BO3s are objects used by TerrainControl. BO3Tools allows you to export your WorldEdit selection as a BO3 object. It can also convert a BO2 object to a BO3 object.

Although the tool hasn't been updated for over a year, it still works fine with the latest version of TerrainControl and WorldEdit.

  • Convert a WorldEdit selection to a BO3.
  • Lets you select the origin of the BO3.
  • Convert BO2s to BO3s.
  • Automatically sets the author of the BO3 to the name of the player who used the command.
  • Has size limits which make sure that the BO3 is never larger than 32x256x32.
  • Permissions support.
  • In-game, so no block lists that need to be updated.
  • Can export the contents of chests/dispensers/etc.
  • Can add BlockChecks to the BO3.
  • Doesn't directly use internal server code, so it doesn't need to be updated on every Minecraft update.

Installation and configuration

Download the latest file from BukkitDev and place it in the plugins folder. Make sure that WorldEdit and Terrain Control are already installed. No worlds need to be assigned to Terrain Control if you don't need to export tile entities. There is no configuration file.

Commands and permissions

bo3tools.all gives access to all the commands. Server operators automatically have this permission. You can export a BO3 using /exportbo3 <name>, which will convert your current WorldEdit selection to a BO3 and put it in Terrain Control's GlobalObjects folder. You can convert a loaded BO2 to a BO3 using /convertbo2 <name>.

    I'm having a problem. I'm attempting to set the BO3 center towards the top of a pretty tall object, and I'm getting the message "The B03 center is too far away".

    @zarakh01 I just resolved the same issue by simply using spigot 1.8.3 as that is the most recent version supported by TC according to their github.

    I installed this, worldedit and TC on a 1.8.6 spigot server and i get a massive error message in my console and in game it says "An internal error has occured while attempting to perform this command" when trying to use the /exportbo3 command with a world edit selection active.

    This is not possible, unfortunately. TerrainControl cannot spawn BO3s bigger than 32 blocks on the x or z axis.

    Bukkit is essentially dead. Spigot will be updated to 1.8. Sponge is being cooked up. Terrain Control, BO3Tools and BetterEnderChest will all be usable on both Sponge (may only be on the Forge variant of Sponge) and Spigot 1.8.

    Is there a way to make the size limit a lot bigger? Adding a limit to the bo3 size actually seems harmful, as i can not convert some of my larger builds into bo3s. Please let me know about this as soon as possible.

    Edit: Nevermind, i didn't see the comment on the bottom of the screen... So with this, i'm also assuming that BO2s have this limit?

    Also, do you have any solution on how we can impliment our bigger builds into our world?

    Possible to get chest/spawner data?
