawnrate %: ... Level 3 adds 2 health, and 0.5 damage, drops 3 extra orbs, Spawnrate %: ... And so on.
Setting level 2's spawnrate to 50 would make all mobs that spawn have 50% chance to be level 2, and etc.
Get the idea? Even though this is highly impossible to make- it's a nice idea anyways.
I just made an updated .jar that you can download. Reply to this if you are having java version problems. (I think I got the plugin to work with java 6 & 7. :D)
o i c jobud has posted a poll. well im not quite sure wat mo' mobs is but i can assure you that less lag and dragons are coming soon as a 1.0 RB comes out! :D
@godgodgodgo
is the latest craftbukkit not 1337? If you are talking of dev builds...well the 1337 version will probably work...UNLESS A 1.0 RB IS OUT! ARGH y must u always make me think there is a 1.0 RB :D THIS IS THE SECOND TIME!
@godgodgodgo
the most recent version, MIGHT work.
@hammale
@jobud9
Thanks for the info :D The plugin is working alright :3 Thanks alot for the work!
Thank you for the quick response, I'll let you know any details that come up, and happily test new versions as well if needed. Good luck with your programming!
Could you post a version that's compiled with the latest dev builds of craftbukkit? It's essential for my server :D All my players are saying mobs are so rare.
@1cec0ld
grrr 1.9.1 doesnt seem to have fixed any bugs :( i would try version 1.6, that version seemed to be pretty stable. We're trying to figure out what is causing all the lag but we havent found it yet :|
Is it normal for the world to lag-crash with the following spawn rates given? I have all mobs on 0 except Ghast, Pigzombie, Silverfish at -1. MobSpawnchance:500 GiantSpawnchance:600 Burn: 1 and 1 Mob health at all -1 Mob damage all at -1 Sheep color: 1 CB 1337 , MC 1.8.1 , 3GB of RAM No errors on startup, just maybe 20 seconds of runtime until one person online (me) walks outside and the server freezes. Thanks for any input on this matter. I've also tried both versions (java 6 & 7)
@cadika_orade
wow thx. Great idea for the biome thing...i think were going to hold off until a 1.0 RB comes out to make any changes. 1.0 adds a lot of new mobs so get ready! (o and a lite version will be out at around the same time as the next normal release)
@Raffle2
which means that this is the 1337th time the bukkit team has compiled craftBukkit
