MobCatcher
MobCatcher
Capture mobs and get eggs legitimately:
Version: 3.18
This project has moved over to SpigotMC!
Thank you guys so much for all the downloads on BukkitDev. Head on over to SpigotMC to download the latest version of MobCatcher.
This page will no longer be updated.
MobCatcher allows players to capture mobs and get the corresponding spawn eggs. This is useful for trading and transporting mobs from player to player or even across worlds. As well as having a configurable capture item, MobCatcher also boasts configurable mob types and item costs per capture, bringing a new economic value to mob types both peaceful and hostile. MobCatcher is able to store and recall mob specific data saved to specific spawn eggs. This means things like capturing and spawning colored sheep, baby animals, and tamed wolves is possible! This is done via a separate .dat file which saves data for each mob and removes it when that mob is spawned.Try it out on your server today!

MobCatcher will NOT work if you are not using the version of CB it was intended for. Due to the Bukkit "safeguard' system, MobCatcher will break every version change. Do NOT post tickets or comments about ClassNotFoundExceptions or infinite spawning glitches as these are caused by you using the wrong version.
Before posting a bug, check your server console for a giant red error message.

I decided to move on to Egg Catcher, which achieves the same, but does not break on each release. (Last update is from December and still works on 1.7.5 bukkits)
http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/eggcatcher/
Why? Spigot broke and had to be force-updated. Unfortunatly Malikk65 doesnt seem to be willing to release updated versions for latest bukkit releases nor fix the code dependencies that break Mobcatcher on each new bukkit release. (Eggcatcher shows that bukkits "safeguard-system" does not need to be involved and "beta" versions arent significantly more stable than most other versions)
@hutt132
I'll be updating when there is a beta build.
My entire server is waiting on this plugin to update to 1.7.5.
@LiLChris06
No worries. I was pretty sure it worked, I just couldnt test it by myself.
@Malikk65
Sorry about that, would have tested but I did an emergency update for the whole Spigot thing.
By doing that I updated all the other plugins to 1.7.5 and had to remove this one, if not I would have tested for you.
@grdgyyr
I don't think so. :/
is the latest version compatible with the latest spigot build ?
@BlackFing85
No, I didn't.
http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/mobcatcher/tickets/157-changeable-messages-and-prefix/
@Malikk65
Did you add the prefix changer?
MobCatcher 3.15 is awaiting approval. I waited 4 days and couldn't get anyone to test the protection signs for me, so hopefully those work.
@Octyenoch
Well, the 1.7.2 build is finished already. The main issue is the instability of those dev builds. I've tried updating for them in the past, but they change so fast its just way too much work for me to keep everything running smoothly, and that only makes people complain more as opposed to if I just wait; which is my policy now. Sorry.
@Malikk65
sorry, I know it isn't feasible to update with every release, but with 1.7.5 out, you think you can go ahead and update to that instead of R3 of 1.7.2?
@hutt132
I simply cannot update for every new dev build. This plugin is nearly guaranteed to break every revision.
I would suggest that you make a habit of sticking with older, more stable builds for a longer amount of time. The beta build is the version that Bukkit intends for everyone to be using. Anything past that is considered 'experimental' and not every plugin will support those versions.
@Malikk65
That's going to be a long time...
@MikeGold
There is no 1.7.5 beta build
There is a beta build.
@abi07mode
Please don't post error codes in the comment section.
I'll be updating to 1.7.5 when there is a beta build.
Plugin does not work with Spigot-1350 which is on 1.7.5 I believe.
Just waiting on my bug testers to verify one little thing and I will upload the new version for the 1.7.2-R0.3 beta.
I just cleaned out most of the ticket section. A lot of the tickets were not closed when they should have been, are very outdated, indefinitely waiting on the OP, or are not applicable anymore for whatever reason. If I accidentally deleted a ticket that should have remained open, please resubmit it.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
@Stevie76
No, it doesn't. That feature has been requested and I'm hoping to look into adding it once I get the regular update and some additional bug fixes out of the way.
