Plugin: TrainCarts - Linked Minecarts, sign-redstone systems, easy to use and realistic
Version: v1.73.0
Build: 1.7.2 R0.1/R0.2
Incompatible with: RailCraft
Description
This plugin looks for suitable Minecarts and links them together if possible. When two Minecarts are being "linked", the Minecarts will act as one single moving train.
Once carts are successfully linked, an effect is played and their velocity is shared in combination with an individual factor for each Minecart, which is used to remain a steady gap between carts. This gap is adjustable, the force at which this happens as well.
End result: a train! You can move it, make a roller-coaster out of it, split it in half, watch trains collide, whatever you want to do with trains. :)
As for 1.21, it is also possible to safely exit your train by setting an exit offset with a (sideways) push factor for the train. This feature is disabled by default. (only affects dropped items). If you want to display arrival times on signs (see redstone circuit part) you need SignLink, see the downloads on the bottom of the page.
As for 1.35 you can set train properties to make 'special' trains, or to 'finalize' a train

For configuration, permissions and how-to's, see the Wikipedia page (it is rather long):
Note that I would prefer having comments, bug reports and others in the main Bukkit page, since I visit that site the most. :)
Addons
Special Addons for TrainCarts
Features
- Link minecarts using collision: no commands needed to make a train
- Move trains as easily as you would with single Minecarts
- Store trains to file for persistence during reloads and server restarts
- Use sign-redstone circuits for subway systems, complete railroads and much more
- Station to gracefully stop and launch trains
- Spawn
- Teleport
- Property setters
- Tag systems to switch certain tracks based on tags on the train
- Destination systems to make your train travel to far-away lands all on it's own
- Supports Minecart Mania's features
- Infinite minecart speeds are possible
- Push-away: Push mobs, players and items away from your trains to keep them running
- Everything is configurable, if something proves not to be, I will make it that way
FAQ
When players are near, trains reach their destinations. With no one near, they don't. What do I do?
By default trains do not keep chunks loaded, and they will unload once they move into unloaded chunks. To make trains keep the chunk area (and themselves) around them loaded, set the 'keepchunksloaded' property to True. This can be done using the /train keepchunksloaded true command, using a property sign or by changing it to true in the DefaultTrainProperties.yml file. For more information about train properties, see here.
Why not boats?!?!
Incompatibilities
If you have another plugin that performs similar Minecart replacement techniques, it is likely that TrainCarts will not function or function poorly. For the 'chunk persistence' part of this plugin, other plugins that unload chunks without firing events result in this feature failing. Minebackup is known for having this problem.
Metrics
This plugin sends server count statistics to MCStats.org. You can (globally) opt out in the PluginMetrics/config.yml file.
@NorbuGames I believe the public forums here prefer English though, so I will talk in both languages :)
Dankje, ik doe m'n best om te innoveren. De Elevator signs vormen een verticale teleporter systeem. Simpelweg, je plaatst de twee elevator signs boven elkaar in dezelfde kolom. Voor meer informatie, zie hier.
Thank you, I try my best to keep on innovating. The elevator signs act as a teleporter in the vertical direction. Basically, you place two elevator signs on top of each other in the same column. More info, see this link.
EDIT
Added a screenshot of an example set-up on the WIKI.
@NorbuGames @NorbuGames @NorbuGames @NorbuGames You could keep it in one post and edit it though...Click on the "piece of paper with pencil" icon. Yup, I speak and am Dutch. You can make a video, but I am actually considering to make a full tutorial series myself (voiced), so if you don't want to, I don't force you to. :) And learning to write Bukkit plugins...well link I rarely ever play Minecraft any more, so no for the job. (as a programmer you soon stop playing the game at some point, happened to all games I programmed for)
And do you want a Job or something on my server? (FunLand Server)
And how have you learn to make a Bukkit Plugin than if i am good in Java i can mayby help you :P
And if you want i can make a video for TrainCarts :)
Ok can you hook into it :) and Do you spreak Dutch?
@NorbuGames 1.) Bukkit bug not handling player interact correctly. I'll have to wait for official builds where this is fixed.
2.) Invisible minecarts always have to do with that spawn packet error in BKC. Will be fixed.
And for your suggestion: virtual blocks would be what you want, basically. Someone else suggested this as well. Or just general world changing. Unfortunately, there is no proper per-block region selection plugin I can hook into. WorldEdit only has cuboid and vertical selection.
Your English is fine, no need to apologize :) (really, I've seen worse, a lot worse. People shouldn't feel afraid to use English)
@bergerkiller
I have a few buggs for you :)
1.
[Train] property playerexit deny
Sign doesnt work : in 1.6.1 you must click shift to exit a MineCart other system I think
2.
[Train] eject
If this sign powered with a train : players will exit but the train or cart wil be invisable
Thnx : I hope you could fix this in the new Dev Builds :) im making my second server (FunLand) I love al your plugins such as : Signlink, BKCommonLib, NoLagg, TrainCarts. I have an idea for a plugin :
with a command you get a wand with this wand you select a area with right and left click and then you type /{commandname} create {exaple 1} than you make a sign with First line :[Block] Second line the name of the area you created example 1
and than if that sign is powered : is the area that is selected as 1 set to air and if its non powered by redstone : the area will appear again
I hope you could make something like this :)
PS. Sorry if im bad in english im 11

@KamikazePlatypus Not at this point, no. The effect sign is fairly basic so configuring an entire firework effect is rather complicated. For now, see if you can find a plugin that fires fireworks on redstone command, and use that for the effect.
@NorbuGames Yup, noted that down (for 1.6.1).
@junior99au Boats have a different kind of movement prediction on the client. As a result, it's impossible to instruct the client to move the boat like a minecart. Believe me, I've tried this before. It only worked on horizontal lines and started failing horribly once it hit a slope.
is there a why that i can also allow this for boats
@bergerkiller
I report some buggs : - Carts are invisable if a player get out of a train - Players are in a Train but it looks like they out of the train for other players Can you fix this please?
Is it possible to use the firework effect with the effect sign? And if so, how may I go about doing so?
@sawman9999 You can use property signs to alter the maximum speed of the minecart gradually as it reaches the top, then, at the top place a station sign to launch back down. There you can also re-set the max speed to whatever you want.
On another node: made a mistake and destinations ended up broken as a result. Use an earlier build or wait a few minutes-hours until I publish the fix for it.
Hi, got the plugin working. how can i make like a drop of doom ride, where a minecart goes up a ladder slowly then when it gets to the top it drops. ive looked everywhere and cant find how, anyone help please?
@sawman9999 Just in case your issue is one of many: did you try the dev-builds of BKCommonLib and TrainCarts? You can find them by clicking the image link DEVELOPMENT BUILDS at the bottom of the page(s). The official build of BKCommonLib listed there is not supported on 1.5.2, I am finalizing that now.
@bergerkiller
@bergerkiller
Well im using a 1.5.2 server so im assuming the only version that will work is the latest, which is the only 1.5.2 version.
@NorbuGames Expect 1.6 builds of BKCommonLib around this weekend, with a small chance some dev-builds on friday.
@sawman9999 Tickets do get answers, I just haven't been doing much the last weeks due to exams. Did you make sure to use the right downloads for the right CraftBukkit version?
Hi, I have a problem, didnt want 2 post a ticket cause they arent getting answers, its quite simple really. I own a hosted server and i tried to install it into the server and it doesnt show in my plugins list, so i manually put it into my folder, again it doesnt show. so ya WTF? Same thing with BKCommonLib.any help PLEASE
