Overview
VoxelSniper is the premier long range map editing tool for Minecraft. This mod allows you to edit any block that you can see using an arrow (for replacing) and a gunpowder (for adding). It is best used by those with a strong attention to detail and fits a wide array of applications, from making detailed edits to structures with the snipe brush, to making massive terraforming jobs a breeze with some of the earth shattering soft selection tools.
Metrics
This plugin utilises Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
- The number of Snipers/LiteSnipers online
- The number of times Brushes are used
Opting out of this service can be done by editing plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and changing opt-out to true.

@OMG_Spedwards
/v 17 and /vi [datavalue] (e.g. /vi 1, /vi 2) For replacement data values, /vir [datavalue].
You can also shift+left/rightclick with the gunpowder tool as an eyedropper for data values. Shift+left sets /vi and shift+right sets /vir.
How do I select 17:1, 17:2, etc.
@lvk
Yeah, I'm not suggesting that it should, I'm just saying that there should maybe be some hook-in with dynmap or other mapping plugins so that they update when things are sniped in.
@Vustom
Yes.
Does this work with 1.2.5 yet?
@potatoboy2
If it did, no physics snipes would be impossible.
@evilspoons
Yeah, I have a similar problem. It also occurs with things like WorldEdit, and I believe it is not updating because it is not "placing" a block, it's changing the block data, so it doesn't always trigger an update, so Dynmap doesn't re-render. I agree though, I wouldn't want Dynmap to re-render on chunk loading, and it would be nice if VoxelSniper somehow triggered an update.
Short bug report: the Ruler brush still isn't functioning as intended. There's been a ticket from some guy for it since February, but it hasn't been addressed.
It's a minor thing, though. VoxelSniper's primary functions all work as intended and I'm very content with it. Thanks again for all the hard work.
@psanker
Ok, thanks for the reply!
@potatoboy2
I have word that a biome brush is on the way.

Whoo hoo another noob here. All I can download is VoxelUpdate when I click download and not even the commands work on that. I've read the VoxelSniper intallation guide on the wiki, it says "drag your voxelsniper.jar file over blah blah" and nothing about VoxelUpdate. What am I doing wrong>
Hi, We have a problem with it because are running the Bukkit devbuild releasebuild1.2.5 but VoxelSniper wont work with it do you know anyreason why or to help solve this problem?
@psanker
Would it be possible to just have a brush that changes the biome data for a region, not the blocks? Like this plugin: BioMan , but with fewer clicks and implemented in sniper? I don't really need the whole changing of a region to another biome, just the getting rid of snow and freezing, and that kind of thing.

@psanker
I have to wait until June...... -_-
@cataclisto
Not necessarily built with 1.2.4, but you can find the most recent builds of Sniper on http://jenkins.thevoxelbox.com/.
@BenCraftia
Permissions will be added in VoxelSniper 6, which will be developed in June this year.
