VoteNow
[ version 1.2/1.2.5-R4.0 ]
Description
VoteNow allows players to request a list of server voting sites on demand. This prevents the server from having automated messages spamming everyone's screens telling players where they they can vote, while still allowing the convience of having a clickable link to take a player directly to the voting site.
Usage
Typing "/vote" will list all of the sites at once on the player's screen. Typing "/votesite [number]" will list only the corresponding site on the player's screen.
Features
- Reduces the amount of automated server messages
- Allows players to click on the links to open them
Commands
- /vote
- /votesite [number]
Installation
- Download the newest VoteNow.jar file
- Place it in your bukkit plugins folder
- Start the server once to allow the plugin to create its default folder
- Stop the server and open the file at [server root]/plugins/Votenow/votingsites.txt
- List your voting sites by putting one URL on each line
- Save, start your server, and enjoy

Do you like this plugin and want to support the further development of it?
@Gunnerrrrr
The plugin is not loaded because your server is still running on java 6, it was compiled using java 7 in my dev environment. All you have to do is update your server's jre to 7. If you absolutely cannot do this for some reason, I can try to compile the next release on java 6.
@kustomcraft
You want the command name to be configurable? Also, votifier is coming in v1.3, but would you like it to connect into iconomy or to give them a item instead? Also, I will work on making a timer, however I see this causing a slight bit of lag, where the current setup doesn't.
@Gunnerrrrr
I have not found a way to automatically open the website(s) because of the protection of the minecraft client. However, all they have to do is click the links and hit open and each site will open into a new tab in their browser. If you know of any way to auto open them, I would be more than happy to integrate it into the plugin.
Would like to change command of /vote and also, should add when they can vote, hook though votifiyer, no point tell them to vote when they allready have :3
@Brickfoot7
I will be more than happy to work on catching votifier events for you. This would allow you to detect when a player votes on a site such as minestatus. Are you wanting to give your player an item or iconomy currency? Also, sites such as minestatus have a timer system implemented already.
The plugin runs very smoothly for me no errors at all. I do have a few suggestions though. First I think it would be useful to give players an item when they vote for a site. Second is to set a timed limit that is configurable for each vote site so that players can not abuse the rewards system.
@Lukethenuke
I just tested it on 1.2.5-R4.0, it created its default files on my clean server. I will have to do more testing before I release it on the RB build. I will try to get to that ASAP. Did you get a error message on the console when it didn't make the folder? Also, did you manually making the folder and file work?
Hi there,
I was wondering if you plan to release this for the recommended bukkit version 1.2.5-R4.0? Right now I'm trying to use it on that but its not generating the config folder. I'm going to try adding that myself but figured I should let you know.
Wow this is really good and creative :)
