GeometricMagic
Geometric Magic
GeometricMagic adds the functionality of Geometric Magic, like that shown in Fullmetal Alchemist and more. Through redstone designs on the ground, one can do wondrous things such as teleport, transmute blocks, and build grand sculptures with little to no effort.
Features, Commands and Permissions
Features
- Teleportation (works better if the player actually puts time into calculating where they want to end up)
- Transmutation (change blocks of one type into another, with future energy costs)
- Transformation (build a tiny version of your masterpiece, draw the transformation circle around it, and watch it be magnified to enormous proportions)
- Set-Circles (circles with a specific purpose which can be activated remotely through Alkahestry)
- Philosopher's Stone (an item that will magnify your alchemical power, the construction of which comes with a terrible price)
Commands and Permissions
There are permissions now! Check them out http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/geometric-magic/pages/permissions/[here! This plugin is meant to remain commandless, utilizing just the redstone drawings.

Bug Reports
Check the known bugs section above first, and then post your bug in the bug reports subforum of the forum.
Future Plans
- More circles with varying effects
- Video explaining the workings of this mod
- Integration with permissions
- Some kind of worldGuard or anti-grief plugin compatibility
- Probably some more stuff that I am forgetting...
Feature Requests
There's a forum for that too, so try to keep it out of the main page comments.
Thanks for fixing the fire block bug
@dgrim
This seems to be a common glitch now. Make sure to post more details in the Bugs forum (There's already a post on the topic)
@dgrim
Hmm, with my Human Transmutation, when I use craft tables, they dissapear, and I can use /setcircle 1234 or any of them simply with flint, just right click with flint with circle set and your good to go, but make sure to learn the circles by drawing them first or you cant use them with flint
So, I learned and used Human Transformation, and it sent me the message of how I sacrificed crafting and gained knowledge, but I still can craft and can't cast set circles with my flint.
I found a bug, fire blocks (souls) down to the last one does not dissapear if you hit 0 health, making a player invincable
I LOVE this plugin, keep it up!
@cakenggt
I checked and the name is only in the sacrifices file.
Request
If anyone is currently using this mod on their server, could you please pm me the address, as I haven't actually gotten a chance to play with my mod on anything but my own test server and I would actually enjoy using it on a multiplayer server.
@saoiste
Check inside your plugins/GeometricMagic folder. See if your playername is registered in the sacrifices.txt file. Also check if your username is registered in the sacrificed.txt file. If it is in the sacrificed.txt file then that means that somehow you did human transmutation twice, and thus have lost your ability to use transmutation circles at all (you can just delete your name if you want to use them again). PM me back and tell me if your name is in either, or both, of the files, and which of the files it is in. I'll try it out on my end and see if I can find out what the problem might be.
@cakenggt
Tried. I got the message when I used the human transmutation circle but I can still craft and perform circle alchemy, but when I try and use flint nothing happens at all.
@saoiste
Are you getting any messages at all when you attempt to cast a circle with flint? Make sure you have full hunger when you try to cast circles, as each circle has a certain hunger cost.
@saoiste
Ok so now that I performed it, it doesn't work. I rightclick with the flint after typing in "/setcircle 1234" or one of the other circles I learned and nothing happens.
@saoiste
Nvm, didn't realize I needed full hunger. EPIC mod btw.
So I'm having glitches with human transmutation? My person knows the circle (3444) but when I try and activate it it doesn't do anything?
HOLY FREAKING CRAP. Epic new stuff with v2.0 of this mod. cakknggt: you are a genius.
@Kasatome
Could it be glitches caused by the lightning when you perform alchemy? I don't really know, hopefully cakenggt responds to you, it being his mod and all he's most likely to know. I've used massive circles before and never had these issues.
@saoiste
No underground alchemy has been done at all, so there should not be these random spaces. I was using an 11x11 circle which leaves a 9x9 "Map" area, which i only needed at max to use 9x9x3 to clear the land for this project. I was clearing the land at an elevation of exactly 63 and the holes occurring at 5 to about 30 elevation, which is underground. The only reason I found these is because one of my players runs a diamond strip mine, and these holes appeared down there after I had done alchemy up above. I was transmuting the mountains into air, so stone, dirt, gravel and grass block. I was using the large 11x11 circle that provided a 9x9 "map" area and i never went below block 63. As I said before I know it's not a memory or server error because these areas were already explored and were consistently rendering fine. These holes with floating/exposed ores happened during the times I was transmuting above.
@Kasatome
I've never had that happen. Are you ever doing alchemy below and forget to clear the area above the circle enough? Like making a 5 x 5 circle and not having a 5 high amount of room above your circle? Otherwise it would clear a large area above where you did alchemy as well as where you intended to.
@saoiste
Well It's happening in chunks that I am transmuting in, around 60-70, and the holes, which are only missing the material I'm clearing (Very large castle project, needs cleared land), which is smooth stone, dirt, gravel and grass block, are occurring at around 5-30. All minerals are still there, floating as if I had transmuted the rock from around them myself. Also, I'm sure it wasn't somebody else as no one had logged between the time I left to the time I came back and discovered it(still an early test server). As for memory, running 64 bit java of the latest 6 with 2 gigs, out of 4, allocated and average server load on cpu is about 3-20%. As far as i can tell, it's supposed to affect the area in front, and above the circle depending on how I shape the "mold" area, and is not supposed to affect blocks below.
