SignEdit
Description
This plugin allows you to edit signs while they are still on block/wall they were placed on.
Features
- Logging.. Every edit made to a sign is logged in either console or a separate log file.
- Colours! See the Colours With SignEdit page
- As an added bonus, SignEdit will parse colours when you place a sign.
- SignEdit throws a SignChangeEvent with every edit. This means that if a player is trying to make a sign that they don't have permission to create, they can't! This is compatible with almost every major plugin that uses signs. It also works with HawkEye, so you can see who changed what!

Thanks to VariationVault for featuring SignEdit in a tutorial video on YouTube:
Are you sure that your SignChangedEvent-Stuff works? Because a user just informed me that he could edit the signs of Chestshops...so he could modify everything, and the shop reacted like the sign said....he could even copy an entire adminshop-sign...
The confignode uselwc is enabled, the signs were private and in a worldguard protected region, so he had no rights to edit those signs...luckily he is an honest person and informed us instantly, so we disabled the plugin for the time being..but please try figuring out the problem, your plugin is awesome^^
@RustyDagger
Pushing update in about an hour, file name will always be SignEdit.jar from now on.
Awesome plugin! Thanks!
@Timroden
/facepalm ..... No you just added a feature that allows players to type color codes on the signs and have that turn into colors Yes? I want only people with X permission to be able to do that not every player.
also i have another bone to pick.
This IS THE ONLY plugin i know that adds the version number to the jar name this is incredibly annoying. why? because I cant just drag and drop the jar and press overwrite because it has a different name to the last i have to manually scan my plugin jars and remove the old version this could lead to bug reports caused by server owners having 2 copy's of the plugin running.
Not only is it annoying its unneeded server owners should be and ARE organized enough to know when they last updated X plugin and I even keep a text file.
@RustyDagger
Not quite getting you, you want a phrases.yml to add certain phrases, and only certain people can use them?
Could we please have a permission node for the phrase on place.
I would like to enable it but still have control over it. I think it would make a nice addition to my VIP perks.
VERY NICE! THANK YOU!
thank you!!!! havent downloaded the newest version yet lol. ima try it now
@xXKomeXx
I'll push it tonight.
is the next update gonna be in 1.4.0 :o? or will it possibly be soon? I'm waiting for color signs without commands >.<
@xXKomeXx
This will be available in the next update.
Made a video after a long time thinking :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpQW7MtNKWM&feature=plcp
Can you make it so that you can color your text while writing a sign without editing it?
@karatetoes
Will be fixed in the next update (coming soon to a server near you)
@Eyferann
First, please create a ticket following the template provided, and provide the entire stack trace.
Secondly, for simplicity's sake, use 1-4 to change a specific line.
Thanks, Timr
Hello,
My name is Braden and I am currently running a prison server. I also own a youtube channel and I recently did a plugin showcase over your plugin. I was wondering if you would be interested in posting it on this page for people to watch it and to learn how to use the plugin. I apologize if there is another place to ask this and I'm not using it, but I didn't think sending a support ticket was the proper idea. I hope to hear back from you about this.
Thank you for considering,
Braden Brandon
If you go over the signs 17 characters limit for even color code, when it pastes the color code on the sign its spacing is off.
looking forward to a 1.3 update!
@Cyprias
Thanks. That's what I was hoping to hear. Now if I only stayed awake for another 10 minutes last night to read your reply...
@lANTHONYl
When a player uses SignEdit, after they punch the sign SignEdit sends a SignPlace event to all plugins that listen for the event, plugins think a sign is being placed by the player and do their usual sign place checks. WorldGuard should catch the event and block the sign place (generally causing the sign to pop off).
