Shopkeepers
Set up custom villager shopkeepers that sell exactly what you want them to sell and for what price. You can set up admin shops, which have infinite supply, and you can also set up player shops, which pull supply from a chest.
It will also prevent any other trades with non-shopkeeper villagers, if you want it to.
For those who are simply looking for a convenient way to modify the trades of vanilla villagers (as an alternative to using complex Minecraft commands), the plugin also includes a graphical editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
Basic Features
- Easily create villager shopkeepers that trade the items you want them to trade.
- Admins shops with infinite supplies.
- Player shops which pull supplies from a chest.
- Different types of player shops: selling, buying, trading, and selling books.
- Various supported mob types to represent your shopkeeper, sign shops, and Citizens (NPC) shops.
- Editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
- Many configuration options.
- Translatable messages.
- Open source (Source code on GitHub)
Supported server versions
Shopkeepers supports the latest versions of Bukkit / Spigot.
Note that this plugin is created to work with CraftBukkit (or alternatively Spigot). Bukkit does not have an API for some of the things necessary to make this plugin work. This means that other server software (Tekkit, Forge, Cauldron, etc.) will not work with this plugin.
Other CraftBukkit or Spigot derivatives/forks might work, but are not officially supported. So if you run into issues while using those, try to reproduce your issue on a fresh and up-to-date Spigot server first.

Statistics
This plugin uses bStats to collect anonymous plugin usage statistics. This helps me to determine how many servers are using the plugin, which Minecraft versions it is used with the most, and to which degree the different features are used.
Here is a list of all currently tracked information:
- Common information: The number of servers using the plugin, the number of players on these servers, online mode, Minecraft version, plugin version, core count, system arch, operating system, server country, Java version.
- Shopkeepers specific information: Whether specific related plugins are used (Citizens, Towny, WorldGuard, Gringotts, other Vault economy plugins), number of shops, whether player shops are used, whether certain features are enabled in the config (ex. WorldGuard/Towny compatibility, Citizens shops, delayed saves, colored names, chest protection, removal of inactive shops, tax rate, strict item comparison, purchase logging, disabling of other villagers, ..), the number of worlds containing shops.
- All information can be publicly viewed here: https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/Shopkeepers/
If you want to disable bStats for all plugins on your server, edit the file plugins/bStats/config.yml, or alternatively disable it only for Shopkeepers by setting 'enable-metrics' to 'false' inside the Shopkeepers config.
Known potential issues
A list of known potential issues of the latest version of Shopkeepers can be found in the wiki: This documents differences between Minecraft/Spigot versions, and existing Minecraft/Spigot issues related to Shopkeepers.
If you run into an issue, check if this list already contains and maybe offers information on how to handle it.

Want to help?
The less I have to do myself, the more time I have to write plugins. Therefore I am looking for someone who would be willing to get involved in the project. That could for example mean:
- Keeping the documentation (the wiki) up-to-date with plugin updates.
- Improving the existing documentation.
- Creating and maintaining translations.
- Help managing issues and answering questions of users.
If you are a programmer with experience in writing bukkit plugins, or have ideas on how you can contribute to the project beyond that, let me know as well! If you are interested, feel free to contact me via PM.
Beyond that, everybody is invited to help others with issues and questions in the issue tracker, comment section, and the discord channel! Also consider contributing translations!
Third-Party Add-On Plugins
Sometimes a feature is either to specific to include it directly into the Shopkeepers plugin, or I did not yet have the time to add something similar myself. The plugins listed here extend the functionality of the Shopkeepers plugin.
These plugins are maintained by other community members. If you run into issues while using any of these add-ons, try to first reproduce your problem without any add-ons before you report it.
ShopkeepersNavAddon(abandoned): Adds inventory-based GUIs that allow you to browse all player shops, all admin shops, and to find shops that trade a specific type of item. You can teleport to a particular shopkeeper by clicking a button inside the GUI.
This plugin also integrates support for trading with Vault-based currency, but does so by replacing Shopkeepers' normal trade handling.
If you have also written an add-on plugin and want it listed here, let me know!
@DeusOccisor
You can already modify the name regex in the config, which determines which chracters players can use in shopkeeper names. You can find documentation on how regex work here: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/util/regex/Pattern.html
So depending on what type of punctuation you want to allow, you have to add those to the regex in the config.
Can you add support for punctuation (apostrophes, commas, dashes) in NPC names?
@sondia
No, I would prefer all downloads being available from this official source only.

Create a ticket and attach your server log there.
im OPEARATOR !
An internal error occurred while attempting tp perform this command....
pls help me
Does anyone know why I cant get the traded item out with SHIFT+Rightclick? Only SHIFT+Leftclick and normal drag n drop works...
@blablubbabc
Thank you for the quick answer, an auto-fill dispenser seems like a good suggestion, thank you!
@vntqm
Nope. But there are already plugins out there you can use toi give players either certain items when they forst join, or setup some kind of auto-refilling dispenser at spawn.
Would it be possible with an admin shopkeeper to "trade" away an item for free? - let's say golden shovels and a pre-written book?
Also, extremely good plugin, I can not recommend it enough!
@l_Alchimista
They should disappear during the world save, and then reappear. If this is not the case, then make sure that no other plugin is preventing them from getting spawned.
@blablubbabc
yeah, that was the problem. now i can create 'em, but when my server saves the world, all the traders desappear :(
@l_Alchimista
You are probably creating a buying or selling shopkeeper. You will want to create a trading shopkeeper.
Regarding setup: You can read about that above as well.
i have a problem : when i try to drag things from my inventory into the shopkeeper editor to decide what he can change for what, i can't drag nothing cause the item is deselected suddenly and i can't change the "money" system. i can use only the emeralds. i'm using it on a craftbukkit 1.9.2 server what should i do ?
@blablubbabc
I know what you mean. I was just hoping you faced this issue and could help me solve the problem. I don't have time right now for making fresh server, I will look at it tomorrow and post here my results.
I hope this is a plugin issue (conflict) and not a spigot issue. Thanks.
@Scratchy741
Well, I can only give suggestions on what steps might help to track down the 'actual' issue. On the way you will have to either find the mistake in what you are doing/expecting, or some other plugin which is causing the issue, or you have to end up with a step by step tutorial on how I can reproduce the issue on a fresh and empty spigot server. Only then I can look into fixing any issue which might be there.
A simple 'it doesn't work, no matter what' will not help tracking down the underlying issue :(
If you don't find the issue you might also want to test on the latest 1.10 spigot server version, to make sure that not some issue in your spigot server is causing this.
@blablubbabc
I will try this on fresh server but I think I did it already like month ago. I've tried "use-strict-item-comparison" to set it to false but nothing has changed.
@Scratchy741
Make sure to also try it on a fresh server without other plugins interfering. If nothing helps, you could also try setting 'use-strict-item-comparison' to false in the config. Though that shouldn't make any difference for fully similar items..
@blablubbabc
I was testing it even with regular items with same result. Debug does not write anything to console nor chat. I was using your plugin on 1.7.X and it worked properly. Now I'm using 1.9.2. Edit: Not sure now but I've tried it on clean server like month ago,
@Scratchy741
There have been plugins in the past which silently modify items on the fly. So no matter how you create your item, it might be a different one once your insert it into the trading slot.
Turn on debug mode and see if it prints anything useful. If the issue is indeed about a mismatch of the items, then you will have to debug your plugins to see what they are doing with the item. I would start with the plugin you use for creating any custom items. Maybe also try this on a local test server without other plugins interfering.
