MobCatcher
MobCatcher
Capture mobs and get eggs legitimately:
Version: 3.18
This project has moved over to SpigotMC!
Thank you guys so much for all the downloads on BukkitDev. Head on over to SpigotMC to download the latest version of MobCatcher.
This page will no longer be updated.
MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!
This plugin collects basic usage information for mcstats.org. You may opt out in the generated pluginMetrics config file.

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

I'll be updating when there is a beta build. I made an exception for 1.7.5 because some spigot users were forced to update, but that is not my policy.
Very awesome plugin my friend, donors can't get enough of catching mobs haha
I understand you're really busy but an update for MC version 1.7.6 would be ultra appreciated, once again thanks for making this!
can you update this to spigot #1379
@Azekio
That means you're not using MobCatcher with the version of bukkit it was intended for, so it's throwing errors. Check your server console at startup if you're not sure what CB version you should be using, it should say in red.
I have no idea what these errors mean but MobCatcher isn't working? Any help would be greatly appreciated! =] http://pastebin.com/BUZ5kBdv
@dreamrdawn
You can already capture charged creepers and it will save that.
I don't think I can currently support modded mobs, as bukkit doesn't know what to do with them. At least that's how it was last time I tried.
Would it be possible to make a way to add a custom mobs to the config? For example we have giants in our server. It would be great if we could capture one to be able to use in a special event or game. Also, maybe an option to capture "charged creepers" too?
Thank you
@Malikk65
ok thanks!

Seriously tho, ask around on the plugin development forum. Someone will help you. If you have a specific question PM me
@deleted_10645961
There are other plugins that store NBT data that because they are open source you could see how they store it, such as Portable Horses.
@Mysticforce12345
You can set the chance that a capture is successful per mob in the config file.
OMG this plugins like pokemon pokeballs XD except you capture them right away would you mind adding a feature that it can capture the mobs in percentages? thanks!
@deleted_10645961
That's a trade secret, my friend ;)
Can you possibly release how you stored the NBT data of a mob?
I've uploaded an update for 1.7.5-R0.1 #3039. Bug reports against any other build will be ignored.
My policy on dev builds has not changed, but because some spigot users were forced to update to 1.7.5 I've made an exception.

"I can't wait for your dev build, it is much appreciated." #Smart
He is waiting for a beta build for 1.7.5 to release a new update, so don't say exactly the same thing as the other guy.
@DerekZil
DO you?
@rustyshakelford2
Omg lol, did you understand English? xD
@Malikk65 I too was forced to update spigot to fix that crashing bug and now i'm stuck on 1.7.5 with missing plugins. I can certainly respect why you don't want to deal with development builds. You already do so much work for free and this just makes it harder. We've been using mobcatcher for years and there is simply no substitute. I can't wait for your dev build, it is much appreciated.
@VariousArtist
I was not aware that spigot users were forced to update and will be making an exception. However, this does not change my opinion on dev builds in general. They are unstable and often require me to update 3 or 4 additional times to fix MAJOR bugs and this job simply doesn't pay enough for me to do that (Oh wait, this job doesnt pay... imagine that). The entire versioning system that bukkit uses is completely broken, imo. All of the users prefer dev builds and plugin devs are expected to update to ridiculously unstable and untested builds or the users become furious. The beta build is the first build that bukkit recommends that you use.
EggCatcher does not achieve all the same things as this plugin. It is a much simpler plugin that doesn't need to use any craftbukkit and nms code. Mobcatcher allows server owners many more options and saves data about every mob that you capture. In order to get the data about all of the mobs I have to use more advanced things that aren't in the bukkit api. It is unfortunate that bukkit has decided to put up this blockade against plugin developers attempting to work outside of the box, but this is why MobCatcher breaks as often as it does.
Feel free to use whatever plugin alternative. No ones going to miss you here. Just be aware of the features you are losing as well.
