AncientCave
This plugin is a continuation of BananaMaze I've fixed some bugs, added features and updated it for bukkit 1.2.5
you can set it up with multiverse by running a command like:
/mv create Dungeon NORMAL -g AncientCave
Features:
- Create a world that is a randomly generated maze of rooms traps and monster spawners.
- Collect rare items, including magic scrolls (requiresMagicSpells plugin.)
- using multiverse-inventories (or a similar plugin) you can set up the cave on your server as a dangerous place survival players can go in search of loot.
Planned Features:
- multiple floors?
- piston/tripwire traps
- "boss" rooms
- working exit portals
Current Loot: (Custom loot can be set in the config.yml file)
- Enchanted items
- Music Disks
- Monster Spawn eggs
- Potions (including the 4 currently unbrewable potions
- Common loot: Glowwstone, soul sand, sponge, clay, exp bottle, sulphur, clay brick, iron ingot, gold ingot, arrow, string, bone, sugar cane, iron pickaxe, iron sword, flint and steel, chainmail boots, chainmail chestplate, chainmail helmet, chainmail leggings, bucket, wood sword, stone pickaxe, stone sword, gold pickaxe, gold sword, leather chestplate, leather helmet, leather leggings, iron boots, iron chestplate, iron helmet, iron leggings, sugar, apple, raw fish, cooked fish, pork, grilled pork, diamond
- rarer loot: compass, saddle, diamond pickaxe, diamond sword, diamond chestplate, diamond helmet, diamond leggings, diamond boots, gold block, cake, cookie, milk bucket, golden apple, TNT
The Dungeon is much more difficult during the night. I recommend TmeLock for keeping it night all the time.
Anyone else having a problem where Multiverse isnt using this when creating a world? I use the default config and I copy and pasted the example above and it creates an ocean world with lots of small islands. Im not sure what the problem is.
Hm..Ok.
@Itachideidar
Just copy it into your plugin folder. You will need a multiworld plugin like Multiverse. In Multiverse the command is /mv create Dungeon normal -g AncientCave.
for MultiWorld the command is /mw create Dungeon AncientCave [seed]
The name of the world, Dungeon by default is configurable in the config file.
@Tofall
Sorry, that's because you have no config file, or no custom loot in the config file. I'll fix that in the next version, but for now just add the config.yml from the zip file and it should start up fine.
@Itachideidar
I want to know it too \=
Hmm..I install it,but..
Error occurred while enabling AncientCave v0.1 (Is it up to date?)
Because this error appears?
Thanks! I wanted it, and now i found!
Looks like a awesome plugin!
If you add bosses, I'll add this to my server :)
New update with custom loot is out. Unless someone finds a bug this will probably be the last update until 1.3 At that point I'll add emeralds and hopefully more mob-spawner types.
so far im loving this plugin, cant wait for the other features to come
@robotnikthingy
The new version has biomes that mix things up, albeit in a purely superficial way at the moment. Eventually I hope to give each biome it's own traps and structures and whatnot.
its does need more features however, each room kinda seems just like the last, it gets a little boring sometimes. if random structures spawned that would be awesome, or better yet, let users add schematic files that have a chance of randomly spawning
@hi00ih
This would be tricky. I should be able to make it generate a fresh world that appears totally normal until you get deep enough and then there's the dungeon, but I'm not sure it's possible to have it re-generate the lower level of an existing world.
I also use this world as a place for my survival players to get rare loot, I just have it as a separate world with a shared inventory/experience/health/hunger as my main survival world (using multiverse-inventories) they /warp in, get loot, and either /warp out when they're done or try to find an exit portal and light it. (the portals are a work in progress and their behavior will depend on that plugins you have that effect portal use.)
@foreverblu
The original BananaMaze had a roof, but for some reason generating it about doubled the time it takes to generate a chunk (read: lag.) I just disabled it until I could find a more efficient solution. I'll try to get a roof going without a huge performance hit.
Maybe a roof??? that would be great.
Any chance that you can have this generate underground in a set world? Trying to make a skyrim RPG world and I think this would be perfect for the dungeons for players to get loot. Its especially useful as I use magicspells.
For those who want a roof over it: Until this awesome developer gets that working in the plugin, just WorldEdit it on :D
This is awesome!
@xdeathoreox
It had a roof, but I took it off due to performance issues. It will keep generating both terrain and loot forever. The next version I release actually supports biomes of sorts. As you move farther from spawn you will travel through 5 biomes. As the difficulty increases, so do the odds of better loot.
it would be awesome if some parts were underground
