Welcome to BookLibrary Bukkit Plugin

What is BookLibrary?

BookLibrary is a bukkit plugin to manage books on a server. It has quite lots of features e.g uploading,editing books to a database, getting books from there via command or ingame block, book sales with integrated ranking, subscribe functions and many more. Installation is quite as easy as installing any other plugin.

I love the plugin. The only issue I have after a book is committed it becomes published in random page orders. Like when I published in book with 6 pages, the page order was in random. This causes an issue with people who publish fairly long books. I hope this can be fixed.

My host forces me to use the 1.8 Spigot build so it may be that I am uses an older version of Spigot. Hopefully you look into it.

Hi Nick,

First thanks for a wonderful plugin. I'm hoping to get the server involved with writing and this plugin really adds a nice touch to it.

After using the plugin I found a couple quirks that made it a little difficult to work with.

I was wondering if you could add support for a server library/owner. This way we can have a bunch of server help books in a library and avoid the commit costs (I like the commit costs for normal users, but for the admin library it would be nice to bypass it)? These could be added with an option to the commit command such as: /book commit admin NOTE: I wouldn't mind it modifying the author of the book to some special author name if that simplifies the database lookup/storage.
I had a little issue with permissions. For some reason * permissions did not work properly. I am using GroupManager for permissions. This was resolved by simply being verbose with the permission tags for the user and not using the *. I do the following when checking permissions and it seems to work for * permissions: player.hasPermission(permissionString). from org.bukkit.entity.Player
I am getting a strange error when a user of mine is committing their books. They are committing a book with multiple flags. Is it correct to specify multiple flags as a comma separated list? Here is a pastebin of the event: http://pastebin.com/u0pwNVLW
A way for admins to edit other users books. I have op on my server and I was not able to set the price of someone elses book. This is not a huge deal, but it would be nice to have a way to bypass some of the checks that you have in place.

You don't need Economy. It is optional.

SQLibrary is used for database connections. bcCore is a API for programmers, which provieds features so you can code your programm with less effort.

The bug your reported: I made a mistake and commited my dev-version of the bookshelf feature, which is unfinished, yet. Version 2.2.1-BETA provides a fixed version. No tables were created because the plugin "crashed" with a NPE (=Null Pointer Exception)

Your suggestions:

1: You can manually create the tables. But the plugin should do it by itself. For SQL code, take a look here: https://git.nickdaking.eu/NickDaKing/booklibrary/blob/master/src/main/java/eu/nickdaking/booklibrary/io/database/BookLibraryMySQLIO.java#L525

2: Economy is optional. If you don't want it, its okay. The plugin will work anyway.

any way you can fix this plugin in a way that it has no dependancies? one simple book library needing 2 more plugins to run it, to me, is very inefficient

i've tried all the 3 plugins togther, we dont use an economy system so none of your 'useful' commands will work

there is no table created in the MYSQL database, so spammed console of errors http://pastebin.com/QTM8c82Z

my suggestions:

drop in the code for sql, instead of routing through bccore
add economy: <true/false> to config, if false
add permission for: booklibrary.create.1 so servers can choose how many books to allow people
actually check for table existance on plugin load, if no table, create it

so far we cannot get your plugin to create the mysql tables let me know if you find the issue there are no errors, just none of your commands work

Thx for your interest in my plugin! Bukkit is dead, but a new Minecraft Server is comming out. (Sponge)

Long story short text: I will not add new features for this bukkit plugin. I will only fix bugs. As soon as Sponge is ready, there will be a full support version of this be available. But if you have any ideas, you can write them down and send it to me.
