Hello everybody,
This is Tobias aka Phoenix, the developer of this project. I am sad to inform you that RegionForSale, just like the Bukkit project, is pretty much dead nowadays. I do not like the fact that Minecraft is owned by Microsoft and, even though I respect the company, I cannot see how the spirit of Minecraft fits in there at all. Shame on you for selling, Notch! I do not care about the money involved. But this game, no matter how much profit it generates, belongs into the hands of loving, independent developers (Just like Bukkit – love you guys). My opinion. To be fair: My interest shifted in general as well. So overall, I am not willing to work on this project for free anymore.
Q: What about security updates / bugfixes?
A: I will do my best to still fix those and upload a new version for you. I do not want to let you down.
Q: Will you continue if I donate xx dollar?
A: Probably not. Please try to estimate the time I spend and apply a horrific minimal wage – I am sure you still do not want to pay that. Yes, it’s quite some time.
I still want to thank you very much for the few donations I received up to this point. Developing was fun and I was so very euphoric when I received my first donation. I still remember quite well. Not to forget about the many supportive comments and “thank you”s I received despite the money.
Sincerely,
Phoenix_IV

Updating
RegionForSale provides an automatic update checker to let you get informed as soon as a new version is available. If you do not want to use this feature you can set check_for_updates to false in the general.yml config file.
Todo
- Quick-set options on signs
- Give users, who rented a region, the possibility to buy it (without unrenting + possible rebuilding). The other way round would be retarded - Tell me if you don't think so.
- Auto-updater for minor updates (?)

@Adrenalineq auto-rebuild as option woud be nice
@Phoenix_IV
ok :P i ask because i want to change from SimpleRegionMarket to this ;)
@Adrenalineq
At the moment I'm fixing some more bugs and implement the features mentioned above (and some more which aren't listed above atm - a lot to do). The next step would be a detailed written Tutorial/Description. If everything looks fine then, I'll add it in the Bukkit forum, so that it's listed in the official plugin-list. Finally I think I'll try to make a video-tutorial.. :)
And all the time I hope my work will survive the upcoming changes with Minecraft 1.3 :P
@Phoenix_IV
What are you doing now?, with this plugin ? ;) which "planned features" ?
@Adrenalineq
Wow, thanks! :)
Here you have Polish language:

@Adrenalineq
Already had this in mind ;) Maybe I will add auto-rebuild as option, but I think if materials are left over the next player would be very happy ;D
@Phoenix_IV
Possible to make, automatic clean region when rent is over? :-)
@HexaDroid
I think I know what's the problem - I'm on it.
Update: Ok, I don't know the problem... Could you please post the shown error-message (console) here: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/regionforsale/tickets/5-error-when-using-rg-buy-with-boseconomy/ ?
Oh ok. I used /region, instead of //region :)
edit:
Ok seems to be a bit buggy. I did make the region and place the sign then I did
'//rg buy' and it gave me this error 'an internal error occured while performing this command'
Then I tried //region buy and it said 'this region is already taken'
So apperently I bought the region while it still gave me the first error? And it also didn't take the money from my account (I use BOSEconomy)
@HexaDroid
I just released it and I will add more instructions in the following days of course.
You can find commands & permissions on the sub-pages of this mod: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/regionforsale/pages/
About the problem you currently have: I don't exactly know why nothing happens. If something went wrong (e.g. no permissions to define regions) you should get a response from WorldGuard. Otherwise you should get a message that you can place a sign now.
Was there any error shown in the console?
Update: Maybe because of this: The correct command is "//region define <type> <name>" (Hmm i should make <type> optional :) ).
But you should have received a ingame-message about that anyway, haven't you?
I'm not sure how to use it tbh. I've installed it and follow these instructions
Else
Select a region using WorldEdit
Type //region define <name>
Place a sign
But nothing seems to happen? :p
A more extensive guide would be welcome and like I said in the PM what are the permission nodes?
thanks in advance.
yay ;) its looks nice
@HexaDroid
Yes, it should work with all 1.2.5 builds.
Helping me with the translation would be very nice of you, I'll pm you :)
PS: I'd also help if you need english to dutch translation.
First time i'm offering help to a plugin dev. Since this is exactly what I've been looking for, FOR SO LONG.
Does this work with the 1.2.5 R3 build too ?
@xrisxpl
Thanks :)
First: I think this will not happen for several reasons:
1. In my opinion, the region information should have the easiest access, therefore this is called when clicking a sign
2. Auto-buy or rent on click could cause many accidental purchases.
3. It doesn't happen very frequently that you have to buy / sell a region
Second: I already thought about that myself but for some reason I wanted to have 'nicer' regions ;). Maybe I could improve the whole system a little bit and use simple settings (like in your suggestion) + Editable 'algorithms' (read from a file)
Third: That sounds pretty useful. As you may know WorldGuard provides chest-protection etc. itself but I don't think all server-owners want to use this (or not?).
Very nice plugin :), but I think there are some things, which can make it better ;). First buying and renting. Writing commands isn't easy for players so maybe plugin can use mouse buttons? (LMB on sign for buy and RMB for rent)
Second: rebuilding. Plugin should let admin to select type of material to rebuild region (not just sand and grass) maybe by type material ID in command? I think it will good idea if it only replace blocks to ground level and above replace with air.
Third: region relase. Many servers use LWC to protect chests, furnaces, doors etc. When player buy region where another player build something in past, he need to ask admin to remove protected items. It will be very usefull if plugin automatically remove all protected items from region (maybe integration with LWC?)
@RustyDagger
so like residence?
Finding more and more things to improve... I think it should be available tomorrow, going to sleep now. :)
@Drewmoe0194 You got it :)
