Overview
VoxelSniper is the premier long range map editing tool for Minecraft. This mod allows you to edit any block that you can see using an arrow (for replacing) and a gunpowder (for adding). It is best used by those with a strong attention to detail and fits a wide array of applications, from making detailed edits to structures with the snipe brush, to making massive terraforming jobs a breeze with some of the earth shattering soft selection tools.

This plugin utilises Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- The number of Snipers/LiteSnipers online
- The number of times Brushes are used
Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

@bigscary
No, I'm saying it hasn't been developed because frankly there is no interest in our development team to make it, and I'm not going to force someone to make something they don't want to make. Furthermore, I don't have the time because I manage VoxelGuest and The Voxel Box's server computer performance. Furthermore, I have other stuff to do in my life. My life isn't centered around updating VoxelSniper, thank you.
@Cinister
If you have PermissionBukkit or something I'm sure there is a way to set permissions to counter that, unless you want everyone to use VoxelSniper and not just OPs/Admins
Hey, I was wondering if there was any permission nodes for VoxelSniper to use with a permissions manager like bpermissions? Thanks.
Do you guys have a public dev build link? (the lattest non official download of this for 1.2.4?)
@aaronboy228342
nope! switching textures didnt work
The plugin is awesome I've been making terrain now for ages and each is better then the last. However one MAJOR thing is that the entire tree brush is screwed up, meaning when you place trees a dirt block appears, and no tree.... you need to relog to see the tree...fixing the issue would be much appreciated.
ya i put this on my server, i just want to use it to edit a map i will play on for sp, i am not able to use it althoug having gunpowder and all that. am i required to have your texture pack? its a pain to run thru all the 13 pages of help and i did do that, it wont display any help whatsoever for this and i also tryed the commands provided with the post above, nothing!
Well, it looks like voxelbox palceon is on in the vid so i'll install the voxelmodpack and try it with that.....
@psanker
So I guess what you're saying is that despite being suggested several times (indicating folks want it), you won't add a biome brush even as a tool for getting a good start on an area because the result won't be perfectly natural terrain?
I'm not asking for a brush that makes the world magically perfect. I just need a "natural-ish" starting point so that I don't have to build everything manually from scratch. I totally expect to have to at least touch up after the fact. I just don't want step 1 to be spend 20 minutes per chunk building hills and digging rivers and painting and placing trees, just to get a start.
is there a way to modify biome of a block yet ?
thx.
This may be a dumb question but.. I've read through the wiki, checked config files and searched through forums/comments best I could... and couldn't find an answer.
Is there no way to change the items used for sniping? IE use Glowstone Dust and Gunpowder instead of Arrow.. etc? or are those values/items hard coded into the plugin?
I only ask because on our server Arrows are currently used by a fighting plugin for right-click.. and it would be easier to change the items use for this (new) plugin than our old one.. :\
@giltwist
strange... could have sworn /u removed a tree planted with voxelsniper... been so long I guess :D
btw it does undo with worldedit tree planting, though that's more annoying not being to do it from a longer distance. Any chance of implementing undo for that brush or.....
'bigtree' ...some of these trees don't turn out big like they do normally (actually one of the reason why I tried to undo those ones, a fix for that instead? :)
@XeonG8
You have never been able to undo with /b t. The brush just tells notchcode "hey, plant a tree here!" Only the /b gt brush can undo
This is, by far, one of the most useful plugins in the whole world.
seems the invisible tree thing is fixed with new cbukkit... however undo /u seems to not remove the tree now?! just says "undo succesful 1 block has been replaced"
any idea?
also bigtree isn't always big :D
Does this work with 1.2.3 ?
VS5 does not have permissions support. VS6, which will be developed in the summer, will have permissions support.
Does this have permissions support at all- other than OP's? I was hoping I could fit this plugin into my PermissionsEx configuration but I can't find any permissions... If found please leave a link!
A biome brush, yes, has been suggested many times. However, it's still an artform to make natural-looking terrain. VS is like Photoshop; it's VERY hard to be a master of it out of the box. You need to practice, practice, practice. That's why we have Sniper-based ranks on The Voxel Box (LiteSniper and Sniper); if we gave everyone access to the tools, it would be a nightmare, not because of the grief but because of the horrible terraforming.
This is great for making edits, but building something from nothing and making it look "natural" could be a lot less tedious. Please consider adding a new feature which updates a biome's chunk and then regenerates it, so that we get truly natural-looking land formations as a starting point. Then we can use the various brush modes to make adjustments.
For a reference, check out the "Biomed" plugin. He has the core feature I want, but it's all slash commands and coordinates. You have the ease of use I want (point and click), but not the core feature.
Ideally, I'd like to fly around "painting" natural-looking mountains, rivers, lakes, beaches, deserts, and so forth, then use the rest of the feature set to make refinements like placing footpaths and removing world-generated imperfections.
OK, so the tree thing seems to be that it is not rendering the leaves and stuff. You have to relog... I'll look into it... Bear in mind that this is NOT my main plugin.
