This time we will upgrade our elevator by building some blocks on top of it. Many blocks. A whole lot of blocks. Well - nearly anything you can imagine.

Nothing easier than that! Just think of some minecraft stuff and put it on the elevator platform.

Note: Unfortunately you can't place and use pistons on an elevator yet. I am sorry!
... and updating
Placing the blocks is one thing, but afterwards you have to update your elevator. To do so, stand on the elevator platform and use the command /elev update.

Note: You always have to update the elevator after you changed any blocks of it. Otherwise, the elevator won't move and display that it is damaged!
Okay, so we have built a complete elevator. But moving it by using commands everytime? This is not really comfortable. It's about time to do something about it! Guide 3: Moving a simple elevator by buttons or signs
