@Nom9000
Sorry but I do not have the time to work on this project at the moment (as you can see, updates on this project are very slow).
When can we expect to see the ProtocolLib hook update? Any sort of general timeframe (don't want to seem like I'm rushing you or anything, but I would like to put this on my server, but only after that update).
Looking forward to using this, seems pretty legit!
@pilvimaa
When the ProtocolLib hook will be totally ready, you will not need to change biomes anymore :)
However, a backup file is automatically created on the first launch. Check the backups folder if you are scared :p
@elyssah
It has.
I tried Skyoseasons on my test server and while it worked very nicely I discovered one thing that totally broke it for me.
You are actually changing the biomes and once they are changed there is no normalcy to be had. All the biomes will always be plains or desert or what ever. This breaks every other plugin and piece of code that tries to detect what biome you're at and do something based on that information.
Custom plant growth - breaks. Custom farming based on biomes - breaks. Hypothermia based on cold biomes - breaks, kind of. Thirst based on biomes - breaks.
And so on.
Some of this could be handled in some ways, but...
I would like to hear more about this protocol lib based thing that you're developing. I tried it on the latest version of Skyoseasons and couldn't get it actually do anything so I guess it's pretty much still work-in-progress, right?
But when it's ready how is it going to work? Will it address some/all of the above issues?
Please tell us more about your plans for the future?
Over all I think Skyoseasons was the best seasons plugin on Bukkit (I tried all of them, most didn't even work, were implemented in a really ass backwards fashion or the project was mostly abandoned/etc.) It's kind of shame that I can't use it on my production server because of the numerous conflicts that creeped up.
Keep up the good work.
I would really love to see it save the season on shutdown/restart too.
@fernetek
Not at the moment, sorry :/
Hey, is there any way to have the plugin save the current season-time when stopping the server? I'm using the plugin for solo play, and it's quite annoying that the current season starts over every time I restart the server, especially since I made winter longer for a survival challenge.
@EtianHelvold
I think I will implement ProtocolLib soon but I am working on another project.
When I have the time ;)
@fernetek You can use a separate plugin for that if this one doesn't have it (I used to have RealWeather for that feature when I used the old Seasons plugin).
Also, I have a question. Can the biomes be restored upon reaching, for instance, spring? I'd like them to be the minecraft default biomes during spring and then my biomes during other seasons. The old seasons plugin hadn't any of these problems because it used protocollib so it didn't actually change the biomes.
Is hard weather (ex. freezing during winter) coming anytime soon? I've been waiting for this mod to add it before I get back into MC :(
@RIDER225LP
Okay ;)
I'll send you a link to PM when I'm done. It will take about 2 days cuz my internet is laggy :/
@RIDER225LP
That sound cool ;)
If you want I can make video in Czech :)
@FabioZumbi12
I do not need to update it because it does not use NMS.
But I will make an update soon ;)
@FabioZumbi12
Fuu...you need to put a big warning about this xD I have teste on my pc and run good, but on my host... laggy and stoping because memory!
You go to update to 1.7?
Thank You.
@FabioZumbi12
Nop, you need to have done a backup with the Skyoseasons option.
If i remove the plugin, the biomes back to normal?
@Squawkers13
I do not know, create a ticket here.
Why is it incompatible with the only good multi-world plugin!?
