Simple Prefix: Allows you to easily manage your chat with prefixes and suffixes.
This plugin uses prefixes and suffixes that are very easy to configure, from inside of an yml config file. You apply prefixes and suffixes per user or group in the /SimplePrefix/config.yml file.
Alternatively, Simple Prefix can be configured to get the prefixes and suffixes from Vault supported chat plugins instead (PermissionsEx, bPermissions, etc.)
You can fully alter the chat format. For example, you could achieve the following ingame:
- [Admin] Flabaliki: my message here
Or even, just completely mix and match the template to get the look you want.
A developer API is available to those who wish to access prefixes and suffixes and use them within their own plugin. Click "Metadata" above.
That's basically what this is, just a lightweight plugin for quickly getting your prefixes and suffixes to work, however you want.
Read the Configuration page for instructions on how to use the plugin.
Features:
- Uses permissions to apply prefixes and suffixes to selected users or groups.
- Alternatively, can use prefixes and suffixes from plugins supported by Vault.
- Formatting/color codes are fully supported.
- Configure the chat format to display however you want.
- Developer API for fetching prefixes and suffixes.
- Easy to use commands for adding / removing prefixes in game.
- Set prefixes and suffixes per group or per user.
- Plays nicely with Essentials /nick command.
- Option to allow multiple prefixes / suffixes, and a configurable separator which is placed between them to separate them.
- A prefix or suffix tier system (so that you can make multiple ranking ladders).
- UUID support
- Offline mode server support (using usernames instead of UUIDs)
- Factions chat tags support (read our Configuration page)
Installation:
- Place Simple Prefix.jar into your plugins folder
- Restart or reload your server
- Edit your config.yml (see here for info)
Please carefully read the Configuration page!

As of version 2.3.1, this plugin uses an automatic updater to check if you are running the latest version, and if not, it downloads the latest version. To disable this please set "Auto-Update" to "false" in the config.yml file.
@deleted_8156133
Yes, I've said this hundreds of times before to other people, you need to use simpleprefix.<group>: false to cancel it out if you don't want that prefix on that group.
@Flabaliki
Don't you have to put another permission for a group to cancel out inheritance? mChat is like that. Like to falsify the previous groups prefix.
@Flabaliki
I cant operate make the new video flabaliki
I'm having a problem with the plugin. I have everything set up correctly, and I can't get it to work. I tried the in-game commands and the config file setup. And getting rid of the [world] in the simple prefix config doesn't remove it in-game.Here is the permissionsbukkit node (without the spacing) setup, and I don't have a lot yet, so don't judge me :P

@Flabaliki
Ok, so I got the permissions thing fixed, I made a group called Owner on the Simple Prefix config, but whenever I log in, I'm listed as Guest. In PermissionsBukkit, under users, I put myself in a group called Owner. Why am I listed as Guest?

Pasting configs into comments like that is not easy to see.
Surround it with these tags so it's easy to read:

Hi, I'm having problems with my simple prefix and permissions bukkit. Whenever, I go on the server, I try to use the prefix commands, but it just keeps on saying /spr help. Also, I'm stuck on default but I already listed my groups and I don't have a "default" group. Here they are..

@BizBink
That might be a bug, I'll go test that myself.
Edit: Yeah that was a bug, I forgot to check for a null result. Fixed in v2..0.1
Alright I get it basically now but... how do i get rid of the world part? every time i leave it blank it messes up everything or if i delete it the outcome is the same
@Zumerock
agreeed...
@Flabaliki
Flabaliki , please , make a new video for us.
This doesn't make sense, I literally did exactly what you did (and extra steps you took) and no luck... what would the permissions config look like if I wants to add a prefeix thats red for an admin named "BizBink" and what would the prefix config look like?
Im sorry but your video just isnt good enough... something doesnt work
