HothGenerator
This world generator creates a real ice world that isn't just normal land covered with snow.
The plugin can actually generate more world types from the star wars movies (Tatooine, Dagobah and Mustafar worlds) but those are not described in detail here. You are left to explore and find all their secrets on your own.

This generator produces an icy world with a thick ice and snow layer and the occasional snow covered mountain. Hidden below you might find tiny caves where life that once inhabited the surface still survives and perhaps you'll find strange structures left over from some ancient civilization.
It also applies some extra rules to the world:
- Ice block, packed ice blocks and snow blocks drops as blocks
- Water placed in open air or above a certain level instantly freezes
- Lava placed in open air or above a certain level is turned into stone
- snow and ice does not melt
- No rain falls, only snow
- Plants doesn't grow if exposed to the sky
- Grass and mycelium dies under open sky if it can't spread into safety
- Slime does not spawn naturally above the stone layer
- Stay out at night and you will take damage from the cold
All rules are fully optional by editing the advanced options section in the configuration file.
Players can don an environment suit to protect themselves from the environment.
- Simply wear full armour with each piece with a name starting with
Environment
Commands to create a world:
STEP 1: You must add a new world to the HothGenerator configuration. This is done using the /hothaddworld
command.
/hothaddworld worldname type
Where "worldname"
is the name of your world and "type"
is one of hoth
, tatooine
, dagobah
or mustafar
.
STEP 2: Create the actual world.
If you are using the excellent MultiWorld plugin you can create a new world like this:
/mw create worldname plugin:HothGenerator
/mw load worldname
Do note that you should use the nether for the mustafar world. Use plugin_nether
above.
And for Multiverse:
/mv create worldname normal -g HothGenerator
or for a mustafar world:
/mv create worldname nether -g HothGenerator
Hi, I've just discover this thing, but it I don't understand every thing. It need a server to run, but I've heard Bukkit is now illegal and there is no way to download it right ? Am I fucked up ? Or am I missing something ? If any one could help me...
This is pretty Awesome. I'm going to make a whole server based on this. I will also be releasing a video on YouTube to show it off in a bit. I'll let you know when It's finished
Someone can help me ! When the map was generated, there is nothing into all of chest on the map. I use a server with cauldron. Someone know how can fix this ?
@Ebins
lol I dont even see a donate button XD
@orgin_org
Orgin, I guess when I have issues like I mentioned below, I look for the last uploaded file (assuming it to be the most up to date). Yes, unfortunately, I missed that line because I'm not used to devs posting older updates at the top.
And yes, I'm replying snidely because of your irritating comment comment. Make a good product, fine. But don't be a jerk about it, ok?
Was going to donate, but not now.
Ps - I'm glad you updated the MV instruction on the main page as to how to use the generator. Its been wrong forever. I don't blame users for being confused.
As one coder to another, consistency, clear instructions, and comments are appreciated, not what you've done!
@Ebins
You need to use 2.1 for Craftbukkit/Spigot 1.8.x.
The HothGenerator 1.18.4 release text says:
"DO NOT USE THIS VERSION ON CB 1.8.x!! It's only intended for older CB 1.7.9/10 installs."
But I guess that text wasn't clear enough.
Hi, love the plugin! However, I don't know if I'm missing something, but here's the issue:
I'm running a progression server. Basically, you have to complete a bunch of goals, and when done, you get automatically promoted and gain access to a new world. The first world is using Hoth. The second world I set up is Dagobah. However, in Dagobah, when night time comes, players still get freezing damage. I don't notice anything else environmentally specific to the world - just the terrain
I looked at the advanced options in the config.yml, and it says that freezing damage only applies to Hoth. So, i'm not sure what to do here.
Suggestions? Thanks! :).
Edit: I'm using version 1.18.4 on a 1.8.3 Spigot server. Is there a more recent version?
Second Edit: i just looked at the file section, and the most recent update is for 1.7.9?? i'm way confused. Sorry!
@jupiter1390
Yes! I love this idea!
How about adding Kamino? Water world planet that is always weather thunder, and add clone base structures :D + It would be nice if player get damage if he/she is in water for long time(8 min)
this is just superb, and i've only tried tatooine so far.
Yep, that fixed my issues, thank you!
@bigredguy2
Then that's your problem, it's too old and probably has tons of bugs.
Try downloading THIS It might work better for your old version.
I'm using v1.17 as it's the only version I see here for the server version I'm using (1.7.9 r0.1), also, I haven't touched the config file at all.
@bigredguy2
Sounds like you are using a really old version or as if you have totally messed up your setup.
I tried the MV create as you said, it made a Hoth world, I did /hothworldinfo, unknown command... Let me try with hothaddworld and mv import.
Edit: Hothaddworld also said unknown command. I don't really know what to do at this point...
@bigredguy2
What does the command /hothworldinfo say about the world?
If it doesn't say type as tatooine for the world then you didn't do the hothaddworld command properly. (Remember that any previously generated chunks aren't re-rendered, the only way to get rid of old "hoth" chunks is to physically remove them from the file system while your minecraft server is offline)
An alternative way to create a world is to tell tell multiverse to send the world type to the plugin. This will lock the world type and it cannot be changed once the world is created:
/mv create mydesertworld normal -g HothGenerator:tatooine
(I just tried both methods on multiverse, as if I haven't done that a thousand times before, and both worked for me.)
I did that, it just created another Hoth world.
@bigredguy2
As instructed above:
/hothaddworld mydesertworld tatooine
/mv create mydesertworld normal -g HothGenerator
How do you make a non-Hoth world using Multiverse? I'm using v1.17 since it's the only one for my server jar
Edit: More specifically I want to make a Tatooine world using Multiverse.
Add Endor with jungle temples.
