MobHealth
Mob Health
This simple but invaluable plugin lets you know the damage you just caused to a mob (including other players), and how much health it has left.
Now with ActionBars!
If you have 1.8 bukkit/spigot then you can now enable actionbars by adding useActionBar: true to your config (or set to false to disable).
-
Mob Health has a range of useful options including:
- Control over how messages are shown
- When messages are shown
- When messages are *not* shown (a useful feature!)
- Exactly what is displayed - including your own custom messages...
Current Release Version: 9.1.0
Updater Information
Note that unless you edit MobHealth configuration it will automatically update as new versions are approved by the Bukkit team.
You can edit config.yml
in the /plugins/MobHealth/
folder you can find the following settings.
updateCheck true
- Show notification of available updates.
doUpdate true
- Update MobHealth automatically when new download is available.
Change doUpdate to false to stop any file download, and updateCheck to false to stop notices about new versions in your startup log.
Got API?
MobHealth now has 100% more API included!
You can trigger damage notifications, if your plugin adds skills or spells for example. And far more usefully - you can query MobHealth to get the current health and max health of any Mob, regardless of which plugin is responsible for tracking it.
Think of it as Vault for mob health levels ;) You code for one plugin - I sort out the mess behind the scenes.
See the API page for more info.
NEW healthbars!!
As frequently requested, MobHealth can now display health bars above Mobs, and a health counter for players.
PLEASE NOTE: If enabled - these bars show above ALL players / mobs, regardless of any toggle or permissions settings.
Enable this feature with the following flags in config:
showPlayerHeadHealth: true
Enables health counter display below player names.
usePercentForPlayer: true
Changes health counter from HP to a percentage of health left (recommended).
showMobHeadHealth: true
Enable health bars for all mobs.
useBarForMobs: true
If true, use a health bar in format of [||||||||||] if false, show in format of "10/20"

Stats Collection
Like many bukkit plugins, Mobhealth utilises Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- The number of damage notices displayed (but not their content)
Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

Download
Github no longer allows a "downloads" section, so I no longer mirror files there. If you'd like to test beta/dev versions follow me on twitter and ask there! But understand such files would not yet be approved by BukkitDev staff.
Known Bugs/Conflicts
- Plugins that alter mobs health levels usually return false health levels.
The plugins listed above are supported.
Donations
Donations of any amount are, of course appreciated :)
Contributions go towards maintaining my development server to encourage continued development, MobHealth is solo coded by me, and supporting so many other plugin takes a fair bit of time. So if you think that time is worth something then Hit the dontae button in the top right of this page :)
@SableDnah
Didn't even know bout the hideNoDammage, I'll give that a shot thx :)
Not sure whats going on with the profanity filter, I'll get on it and create a ticket tomorrow, too tired atm :P
Thx again
@oldjollysanta
As for the chat spam... the hits below are doing 0 damage. If you turn on hideNoDammage then it will only show notifications when the targets health has dropped: should drop spam considerably.
Mean while i'll look into some kind of rate limiter :)
@oldjollysanta
The easter eggs bit was the first plugin I wrote and that I used as a template for MobHealth. so yeah I really should split it out :)
However its supposed to be off by default :/
Can you start a ticket for this issue? Let me know what version of the plugin and bukkit your using, and can you past the mobhealth lines from startup / reload command.
I've turned eastereggs to false and even removed the swears from the lang file but its still blocking it, I've tried /mobhealth reload
is there something im missing?
EDIT: This profanity filter is really starting to make me swear, I have no idea why such a thing is bundled with mobhealth?
Is there a way you can add in 'show message per tick/second'? This is an awesome mod, and I use spout which has no issues what so ever, but when I don't use spout (and many of my users still don't) it spams the chat per attack (even if the attacks double or triple up)
EG:
Cow took 8 damage. 2/10 health
Cow took 8 damage. 2/10 health
Cow took 8 damage. 2/10 health
Cow took 8 damage. Killed
It would be nice if i could set the amount of time/ticks between displaying messages
Thanks either way, and Heroes atm is the only RPG plugin where its custom classes adn such, same with HP and Dmg.
@Jg54100
Wow - you guys sure like Heroes :)
Currently with Heroes you get damage reports scaled to match the vanilla Minecraft health. I'm working on using Heroes damage manager to get the adjusted Heroes levels.
Is this compatible with the heroes plugin's health adjustment system?
@meteostrike3
It's in progress now. Sleaker has given me pointers anywhere to get the info I need. So next version should have initial support.
Is there support for heroes yet? Cause it saids its updated to R1.3 so just wondering.
@genesis_aix
No problem. It looks like you can disable SuperPerms in PEX's settings. So if things don't workthat might have been done.
+1 for heroes support!!!!
SableDnah, i might have misread something. Abit fast on the triggerfinger here. Sorry for the trouble. I come back with concrete info if it turns out it is a real compatibility problem and not my own clumsyness.
@genesis_aix I'll have a look at Pex.
PEX does say it is "Bukkit Permissions (SuperPerms) compatible." So it should just work as is with the permissions nodes listed above?
Any chance you could make it work with permissionsex(pex)? good work btw ;)
@Sk8Sanctified
Thanks for checking that - is good to know :)
@SableDnah
Yes its a confirmed fix for the issue. I changed eater eggs to true and there was no error
@Xellic As long as the player is using Spoutcraft (http://dev.bukkit.org/client-mods/spoutcraft/) and the server is Spout enabled (http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/spout/) then notifications will appear as achievements with the default config.
How do you add spout notification?
@Damimad
Dammit - I let Bukkit do the permissions for the commands via plugin.yml - so it doesn't hook into my permissions off setting.
If you add MobHealth.commands that'll let it work till I've fixed this.
They will get access to '/mobhealth reload' as well - but that doesn't do anything harmful.
