TorchThrow
TorchThrow
Info This plugin allows for long range torch placement in a very aesthetically pleasing manner. Rather than simply providing the player with long reach distance, this plugin allows players to throw 3D torches which stick to walls by pressing Q with a torch in their hand.
Permissions torchthrow.throw: allows a player to throw torches as described above torchthrow.magic: gives a player access to the /torchthrow command, which throws a torch without consuming one
TO-DO
- Optional timeout of thrown torches, ie they will break after a configurable amount of time and drop as an item
Updates
This plugin will be maintained indefinitely, however new functionality will only be updated if interest is shown, so post a comment, download, and make suggestions, this plugin is for you :D

@MrCuddlesHD
Yes, though it would make little to no sense, and slow down the server due to constant collision checks.
Is it possible to add a feature that makes the torch deal a configurable amount of damage when hitting a player?
Players can throw torches in protected zones. Can you add a feature that restricts this? Awesome handy plugin btw.
@YOYOMAN901
I'm going to need you to be more specific if you want help. An error log or description of what's wrong would do nicely, preferably both.
@DeadspaceXD
Update to the newest Craftbukkit, old builds don't support throwing things.
the plugin wont work
Hey there can you place tell me why this plugin and some other plugins gives an error please ?
Every plugin that I can throw or something that moves by the plugin gives me errors how can i fix this ? please respond on this message please ? sorry for my bad english xs
@elysianhero
Will do ^.^
This is really great! Thank you for the plugin. I do have one request though, and this may sound backwards. Could you add a command for throwing the arrow? I would really like to use this in tandem with Nisovin's MagicSpells. It has a really useful "spell" that temporarily give a permission, executes a command, and then revokes the permission. If that were possible with TorchThrow, I could make a "Torch Arrow" in MagicSpells.
oooh, curious plugin, most useful when your trying to see down a deep shaft like a ravine, or a deep cave in the ground.
@S1lverK3y
Those would work, but the textures on non block shaped items often bug out.
@Dreid1
The same thing is happening to me. Not sure what is causing it. Anyone else having this issue?
@Dustinduse
the only way it could be done is if you us spoutcraft + spoutplugin and a plugin that allows the creation of custom items (such as morematerials)
using that kind of setup it is very possible to make throw able axes that do damage also allows for custom recipes to make that item or 10 of it
Umm not quite sure why this is happening... but my server wont even acknowledge that this plugin is in the plugins folder. Any ideas?
@hoohoo4 Then what about Cobwebs, Buttons, and Cakes? Also configurable times and chances to drop again also no ability to Q-Drop-Build any of them on Water, Lava or Fire?
@Dustinduse
I replied to this earlier, I CAN"T. Nobody can, not if you want it to be 3D at least, I could make players throw GOLDEN_AXE item drops, but the throwing algorithm I use is largely inaccurate due to slight offsets in Java and Minecraft. In theory it should be dead on, but it's not, and that would just cause players to complain.
You should seriously look into making a thrown axe plugin. that turns golden axe recipe into a stack of 10 that can be thrown and do damage. This would make pvp on my server Amazing!
@Kiak
any bugs he found were probably in dev builds lol i know there were a few when updating to 1.3.2 but they weren't really anything big, and were fixed quickly.
if that wasn't the problem maybe he was using versions that didn't match bukkit
@S1lverK3y
there is no spout requirement he removed it
read things before you post :P
