SkyRider
SkyRider is a simple world generator which generates grassy end stone sky islands from Y=96 - 224. These islands have stone and wool monoliths as well as trees on them, and are inhabited by Endermen. The material variety is just enough to eke out a living moving from island to island.
This plugin requires Multiverse 2
In the chat, type /mv create [your world name] normal -g SkyRider to get the world generating. It's pretty hard on the server initially, and tends to boot players. I would recommend using a limited map size if you can.
I'm very interested to see what people build using this plugin, so please post screenshots of your work!
If he makes it open source then someone will be able to come along and keep it updated :P
If this plugin does break eventually i hope someone will update it :(
@DavidTeather
It relies on bukkit api so it doesn't break easily, also mine was compiled with
Bukkit_API_1.5.2_R3.
Still works for 1.5.1 server just takes a while to generate it
@OneHardWire
Update Got a small config going and added prebuilt biome setup with rarity and a option to keep default gen.
@idy26
I can and any other suggestions? Also going to make a config for biome generation.
Can someone please just modify this so that it doesn't generate the Sky Biome endlessly, but rather Forest, or something that will let mobs spawn.
@hypothete
What a pity..... :(
Hi all, I'm no longer active in the Minecraft community, so I will not be maintaining this plugin any more. Here's a GitHub repository with all of the code: https:github.com/hypothete/SkyRider
Any good seeds?
Hello,
BTW your plugin is awesome :)
A little tricky when you spawn on a classic server the island you spawn on is normal protected making even harder to get off the island if not impossible ... ( as an op i just build the first bridges manual :) I also noticed while playing there's not any coal ? is this normal without the light the enderman are super evil, can i say Lava is a life saver?
I found a minor fix for a bug in your Plugin:
In SkyRiderGenerator in function void setBlock(XXX)
The max world high should be 255 (256-1) not 256 that is why you are getting a null error and needing to catch the error.
Thankx again!
Hey! I love this Mod, but I got far enough from the spawn point, and the world became normal again :S Why is that?
Awesome!
@Galexrt
Sorry, the Endstone is part of the challenge. :)
@Weegee011
Hi Weegee, I know what you're talking about - the chunks take a lot of processing power to initially render. I would recommend rendering the map when you first create it out to a certain radius. WorldBorder can do this with its fill function, and I'm sure WorldEdit can do something similar.
Crashes when I travel. Any ideas?
make blocks configurable, bcause i want dirt for end stone ;-)
