What is TimedPEx?
TimedPEx is a plugin which automatically ranks users to another PermissionsEx group after a set period of time. This can be useful for servers that have a hierarchy by gameplay time, or to automatically change players from 'default' or guest ranks to 'member' for being active on a server.
Features
- Configurable settings
- Automatic generation of settings for new permission groups
- Player sessions stored in file on quit/server shutdown, and saved regularly.
- Configurable permissions
- Essentials users can disable players from ranking up whilst they are AFK.
- Get notified on plugin updates (1.3.1+)
- Vault is not required.
Requirements
- CraftBukkit 1.4.7-R1.0+ (Support for Dev. Build 1.5.1-R0.1)
- PermissionsEx 1.19.5+ (download)

Plugins take time to make. If you would consider making a donation at the top right of this screen, it will help me pay the rent :D
If you have your reasons why you can't, don't worry. Go ahead, download and enjoy it for free :)
@BMK2K7
Yeah that should work :) Though if the group "Member" isn't capitalized in permissions then de-capitalize it here. So "Member" > "member".
this should be?
@hardwarewizard
New updated pushed has fixed this.
@hardwarewizard
Yep, as I was just testing it this happened. Don't know why. Will look into this.
ok this just set everyone that logged in to [ ]
any idea why?
@BMK2K7
Yep, where the time-to-next-rank is set for the group "user" change it to 131487 (3 months in minutes) :P
Hey guys I want add rank 'user' and after 3 month's rank automatically be changed to 'member' and member will have more privileges. Is this possible?
@mc_RROD
Hey could you add a commands showing your ontime or howlong it will take you to rank up?
@WESandTER
For now please start and stop your server correctly (not using the /reload command), in the meantime I'm working on a fix :3 Thanks
Reloading causes errors for me
@Gonzoman10
I'd suggest you use something like Command Signs if it's still around, or get users to press a button which activates a command block.
@mc_RROD
Thanks!
could you add signs to this... so if they finish a maze or some kind of test on the server than they can be ranked up? because if you can do that.... dude... BESTIES!
my server is becoming more popular and a sign rankup would be amazing...

Oh my god yes :S I just put in a debug message and watched as it spammed the console. Fixing now.
I seem to have hit a problem.
All the time I have this plugin running, my disk gets thrashed. What the plugin is doing is constantly updating the file "sessions.yml". (If I constantly reread the file, I can see that each user's logged on time has gone by a few milliseconds).
I have tried varying the "save-frequency: 15" setting in the config file (I set it as high as 15000) but this didn't seem to help.
I am using the following: TimedPEx 1.2.1 (and also the development build 1.2.2) 1.5.1-R0.1 (Build #02717) (and others) java version "1.7.0_15" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea7 2.3.7) (7u15-2.3.7-0ubuntu112.04.1) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.7-b01, mixed mode) Ubuntu (64 bit) 12.04.2 (kernel 3.2.0-39)
@mc_RROD
Thanks. Got it set up on my server. Seems to do the job well.
As an aside, the first time I edited my config file, I made a syntax error in the file. When I restarted, the error was highlighted in the server.log file. Your plugin then deleted the config file and replaced it with the default.
It would have saved a bit of cursing on my side if when the plugin finds an error in the config file it writes a message in the log and then disables itself.
@nickbus
Apologies, must have forgotten to document it. The time to next rank is in minutes.
Just trying out this plugin.
For the documentation of the configuration file, it would be really good if you could include an example.
Also, for the field "time-to-next-rank:" please could you tell me the units? Is the default value of 10, 10 seconds, 10 hours 10 days.
Many thanks
N
@gnarlerman
Thanks for letting me know about this. Also yes, it does appear that I didn't check whether I was removing the previous rank.
Releasing a patch now.
