Please post a comment letting me know what you think about the plugin and if the recipes are too overpowered or underpowered. Also if you have recipes you would like to see in the plugin let me know, thanks!
Salvage allows players to breakdown crafted items into basic material. Think of it like uncrafting an item.
Take advantage of this plugin by uncrafting almost broken tools into something useful.
The beauty of Salvage is that you don't need a crafting table.
By default, permission are not required!
Just put the item into the crafting zone and click to receive your salvaged materials.
If you're basing the return ratio on salvaging from SmeltCraft, you need to clearly detail that this plugin is meant for use with SmeltCraft.
Otherwise, people using different crafting plugins may see quite a few nonsensical returns on certain salvage recipes.
Given the nature of salvaging (that in real life, it's not a perfect process and is only meant for the recovery of materials meaning it is always inefficient to a degree), it would be better if the item-returns were ranges rather than exact numbers.
So for instance, if I were to salvage a diamond chestplate, instead of a guaranteed 3 diamonds, the return could be anywhere from 1-6 diamonds, and each integer could have a different weight chance (e.g. I'm more likely to get 3 diamonds back than 6 diamonds). This feature by itself would make this plugin stand out from all the other crafting-related plugins out there. ;)
Great plugin, I pretend to use it as a reward for some high ranked players, could you implement a permission so the salvage option is not disponible to everyone by default? Thanks!
6 iron ingots+1 stick give us 16 rails
One rail can be salvaged to 2 iron ingots. So, 6 iron ingots and one stick magically turns into 32 iron ingots. Pure profit are (2*16)-6=26 iron ingots. Sad. :(
Noticed that SmeltCraft has an in-depth recipe to make ice using snow and water, but Salvage can make a block of ice from a block of snow. Should probably disable the snow to ice salvage for consistency.
Yep for some reason I confused it with another download I was testing. Got it working now. Some comments for ya:
1. It doesn't seem to salvage worn items - I tried all varieties of harvesting tools, bow, swords, and armor. As for returns on these, I would suggest half the primary material returned on anything above 50% durability, and just 25% (minimum one) returned below 50% durability.
2. For balance sake, I would say you should only be able to break down harvesting tools, weapons, materials (as listed in your description), food, and any other item that is crafted with just the 2x2 grid from the survival crafting window - everything else should require the workbench.
please update 1.12.2 !! still working fine ;-)
Any chance this is still being worked on?
Any chance this could be updated to 1.8+?
@RNAi
I'm so happy to see you ! Hope this plugin can continue develop , and it's a awesome plugin !
@smallpen
Thanks for bringing this bug to my attention, I will remove the recipe!
@smallpen
this is a serious duping bug. It needz to be fixed. Nice one for pointin that out ;)
Big bug ! 6 Iron Ingot can make 16 Iron Bars . 1 Iron Bars can make 2 Iron Ingot ! So 6 Iron Ingot => 32 Iron Ingot ????
could you make it so we can define custom recepies

@zkiller20
Yea :( with different plugins it's hard to balance because with my SmeltCraft you need a diamond helmet for the horse armour
Stablecraft needs 6 diamonds to make 1 horse armour :/
@Rickydou
Thanks for your input, SmeltCraft needs 1 diamond helmet + 4 diamonds = 9 diamond to make 1 horse armour.
Salavage gives you 10 diamonds from 1 horse armour :)
I will nerf all horse armor salvage from 10 to 7
Goodt job Bro .. Details Smelcraft - Armor Horse 6 Diamond and Salvage Extract 10 diamond .. profit 4 diamond ;( thanks to change Salvage Extract 4 Diamond Use ;) Sory my language.
Hello everyone! Thank you for your comments, I will be working on Salvage now that I have free time :)

There are some unbalanced recipe:

@RNAi : just wanted to point out that it seems your plugins stop working when RecipeCreator is also installed.
is it possible to define your own salvage recipes and disables the ones that I don't need?

@aalwein
Hi, can you try reloading all plugins again because the plugin is not called SalvageSmelter and the version is not v0.1.7 like you said
