Ventriloquist
Ventriloquist
Ventriloquist is a simple plugin which does as its name implies; it lets you talk as a player. Great for avoiding public scandal, or simply messing with your underlings!
Usage:
/vent [player] <message>
Permission: vent.do
Speaks as the player. For instance, doing '/vent mjkaufer hello world' would make it look as if the user mjkaufer had just said 'hello world'.
Features:
- Speak for the players of your server!
- Supports almost all chat tags!
- Blocks ventriloquism for commands!
Upcoming/Planned Features:
- More manipulation!
- Config file for default messages.
- Sunshine and happiness.
This is my first plugin. Thanks.
@mjkaufer
True, but that's for the server owner/admin to decide ;-) (you could add some sort of command white-/blacklist and additional permission nodes)
@ThisUsernameIsMine
It outputs as if the user had actually said it, adhering to GroupManager, PEX, Factions, etc. prefixes/suffixes.
@ThisUsernameIsMine
Ventriloquist doesn't do remote player commands as people could potentially op themselves. Essentials has a prebuilt solution for this, known as /sudo
cool plugin :)
@Typical_Name
Sweet!
@Typical_Name
+1
@ mjkaufer: Thanks a lot! :) (was still using http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/marionette/ )
edit: Unfortunately Ventriloquist doesn't do remote-player commands =(
@ThisUsernameIsMine
It does, from what I've observed (I'm using Herochat).
What is the chat-output like? (does it respect already formatted text by other chat-plugins)
Hmm, it only works with players who are online? That kind of defeats its use for me...
I was hoping I could use this with DispNameChanger (changes my username) to make it so that my fake name could have conversations with my real name. But using /vent on myself just uses the display name, and I can't do /vent for a player who's not online...
Is there a way you can make the plugin support players who aren't online?
looks pretty cool xD
Lol. nice plugin xD
lol I might try this out! It seems perfect for trolling! =D
Nice! There are no players on my server right now, so I'll have to test it later.
@Typical_Name
It's out at this very moment :)
Exactly the sort of plugin I was looking for! Any ETA?
