MapEdit
MapEdit
MapEdit is a way to send data to maps. It finds what you set in the config, and adds the effect to all players with permission. One of the major features of this plugin is that it tracks player movement, much like the maps on the Xbox360 version of Minecraft. MapEdit can replace online maps such as DynMap, and won't cause lag.
Features:
- Player-Tracking
- Full permissions
- Full configuration
- Player colors
- Almost exact in accuracy
Player Tracking
This plugin allows maps to track players. Players that are in the same world can be seen on the map as a cursor similar to your own. Your cursor will be white, and the other cursors will be the default color of the server or the color the player has permission for.
Startup Map
When a new player joins the game, they will be given a map. If they are not new to the server, they will not be given a map.
Default Scale
The scale of all maps on the server can be automatically set, and can even be made smaller.
MapEdit has proven to be a challenge. Many things involved in MapEdit are not written anywhere, therefore, this plugin has taken me a decent amount of time. I have managed to add functionality to something I never thought possible, until I looked into the bukkit documentation. @jones9898 Thank you for pointing this out. What happened was, I made a few small changes before I released the beta, and it broke the plugin. So, I changed that version to an alpha. A new version should be coming out soon, that has equations that would make your brain bleed from exhaustion. And these work PERFECTLY. I have tested them out, and this time the yaw is EXACT, and so is the location. Again, thank you very much for reporting this, and I will have the new version out very soon!
Sincerely, Jnorr44
One/two problems. First, I couldn't see anyone on the map (even if they had a map too). Second, the one time that I did see someone, it actually was nobody there? I even gave them the permission for them to turn red, but nothing?
Any screen shot of it ?
I released a beta version yesterday, but it seems as though the staff are backed up. It should be out sometime today.
@Jnorr44
I personally don't have any ideas to share, but people will most definitely have some better ideas once we get to use your plugin :)
I can't wait to see the results, and I'm very glad you're not rushing this project.
MapEdit Dev Update
August 15th
Development is almost finished on the first MapEdit release! Just a few more tweaks and performance upgrades, and this plugin will be as perfect as I can possibly make it. I have been thinking about new features to add in 1.0.2 (1.0.1 is the first release), and I have come up with a few ideas. I am not really sure if its possible to do some of these things, but I can at least try and figure them out:
ex: Typing [players] could cause player names to appear
These almost definitley will be added in later.
I believe this is possible...

Thanks for the support guys. I just have to sort out 2 little issues before the first release... should be good!
@jones9898
Agreed. I hope it gets released soon - having a map would be nice, and I know for a fact Dynmap really takes a toll on the server's speed.
I really wanna see this! It sounds very helpful!
