Plugin: TrainCarts - Linked Minecarts, sign-redstone systems, easy to use and realistic
Version: v1.73.0
Build: 1.7.2 R0.1/R0.2
Incompatible with: RailCraft
Description
This plugin looks for suitable Minecarts and links them together if possible. When two Minecarts are being "linked", the Minecarts will act as one single moving train.
Once carts are successfully linked, an effect is played and their velocity is shared in combination with an individual factor for each Minecart, which is used to remain a steady gap between carts. This gap is adjustable, the force at which this happens as well.
End result: a train! You can move it, make a roller-coaster out of it, split it in half, watch trains collide, whatever you want to do with trains. :)
As for 1.21, it is also possible to safely exit your train by setting an exit offset with a (sideways) push factor for the train. This feature is disabled by default. (only affects dropped items). If you want to display arrival times on signs (see redstone circuit part) you need SignLink, see the downloads on the bottom of the page.
As for 1.35 you can set train properties to make 'special' trains, or to 'finalize' a train

Note that I would prefer having comments, bug reports and others in the main Bukkit page, since I visit that site the most. :)
Addons
Special Addons for TrainCarts
Features
- Link minecarts using collision: no commands needed to make a train
- Move trains as easily as you would with single Minecarts
- Store trains to file for persistence during reloads and server restarts
- Use sign-redstone circuits for subway systems, complete railroads and much more
- Station to gracefully stop and launch trains
- Spawn
- Teleport
- Property setters
- Tag systems to switch certain tracks based on tags on the train
- Destination systems to make your train travel to far-away lands all on it's own
- Supports Minecart Mania's features
- Infinite minecart speeds are possible
- Push-away: Push mobs, players and items away from your trains to keep them running
- Everything is configurable, if something proves not to be, I will make it that way
FAQ
When players are near, trains reach their destinations. With no one near, they don't. What do I do?
By default trains do not keep chunks loaded, and they will unload once they move into unloaded chunks. To make trains keep the chunk area (and themselves) around them loaded, set the 'keepchunksloaded' property to True. This can be done using the /train keepchunksloaded true command, using a property sign or by changing it to true in the DefaultTrainProperties.yml file. For more information about train properties, see here.
Why not boats?!?!
Incompatibilities
If you have another plugin that performs similar Minecart replacement techniques, it is likely that TrainCarts will not function or function poorly. For the 'chunk persistence' part of this plugin, other plugins that unload chunks without firing events result in this feature failing. Minebackup is known for having this problem.
Metrics
This plugin sends server count statistics to MCStats.org. You can (globally) opt out in the PluginMetrics/config.yml file.
Thanks for reply berger, but it isn't all issues. All can I show you on my server but I think that you don't have time.
I have problems with: - Minecarts which fall underground when train is on the move (with no reason) - When train is moving on curved rails carts will derail and train is now corrupted - Minecarts which are in unloaded chunks are disconnected, freezed and unable to interact (except damaging it) - Plugin is heavily unstable and sometimes makes laggs.
@joeymolhoek If a player can destroy the cart then that means the player is an owner of this cart. By default, carts spawned by the spawner sign are owned by everyone. You can change this in the DefaultTrainProperties.yml by specifying an owner there. Or, otherwise put a property sign after the spawner sign that sets the owner. You can use any (non-existent) name for the owner name of the cart. I could not spot any bugs with this when testing.
@Jacold (Late reply) I shall fix that, looks like it has to do with destroying a Furnace Minecart.
@sopo201 You need to set /train collision mob enter before they can, or toggle it on globally in the DefaultTrainProperties
@richy17 @limdingwen I'll keep this in mind, although I'm not sure what could be it. If you could make a video showing it that would help tremendously.
When is the next update?
I can still break traincarts :l
@richy17
Just helping in case anyone can't understand: I found a bug. When I step into a minecart, it becomes slow and it shakes.
Not that I found the bug. It sounds great as a song though!
Hi. I can't seem to get animals in trains or carts, even after I claimed them.
I got an annoying bug
Players can destroy the cart,
Do you know an fix for it? or is it bugged?
I found a bug, when i step into a minecart. then he gonna ride slow and everything shakes. (Sorry for my bad english im dutch)
http://pastie.org/8400088 Here's paste errors when train are left for few minutes. I have get on the minecart and fuel 'diesel' (mcart with frnc). Then I've kicked with message "internal server error". Could you do something with this? And next one http://pastie.org/8400216 Error appeared when I've destroyed diesel then train is moving.
It would be very good. Since the last version for MCPC+ I got to work without problems, was for 1.2.5.
@miat1170 Hmn MCPC+ again...annoying that more and more bugfixes ended up missing MCPC+ support as the BKCommonLib version goes way back. Might be forced to make another 1.5.2 REVISITED version for it...
Thank you, but to no avail. To that I was riding on the train. Installed plugins: BKCommonLib-1.52 TrainCarts-1.72.8 ScrollingMenuSign-2.1.1 that's all. Version: mcpc-plus-1.5.2-R1.1-forge738-B644
Hi, I have a Problem, always, if i want to send a Train on a Testroute from the Spawner to Destination A. it don´t drive to A. on the Sign stands 1.Line[Train ICE] 2.Line: Property 3.Line:Destination 4.Line:A. The Train ist named with /trainsetname ICE, the Sign is powered with Redstone, and /train reroute was made. But he drive always the wrong direction. on the Destination Sign stands also 1.Line [train ICE].... without the ICE at the destination Sign, it doesn´t work, too... Can you help me? I need the train specific Routes, because i want let drive 2-3 Trains on 1 Rail with different Directions.
regards Gungo/NkL
General update: finally had some time to fix the annoying problem with slopes and curves tearing trains apart. Also fixed the reported issue with item count statement not working (at all).
@miat1170 You need to set keepchunksloaded to true for the train, otherwise the train will unload when driving out of range of players. Use /train keepchunksloaded true or the keeploaded property for the property sign.
I'm sorry, but I repeat the question: how can change the speed at which the cart departs from the station and moving between them (TrainCarts 1.72.8, setting the standard.)? The fact that after passing about 450 block in 1 minute cart stopped, before reaching the next station. In the course of the movement was turning 2, the descent on 1 block and 1 block on the rise. Is this normal?
@woeterman94
The dev builds do, yes.
Does it work on 1.6.4?
@Ant1venom It should work fine on the latest 1.55-SNAPSHOT though, the error you have was in an earlier snapshot - which I fixed.
@bergerkiller
Well we are on the 1.55 Snapshot of BKCommonLib. Should I bring it back to 1.54, or is there a version that I'm just not seeing?
@Ant1venom Update BKCommonLib to the latest build to fix it, as it was an issue there.
@Daikenkaiking Noted, once I get the physics fixed I will work on it.
This error occurs when a train tries to use elevators in the 1.73.0 snapshot on 1.6.4 running BKCommonLib 1.55-SNAPSHOT. When this occurs, the minecart just disappears, and the error appears in console.
